Very very happy with this business. I called Kurt because I needed some stone ground cover. He was very polite and more importantly to me.... effective. Unprofessional. Pulled onto my street today to deliver materials to my house and parked in the middle of the road. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but it looked like he fell asleep. I walked out twice in a 15 minute time period to flag him down to see if I should move my car out of my driveway and he was sitting there with his hand over his eyes, not moving. Once he got out of the truck, he yelled at me through the gate to see where I wanted the material. When I told him I thought the driveway was fine he asked me if I had anything in the garage. I didn't understand why that mattered so I didn't say anything for a minute and he condescendingly asked, "Like a car?". He told me to move my car (which I was trying to do anyway) but didn't specify where I should park. I moved my car out of my driveway and pulled up in front of my house where he yelled at me again telling me (again, SUPER condescendingly) that I couldn't park there because he had to unload. I had no idea. This isn't something I do all the time. I'm really underwhelmed by the quality of this employee. I hope they don't treat every homeowner like this because it is incredibly unprofessional. read more

When you head south on Railroad Ave (formerly San Fernando Road), and it bends to the left, now you're on Newhall Ave... the first street on the right is Pine St. it's a industrial area on a 25 mph dirt road. You'll see a sign half way down on the left directing you to this place. It's a very large yard full of bricks, stones, pavers, gravel, etc. we spoke to Kurt Shaw and he was very informative and friendly. They didn't have exactly what we were looking for, but he gave us a ball park price on a short block wall with veneer and installation. He also gave me the names and phone numbers of two installers for estimates. This is a good place to go to if you can't find what you're looking for at your typical box stores. This place looks similar to the other big building materials place on Soledad next to the small amusement park... not mentioning any names... read more

First of all, they have moved to a new site on Pine Street in Newhall. We went there looking for some natural stone to use to top off a retaining wall we recently rebuilt and were pleased with the great selection of colors and shades that they have on offer. Their prices are also very competitive and we walked out with around 300 lbs of natural sandstone for just under $40 which really pleased my wife!
