We picked the most beautiful day in October to go wine tasting. Having heard great things we stopped by Madison Bleue for a tasting. We grab a quaint table out front in the sun. I must say, our Sommelier Joseph provided the most delightful and attentive service I can recall. He brought us bonus pours and even handmade locally crafted artisan chocolates. Had been about a year since I had visited their tasting room. Got to meet and talk to Barb for over an hour about all that has gone on in Walla Walla and how much the town has grown. Got to try some wines I hadn't had before, and they have some great ones. The Metis is a great bang for your buck for a Walla Walla blend, and Pambrun is in the top 5 wines in the valley in my view. Enjoyed talking about wineries and how the AVA's and valley divided. Last year I had met Joe, who is also great, but was out today. They are kitty corner from the Marc Whitman hotel. Covid-19 rules/regulations in place. Made an appointment on line for a tasting. Seated comfortably outside with a party of 4. Fabulous wines. Really yummy stuff. 6 wines on the tasting menu for $15. New to Walla Walla, my friend and I wanted to go to a few wine tastings where they had a good mix of different wines (both red and white). We added Maison Bleue to the list and we're surprised by just how kind and attentive they were while we were there! It was such a fun experience - our pourer was not only knowledgeable about the wines but also the area and other wineries around. He even provided us with some courtesy snacks to munch on while we sipped! Overall, I would highly recommend this tasting to anyone and am excited to check out their Vancouver location when I get back home! read more

Love love loved the wines here. The winemaker is a dentist turned wine-pro from KC who moved out here to share his talents with the world. I spent the whole first day tasting and figuring out what I wanted to take home with me. Maison Bleue was my first stop on day 2 and I immediately purchased the viognier and the grenache. They were THAT good. And my palate was unbiased first thing in the morning! They have a tiny tasting room along the main portion of downtown across from the Marcus Whitman Hotel and they were one of the few places I visited where I enjoyed every wine I tasted. Most places had white wines that were too sweet and not unique, but I found the ones here to be quite interesting. I will surely be back in the spring for the spring release! read more

The Maison Bleue Winery is definitely a hidden gem in the downtown Walla Walls area. There was a 6 wine tasting for $15 a person. If you purchase two bottles the tasting fee was waived. We really liked the wine and might have purchased a bottle to cover each tasting but the two per tasting was a little much since the bottles ranged from $50-70. We will definitely eat back if in Walla Walla. read more

We ended up coming here for a tasting but were a tad disappointed. The tasting fee was $10 (higher than others around) and you only got to try 3 wines (2 were sold out). The wines were just okay, nothing too special. This is the only placed we stopped that we did not buy at least one bottle from. I felt the wines were underwhelming. The space was minimal and nice but the wines weren't that great. If you are interested in this style of wine we went to a couple other places that seemed to have a better selection. read more

The day before Thanksgiving I was in town giving flyers to local businesses about our participation in the Blue Mountain Community Foundation's Valley Giving holiday guide. I told myself "I will buy something from the business that is most kind." Moira Fromemke at Maison Bleue won hands down! She was welcoming of my information, enthusiastic about Habitat's work, and also encouraged me to interact further with her Tasting Room Manager. I sat down for a wine tasting and Moira did an excellent job describing the wines, wine making process, and how the Walla Walla Valley has such unique wines. As I was getting ready to pay, Moira wouldn't let me. She personally bought my tasting and said "Thank you for the work Habitat does!" I left feeling supported and celebrated. Dawn at Maison Bleue took such great care of me! I went through the beautiful tasting line up of this Prosser based winery. My absolute favorite was the 2010 Liberte Syrah of which only 200 cases were made of this wine. It's a cocoa, raspberry delight with a nice smooth delicious sweet tannin finish. I would have loved to have tried the Grenache! Too bad it was sold out. Until next year! Highly recommend doing a tasting here. The location is central and next to Kerloo, another phenomenal cellar.
