GARBAGE COMPANY. Will continue to send their GARBAGE even after you tell them in writing to take you off their mailing list. I am registered with the Do Not Call List, the DMA (Direct Marketing Association )'no junkmail list and a block on my credit reports to not send me junk mail. This operation continues to send their cheap and sleazy crap mailings to me every week and they go from the mailbox to the recycle bin without a glance. I am tired of this unwanted garbage clogging up my mailbox. How many times does a consumer have to contact this company to get these mailings to stop. Red Flag B.S. One of their bulk mail flyers arrived today. No problem I sort junk mail above my trash can almost everyday. Their's caught my eye because there is nothing on it other than a very nice winter scene and a note at the bottom. The message was to contact the USPS if I "receive the card without accompanying mail". Supervisors here are extremely unprofessional. I worked for them 3 weeks and through that time, I was never properly trained. They expect you to go based off how you see other workers work so you can follow instead of giving you proper training. Due to supervisors being incompetent, there is a very big safety risk in the facility. After a death in my family, I had to take an urgent phone call while on the clock. After this incident, supervisors didn't allow me to return. If I could say zero stars, I would. I will filing a complaint tomorrow letting corporate know safety guidelines are not followed in the facility. More than half of the workers use their phone in the facility. Ridiculous company sent me a postcard with a picture of flowers. No text or ad at all, no way to see why it was even sent. Even small print was only the address of their company and UPS directions. Someone there screwed up bigtime. Was this originally supposed to be an advertisement for something? Valassis owns RedPlum, which is one of the largset junk mail companies in the US. Valassis and RedPlum produce the junk mail that your postal worker stuffs your mailboxes each and every week. Despite six attempts at removing myself from their distribution list over the past year, my mailbox is full to the brim with their advertisements. Like most people, I do not read junk mail. I throw it away/ recycle. I wonder if advertisers are so stupid to think any of us read this junk mail? Smart advertisers spend their $ online, so they can measure how many people click an ad. Dumb ones pay Valassis. But I digress... Valassis brags on their web site that they send junk mail to 60 Million households! How many trees do you they kill each week? THIS IS REDPLUM If I could stand outside their corp offices and protest I would. They own REDPLUM which is that direct mail stuff that arrives every week in your mail box even when you fill out the form on their website "red plum.com to be removed. The problem I have is not only is it a lot of stuff but most people just throw it in the trash like me so what a waste of paper. They probably try to convince their advertisers that what they offer in the world of direct mail is a great way to spend your marketing dollars but if you go to the waste or trash collecting agencies like I have you will see ALL of their stuff discarded. Gee I wonder why so many of the newspapers have decided to scale back home delivery and do it all online. is it possible that we are using this funny little thing called COMPUTERS now instead. I guess their advertising dept probably has a bunch of 75 or 80 year old people who think that what they mail out is still relevant. I tend to disagree. This company uses your advertising budget to send advertisements to addresses whose residents have requested to opt-out. They pretend to allow residents to opt out by providing an online opt-out form. However, fillers of the form report that after repeated requests, the junk mail continues to arrive even after the 5-6 week period Valassis claims to require to remove the address. We can guess that the real purpose of the form is to trick residents into confirming that they are receiving the junk mail, even if they have never redeemed a coupon traceable to the address; these numbers can then be used to inflate the statistics Valassis uses to sell advertising to customers. Hopefully, public awareness of this problem will raised to where the courts and government regulating bodies will step in. read more

If it was possible to give a negative rating, I would. I have repeatedly asked to be removed from Red Plum's and Valassis' mailing lists unsuccessfully. I have opened four cases with the Better Business Bureau but have, again, been unsuccessful in my attempt to stop their junk mail from being delivered to my residence. So now, for lack of a better explanation, I am takin' it to the streets to get the word out! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS ORGANIZATION. Their customer service is horrible, they do not listen to the consumer and they do nothing but fill up your mailbox with junk mail. After my last attempt to have my name removed, I now write "Return to Sender" on their junk mail and return it to them. Let them figure out what to do with it. read more

Perhaps this review may be considered sour grapes, but I represent a national charity called Thursday's Child, that helps to recover missing children. We have the only listing for missing children with toll free director and 411 services throughout the nation. But Valassis only supports the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children with donations even though, unlike us who are open 24-7, their services are only open 5-9 weekdays. Why do they only support NCMEC? It makes them look better. On their hold, in their marketing, they maintain that more than 1500 children featured in their fliers have been returned home. While that may be true, they were not returned as a result of being feature on their fliers. That is deliberately misleading. By calling 1 (800) 437-0479 you too can have your address removed from their mailing list. read more
