Impressed with this place. We stopped by on a Monday before noon. They said they were short staffed (they were interviewing 5 chefs that day) so we appreciated the heads up. We weren't in a rush so we enjoyed the view while we sipped our two flights. We got both of the Spanish flights and liked most of the wines. These wines are from Spain so they are very different than fruit forward Washington wines. Most of the wines were very nice, a little higher price point than most as well. They were out of one of the Spanish wines in my flight so I went with the 17 Klipsun Syrah and was blown away. This wine is very nice for a 17, I cannot wait to try their next vintage. Also tried their charcuterie board which was delicious and well priced. The rest of the tapas are a fair price as well. Full disclosure: I am used to Seattle prices so I though they were fine. Going to be keeping an eye on this winery. read more

Our visit to Valdemar was an absolute delight, from the gorgeous, inclusive architecture and interior design, to the lovely views, the exceptional service (which included a server with a great sense of humor and a table visit by the chef), truly delicious food, and--you guessed it--some outstanding wine offerings. We recommend you getting two flights to sample Valdemar's range of offerings, the Estate Wines and the Bodegas (Spanish wines). We found something exceptional in each. The Cabernet Sauvignon is top-notch, though a bit pricey. (Still, we couldn't leave without four bottles.) On the Spanish side, the Conde Valdemar Reserva is stunning. We were less impressed by the Gran Reserva, though it was still quite good. Our flights were paired with Spanish tortillas, cured meats, and a cheese platter--perfect for tasting the wine offerings. Something we deeply appreciated was the inclusive nature of the business, which goes out of its way to accommodate people with needs. We really found that heartwarming. We'll definitely be back to Valdemar! read more

This place was great. Wonderful wines, amazing food, and very great atmosphere. Outdoor seating with heaters or beautiful indoor dining. Highly recommend. read more

Beautiful location wines just so so. I'm a red fan and didn't like any of the ones I tried. The Spanish white was pretty good for a crisp summer white. Price was a bit over the top 45-75 a bottle seemed steep to me. read more

A wonderful night of wine pairing administered by Albert and team. The food and wine was wonderful, not to mention the beautiful surrounding and venue. I highly recommend reaching out to Valdemar Estates and asking for a special night of wine pairing with Albert Diaz. read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! Highlight of my trip to Walla Walla. My hubby had the Spanish flight and I enjoyed the Syrah flight. The decor was beautiful, spectacular view, amazing service, and I don't know if I liked the tapas or the wine better. I like that they bring you all the tastings at once so you can compare side by side and you are able to just sit back and relax. read more

The Valdemar Estates are amazing. The wine is exquisite and and the location is amazing. My hold back on 5 stars was our server. He was rude, put out by us, and required several comments from us before he behaved decently. And got zero tip. Our driver mentioned that this server had caused issues in the past which is disappointing. I think this place is awesome. Just need staff who won't tell us it's off-putting to order a flight. Weird. read more

What a great place! Incredible atmosphere with a really cool vibe. The tapas were very good and our waiter was so friendly and helpful in suggesting other wineries. Oh - and the wine was fabulous! read more

Beautiful tasting room and fabulous service! Very impressed with their wine bd amazing food

Amazing architecture, the food was very traditional Spanish tapas, and the wine was very good.

Food was really good, though I expected a few more warm Spanish options, like: Albondigas, Gambas al Ajillo and Patatas Bravas. A welcome sign "Bienvenidos a España" at the lower entrance would be a nice addition, as it feels a bit cold and overwhelming. Excited to see this place mature, and add some Walla Walla produce and local wines in addition to the Spanish heritage. read more

Absolutely gorgeous venue. Delicious wines and fantastic (and yet simple) food. Definitely recommend sitting by the water features. We came on a Thursday afternoon, and the experience was fantastic. Definitely should be a destination for anyone coming to the Walla Walla area read more

Excellent wine and service. Definitely a winery worth visiting. They have an excellent selection of their Spanish wines and additionally do food and appetizers. The venue itself is beautiful and located just South of town in a very scenic location. read more

Excellent food. Average wine. Mediocre service. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated by a fairly rude man (reddish hair) who seemed bothered that he had to stop what he was doing. We ordered 3 wine flights and didn't love anything enough to buy a bottle. The food was absolutely delicious. Our server was adequate, not overly friendly, but efficient and we did not feel rushed. Recommend this stop for the food. read more

Our favorite winery we visited by far! The establishment is breath taking. Large, modern, new, clean. The staff is friendly and the wine is even friendlier. Not only was it our favorite wine, it also had the most amazing views of the mountains. Highly recommend! read more

Amazing food with great view, space and service! Will definitely come back for this place.

Valdemar Estates - Tapas and Spanish wines - Tapas/Small Plates Near Me - Walla Walla, Washington

Came after we got a recommendation from a bread and breakfast owner and arrived to a beautiful grand, brand new building. The wine was mostly from Spain as this is a flagship store in Washington but the brand is based abroad. We enjoyed a selection of red wines and charcuterie boards overlooking the lovely view read more

I have been to this winery a few times now and have determined that I love this place! The views are beautiful, the staff is extremely welcoming (We've had James a few times and he's very knowledgeable and kind), the bacon wrapped dates are a must try, and their Spanish selection of wine is excellent. Definitely, worth a visit! read more

Food and wine was great. Don't charge $75 for a bottle of wine and have unknowledgeable staff.

Beautiful venue with a view of the Blue Mountains. This is an ultra modern tasting room. They serve Tapas along with the food; however the selection is very modest. The wines for tasting are ok. However, the service was sub par with very little attention to describing the tasting notes. The venue was noisy and not hospitable at all. The only positive was the view. Far too noisy with very little service. The staff would benefit from hospitality training. They had only been open for 4 weeks and this is may have been a factor in our experience. Also there were ten people in our party. Our server did his best read more

Beautiful views on their patios with water features and very comfortable seating. The tasting was great and I really appreciated the chilled red wine. We had appetizers which were a bit much for me. They included sardines and anchovies. Too much for my palette but I'm certain others would have loved them. read more

We were really excited about this winery, but honestly the experience with the waiter was horrible. He was very rude to us. We had someone in our group that was celebrating a birthday and we were told when we booked the reservation that the birthday girl would get a special treat (aka their cheesecake they are famous for). When we asked about this, the waiter said they were sold out of cheesecake and we asked if we could get anything else and he said no. Overall just not a good experience, and I would definitely avoid this pretentious place in the future and go support more small family owned wineries instead. Also their wine isn't very good for how pretentious they act. read more

Valdemar Estates - Olive oil and meat trio - Tapas/Small Plates Near Me - Walla Walla, Washington

We were very disappointed in our experience at Valdemar after planning and making reservations a month in advance and calling the day before to ensure our accommodations could be met we arrived with plenty of outdoor seating available but for whatever reason that could not adequately be explained why our group couldn't be seated side by side outside. We tried working with the tasting room manager on our seating and when questioning the availability of our reserved tables she became incredibly hostile and unprofessional, offending several members of our group and rather then continuing to discuss with her shouting at us causing a scene we left. If you are looking for a full wine experience with good customer service and professionalism this is not the place for you. read more

Excellent all around! The food was amazing and so were the wines. I'll definitely come back.

The service was great, the atmosphere was nice, but the amount of food for the cost was poor. We had a group of 9 people and went there for a late lunch. After looking at the menu, we opted for two charcuterie platters and two other meat boards. One person had a glass of wine, but everyone else had water. There was maybe 3 oz of meat total between all the boards. The bill was $100 plus tip. Nothing like the pictures online! read more

I had two of their flights- one all Spanish wines and one all Red Mountain Syrahs. It is so neat to try imported wines from Spain they were all delicious! The Syrahs were okay, I'm not a big Syrah person. The staff was friendly and helpful- a little too chatty though. I had some of their tapas- amazing. I'm so glad there's finally a place on the Southside with food! read more

Tiny pours, brought us one flight assuming we were sharing. Staff was very pretentious and lacked basic social interactions.

I'm a gluten-free white wine drinker & highly recommend this winery for its wine, ambiance & food. The charcuterie, esp the lomo, was delicious. It's been so long since I've had fresh baked bread- I would come here for the GF baguette itself. Hubs raved over the Spanish stew. Lovely views & good service. Skip the light on flavor shrimp salad. read more

This is a must visit in Walla Walla - our favorite place so far after several days here! The Spanish wines are outstanding, and a refreshing change of pace from the traditional tastings in the area. The tapas are amazing, and we highly recommend the pairing. Our server, Alex, was wonderful - accommodating, friendly, and a true delight. Do yourself a favor - don't miss this incredible place! read more

they're trying hard, service was good but the mediocre food was expensive. maybe in time this winery will be worth the visit. sorry

The views at Valdemar were spectacular, maybe the best we've seen in Walla Walla! The service was also excellent, with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food and wine, however, were average at best (except the cheese board, which was very good). It was quite underwhelming from that standpoint, and left us wanting more from our visit. read more

We had the best time at Valdemar Estates! We enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the peaceful views. The staff was great and they did a wonderful job explaining all of their wines with us. And the tapas were great too! Thank you Valdemar Estates- this is just what my fiancé and I needed to escape for a moment during this crazy time in the world! We will be back. read more

My friend and I came here for our joint birthday celebration. We've been friends for more than 20 years and our birthdays are two days apart. Our gracious and wonderful server Mary guided us through the menu and answered all of our persnickety questions about the wines. We had the Spanish olives, pepper tapas, scallops, charcuterie plate and the amazing apple cake with house-made basil ice cream. Every dish was perfect and gorgeously plated. We couldn't have had a better experience. Bravo- do not pass up your chance to visit! And the wine? Brilliant! read more

We came to taste, excited to enjoy the beautiful space. We were met with disdain from the onset, due to our lack of a reservation. While I can respect our group being on the larger end (7) only four of us were tasting. I cannot accept poor service due to being an "inconvenience". Our money spends the same, and we'll enjoy our Pretty Woman moment elsewhere. read more
