I've been coming here for years, even though I live on the opposite side of Jacksonville. The drive is WORTH IT! Thorough exams, detailed feedback, clean office with lots of frame options, incredibly helpful staff, wonderful "chairside" manner! They do everything possible to ensure that your eyes & your wallet are well taken care of. I love this place! read more

I had an unexpected problem with my left eye, so Ernie drive me here to have my eye checked. They lady Doctor(I forgot her name)checked me right away. I did a walk in and they were fine with that. I did have to fill out a couple of forms first. She said my eye was irritated, but okay. So, she prescribed me some eye drops to help. I always buy cleaning cloths and eye glass cleaner when I come in here. Dr. R. that owns this place is the one who discovered my Glaucoma. I know he must be close to retiring, but he is a great Doctor in my eyes! He runs a great company. The girls at the reception area and the Cashier were all very accommodating and polite. read more

timely manner it was in and out with a good price they didn't try to upsell you if you told them what you wanted & looking for

Personnel are all very professional, from the tech who did the eye work up in the back, to the Dr who did my exam and the girl at the front desk who helped check me in and checked me out and did all the paper work. I will definitely be coming back to this office. Thank you for taking care of all my eye needs. read more

My family and I have been going here over 15 years. This place use to be great but now they have new employees helping choose the glasses that are rude and completely bothered with patients coming in the office. Employee named Emily has ruined me wanting to ever go back to this office. I tried to speak with the manager and Emily continued to hang up on me saying I was being rude when I was not even yelling or talking to her in any disrespectful way. You can truly tell she does not care about her customers/patients and does not deserve to work for this office. She is new and my guess her old office fired her by the way she treats people. read more

I'm not that guy to leave bad reviews, but the service was pathetic. Scheduled an exam online, very easy and user friendly. They give me a courtesy call confirming my appointment and made sure my insurance worked with them. I have tricare select. Apparently when I get there, they told me only active duty members can get the coverage. Would've been nice to know, they even told me over the phone that they take all of tricare coverage, active or retired. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they didn't know, but wasting my whole day planning around this because of there mistake is pathetic. Nice people I'm sure, just need to get there stuff together. read more

first time in friendly fast and affordable. Glad I found this place for my eye care!

I read the many reviews of Val-Uvision and had used the service in Orange Park many years ago and decided to give the one at Regency a chance. I found everyone to be Very friendly yet very professional in the services that they provided. Brittany walked me through all my preliminaries and made me feel at ease. Dr Delcampo gave me the a thorough exam and got me ready for Sandy, the young lady that helped me choose the right glasses for my face and get me everything my insurance provided. Thanks guys read more

I have been going to VALU VISION for approximately five years. Unfortunately, sometime in August I ran out of my contacts and called to order new ones. After speaking with the representative she informed me that she would order my Contacts. As per trials they will need to order them and she will call me so I'm able to stop by the office to pick them up. Here's where everything goes downhill. I never got a callback to pick up my contacts or my trials I had about three weeks left of contacts, so I kind a let it go for about a month. I called a month later and after speaking with the supervisor I was told that they would order them again and to stop by and pick up my trials which were from another office because they did not have them there. When I went in to pick them up nobody could find my Trial contacts. Unfortunately, after waiting for 15 to 20 minutes I was told they could not find them and went home empty-handed. With the expectation that I should get them that afternoon if not the next day. Again, I waited about a week called back just to make sure that they were ready. And much to my dismay they tell me I'm no eligible for trail contacts and that there is no order for my contacts and never has been. therefore, they are not able to either give me contacts or trials and I am left with nothing after dealing with them approximately a month and a half to two. I asked to speak to a manager and whoever the rude "supervisor" was, she stated that's as far as I could get. Oh, also, that she was not able to do anything for me if I didn't go to get my exam redone. I've always known that they are on the expensive side considering I have to pay out-of-pocket since I have no insurance. But, the doctor is very professional and very thorough. Not only did I go, I took my family as well. But, they have officially lost this customer and the family. I refuse to go there with the staff they currently have. I feel that all they want is to fluff you up with more upgrades and more money. I know losing four customers from this family is no big deal and we probably were just numbers to them, but if I can spare anyone else from going there and getting ripped off and treated like garbage it's is all worth it. I am to old to to know when I'm not be valued as a customer. read more

The VAL-Uvision located at 9400 Atlantic Blvd #62, Jacksonville, FL 32225 is doing their best to provide quality service for eye care needs. The Ophthalmologist-Dr. Delcampo is very knowledgeable, pleasant and explains your eye care concerns in layman's terms which I find remarkable. Also the Opthalmogist technician is great she helped to put an at ease feeling prior to seeing the Doctor also she carefully explained the choices of having my eyes dilated exam or having a picture of my eyes exam, after asking her several questions and after careful consideration-I decide to have the picture(s) of my exam because I'm always pressed for time and I just don't like the eye drop exam. This VAL-Uvision in Regency is outstanding however I must say Ms. Sandy is awesome she really puts the icing on the cake-she's very upbeat, courteous and smiling which I love because when it comes time to buying new glasses this is a process I'm dreading but I desperately need to do to help take care of myself and for my overall health. Ms. Sandy offered an array of glasses to choose from-I mean she literally was handing me glasses off of the racks with a warm and caring smile until she handed me these beautiful Calvin Klein glasses they were perfect now I might add that I choose to include the scratch resistant and glare protection as well. I went on Saturday-07/06/19 and within a week my Calvin Klein glasses were ready. I picked up my bifocals glasses and I can see great because my guy(s) treated me to an outing to see "The Lion King" in Tinseltown and I thought I was literally in the movie I could see and read everything. Special thanks to Dr. Mary Delcampo and your wonderful VAL-Uvision Regency Team for giving out top-notch eyecare services and providing excellent patient/customer service. I'm happy now! Keep up the great sight care work and helping the community see things differently! read more

ValuVision was so professional and friendly. I have no insurance and went in for a simple eye exam. I know selling glasses must be where they make their money and even though i made it clear going in that i did not intend to purchase any, they treated me very kindly and respectfully. I feel like i got a complete and thorough exam. I highly recommend them. read more

First the place i tucked away in a large but almost empty strip mall across for Best(or whatever is there now) Buy @ regency. So I found it and got checked in after a bit. So when I got to go bad with my wife (she's the blind one) We saw the per doctor got this got that done and then we waited for the real Doc. She came in and whisk us way to the exam room. Here is where she looked way back inside my head. She told me that my eyes are pretty good. I then asked where I could find the longer arms for reading. That's a different doctor she said. Ok the wife's turn. So read this line. After my wife did the letter chart I knew right there n then. If I get them glasses off her head I can do about anything I want cause she won't see me. So we got turned loose in the glasses farm they have on the whole otherwise of the place. There has to be 10K pairs of glasses in there. So with a little this and that we were out of there. Thank God for good insurance otherwise I would have left a whole lot of money back there. The place is really nice and the people are awesome. read more

The doctor is not very helpful in explaining things. I needed information on single vision vs bifocals. Was my vision at the point that I needed bifocals or progressive lenses? She only said it's up to you. Also they don't explain transition lenses very well. As a result I have single vision transition lenses. I have ill fitting frames. The lenses stay dark even when I'm in dark places causing me to bump into things. I really needed progressive or bifocals so I constantly have headaches. I've had them less than a week. Called to see what can be done and was told all sales final!! Not willing to help me at all! read more

Awesome service. Had no appt. Walked right in sweet doc. They gave me a free Contact and solution I felt Like Mike Jones whats my name.

My husband and I visited Val-UVision this week and we had a very pleasant experience. Sandi Lee helped us with our choice. She was extremely patient and in tune with what we were looking for. I loved her input and her courteous manner. Sandi listened to our input and provided advice on what would fit best. Even during the ordering process she answered our questions and offered examples but she was not pushy or overbearing. She made this visit worth it and we'd visit again just to be serviced by her! Sandi keep up the good work! read more

I have been coming there since 2011. I just took all my records and leaving. As well as my husband and daughter. I called Monday the week of New Years Eve and I was told to come into the office on Tuesday or Thursday after calling and informing them that my glasses frame handle just broke. She looked up my insurance and told me what my benefits were and to come in. I was never told that I needed an appointment. Just told to come in. After I got there, driving over half an hour on Tuesday... the VERY RUDE MANAGER..NASTYLY told me...I dont know who told you to come in..WE CANT SEE YOU.....EVERYONES RUSHING IN TRYING TO GET THEIR INSURANCE BENIFITS TAKING CARE OF BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR...SO YOU SHOULD HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT..YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR A WHILE I DONT KNOW WHO TOLD YOU THAT...as if I were lying... WHO talks to a customer like that and a regular patient...I told her, I was never told I needed an appointment or I would have made one and never come in...she sarcastically blamed the girl at the desk for giving the wrong information....as she ranting..as the girl tells her it wasn't me...and going back and forth....TACKY..I told her no one is here in the eye glass area right now....she ignored what I said to her. Clearly she was bothered by someone else that day..and took it out on me.....unbelievably nasty..I sat there an hour....searching for a customer service number..... (At the end of this review you will see why I could not locate customer service)..and went to my vehicle......later I came back after sitting in my vehicle for a duration of 2 hours and the lobby one hour.....trying to locate the owner on line or customer service in GOOGLE. After trying for so long and not wanting to drive back home I finally decided..to go get my records and tell them I'm never coming back..I went in Valu vision at 7pm...no manager there now..and a nice lady heard me say please give me all my records to the front desk clerk.....and she walked over to me knowing I was in earlier around 4pm...and she said let me help you...she was awesome..her name was Lisa..she took care of me. There was no one there but me...no patients...Not one person came in at all...and it was almost closing time.... the office was empty....even when I was done....Can you BELIEVE THIS MANAGER!! SOMETHING IS WRONG HER... I left several emails to the doctors and asked them to please contact me...after doing research I found out the actual Doctor who owns this practice is the brother in law to the office manager. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.. No wonder I never got a call back...or a reply to my emails. Now I see why she gets away with what she wants and behaves in this manner, his wife is her sister. She will continue to be what she is because she is family. She doesn't care. UNBELIEVABLE...They lost three patients and I will never recommend Valuvision again to ANYONE. I agree with some of the other reviews.100%...what they experienced is real....because it happened to me.....sad to say a 10 year patient gone over an very unprofessional family member who clearly doesn't care and her family allows her to do what she wants. They NEVER replied to any emails I sent, and I sent several to the owner (the doctor) and the doctors...They did not even respond to show they were pleased with Lisa who helped me pick out new glasses later in the evening when I came back and trying to save them a patient...despite the ugliness of the manager earlier that evening..Im finished and done with them...never again... 1 read more

Went in here to see if I could find any frames I liked. Two other customers in the store one was with an employee being helped and the other hadn't been called into the "show" room yet, but was here to pick up her ready frames. The employee that was working with me left to go help another customer who just walked in after I told her I didn't want to spend too much over my insurance for frames and what do they have in that allotment. She pointed me to a rack, that's it, of frames and then left to go help the other customer standing there giving her opinions of what frames fit her and which style was best. Apparently I didn't need that type of service. read more

I finally decided that I was tired of wearing glasses and went to Valu Vision so that I can get my first pair of contacts. Sandy sat with me for about an hour instructing me on how to put them in. I have an astigmatism so the right eye contact is super big. She didn't allow me to get frustrated or impatient because she was super encouraging. Sandy is wonderful and I am really grateful for her patience. Everyone else at the location was also super friendly and accommodating. read more

The staff at Valuvision are terrific! They show genuine concern with my eye care needs. Sandy is especially amazing ! She took great care and patience with me to help me learn how to use my contacts. I have been a patient for almost 10 years and I highly recommend them read more

Sandy went above and beyond to verify my insurance coverage and saved me money! I was very pleased with the service she provided.

I've been here many times and every time that I visited the staffs are so nice and helpful. The store has variety if selections with fancy ones which hard to find elsewhere. The service was lightning fast. I went in for an eye exam and walked out with a brand new pair of glasses within less than an hour. Amazing! The owner, Diana is so sweet. I definitely recommend this place. I'll be back for more glasses and sunglasses. read more

I came in with a prescription on hand and just wanted to look at some frames and get some price ideas. Even though I did not need an exam, I still had to wait for my name to be called to look through the showroom. I guess theft has been an issue for them recently... but I wonder what anyone would want with just frames.... Anywho after waiting a little while I was called. They have a pretty good selection of low end to high end prices. I ended up getting a cute pair for about $250.. That's including frames and lenses. Not as much of a "value" as I had anticipated... but still not bad. The lady was very friendly and gave me a discount, which I always appreciate. Saving $60,70 is always nice. Only reason I didn't rate higher was having to wait in the tiny waiting area for a while. read more

My rating for the Recency location is actually less than zero. I've been a customer there for nearly 20 years and on June 11th, the young sales clerk showed me the rack of frames that my insurance covers. She then asked to keep my little purse while I shop for my frames. I asked her why would I give her my purse? She then made a "joke" saying, "l promise I won't take anything." Needless to say, I reported the incident to Dr. Mary Del Campo. read more

Never been to Val U Vision before but soon realized the visit was going to be less than desirable. You can't even walk around to look at glasses without someone with you because they have such a problem with theft. Not their fault but it's still very inconvenient. There were several people working yet no one was being helped or called back. Absolutely the most stressful visit to the eye doctor I've ever experienced. read more

I paid over $500 for lenses in my existing framers that I cannot use to see or read. The prescription is correct but the lenses are not. I know the prescription is correct as another lab filled 5 pairs of glasses with the prescription. Yet this store wants to waste my time to make me go through another exam before fixing glasses I CANNOT READ IN. I reported when picking up the glasses they were not correct and I could not read correctly. I was told I had 60 days to be satisfied. When calling promptly to report that I am not satisfied, they are now insisting on another eye exam with them, when I JUST HAD ONE and again the prescription is fine, since another lab elsewhere filled it perfectly. I asked to speak with the business owner and the business REFUSES to provided the business owner's name to me to resolve the issue. I now want a refund. This is ridiculous and I now have ZERO confidence in this business or its representations to me. I am awaiting resolution now from not who I asked to speak with but a call from the store manager. My remaining options will be the better business bureau or small claims court, all because I would like to be able to see out of the lenses of the glasses I paid over $500.00 for. I tried the reasonable resolution route. I will not submit to a second, unnecessary medical exam to get a refund when the issue is how the lab made the lenses. So, if you want to go set $500.00 on fire and not get a resolution, this is the business for you. I have received neither Value nor Vision. PLEASE, PLEASE BUSINESS OWNER LOOK AT MY FILE AND CALL ME SINCE YOUR NAME AND CONTACT INFORMATION IS NOT BEING PROVIDED TO RESOLVE THIS VERY SIMPLE ISSUE. read more

About two months ago, I found out that I had kick-ass vision insurance. I've had this insurance for about two years, but I just recently got around to reading the find print. Knowing that #1: Val-UVision was on my plan and #2: they have a decent selection of frames, I made an appointment. One good thing about this place is that they're open, like, constantly, so setting up an appointment was easy. The bad thing about this is that having an appointment has no bearing on the time that you're actually seen by the optometrist. My exam began about an hour after my appointment time and it was finished in record time. The doctor told me that my vision improved which was news to me since my old glasses seemed to be working just fine. I asked, "Are you sure?" and I was told that this sometimes happens to people once they reach their 30s and then I was hustled out to the frames area. When I picked up my glasses two weeks later, I had a feeling something wasn't quite right. Like a trooper, I wore them for about a week thinking that my eyes needed to adjust to the new "weaker" prescription. Several days of migraines and curb-tripping later, I took the glasses back. It turns out that my eyes didn't get better so new lenses had to be reordered which took another 3 weeks. At that point, I was so happy that I could see that I'm ignoring the small chips on the outer edges of both lenses and the weird smudge that can't be wiped away. read more

I have worn both contacts and glasses for 13 years and this was hands down the most unprofessional and overpriced experience i have ever had. My initial exam experience was average. Reasonable wait time and courteous staff. I have a high prescription so I had anticipated a long wait for my glasses and contacts (1 to 2 weeks is the norm). Several days after my appointment the Optometrist personally called to inform me that I had two options for contacts, soft toric lens or hard lens. My preference was for soft lens for as long as they were possible for my prescription. I was very clear that while soft contacts were my preference I would go with what the Dr. recommended. The Dr. was adamant that the toric lens (soft lens) were a great option and that the price would similar with either lens. I agreed and was encouraged to order a years supply and placed that order and paid via debit card over the phone. 2 weeks later my glasses arrived without problem. 6 weeks after my initial exam my contacts arrived. I was called by staff member on a Saturday and told I would need to make an appointment to see the Dr in order to pick up my contacts. This was very unusual to me and I asked why the Dr would need to see me, was there a problem with my lens/prescription? I was given a curt answer of "Thats just how its done". I made an appointment for that Sunday. Sunday morning came and I was unexpectedly unable to make time for an appointment. Not seeing a problem with this as I had already had an exam, and paid for all services and products, and was assured personally by the Dr. that these were the lens for me. This however was not what happened. When I arrived that Sunday morning I explained that I had an appointment for that afternoon that I wouldn't be able to attend and needed to pick up my contacts. I was immediately told that I had to see the Dr. and that I couldn't be given the contacts without seeing the Dr. I asked several times why I needed to see the Dr. and was there a problem with my prescription and in turn getting the same "This is just how we do things" response. After 15 mins of this circular conversation I asked for a refund of the purchase price of the contacts and my contact lens prescription. I was quickly told that I would need to fill out a form for a refund and that I would receive a check in approximately a week or 2 and that I did not have a prescription and would just have to start the process over again somewhere else. I asked what did they mean I didn't have a prescription, I had an exam and paid for years supply of contact that were sitting in front of me. I was told repeatedly that I didn't have prescription and I wasn't going to be given a refund that day. After another 15/20 mins of this I asked to see the Dr. I was told that the only way I could speak to the Dr. was to put the contacts in and have the additional exam. Frustrated and exhausted from this now over 30 min futile conversation I put the contacts in so that I could get a rational explanation as to why I needed to see her after being told she was confident in her choice of contacts and being allowed to order a years supply at over $300.00. I was escorted to the exam room and it became clear that no answer would be forth coming. All of the above happened in an office completely empty of patients besides myself and the Dr. could clearly hear what was happening at the desk and had been avoiding it by staying in her exam room. And continuing to avoid my questions and any unhappiness on my part. My simple question being," If you were unsure of the lens you had ordered for me why did you not just tell me this and order one trial pair for me to try THEN have me order a years supply?" After all was said and done I spent over $800.00 on glasses, contacts, and exam WITH insurance. And even after the insistent that I have a lens "fitting" once my contacts arrived I still have trouble seeing out of my left eye with my contacts. I would never recommend Val-U-Vision to anyone nor will I ever go back. read more

Don't go unless you have time to sit there and watch staff at the desk for over an hour while you wait for an eye exam. Only one patient was taken to the back as me and others waited to be seen. Also, you are only to stay in the waiting room and not browse the eye glass selections on your own. You think it would be beneficial for the patient to kill time and get a head start of what they want. Noticeable were cameras in each corner. Me and another patient were informed that the doctor was going to lunch and if we could return after 2:00 pm. They open on Sundays at 10:00 and we were informed of this at 12:00. Needless to say, I will never ever return. read more

It seems this place is gone downhill I have been a patient for 18 years at this particular location. I love the doctors. However their customer service technicians or frame techs have gone downhill in quality of service. I have been in there twice with two different pairs of glasses that they have broken or messed up. The first time I took it upon myself to say I understand I signed the frame release and was OK with what they proved me for the trouble. The second time I said no I need a refund on the lens at least. Just for the the fact that I do not have frames for the lenses so why am I paying for the lenses for a frame that your employee broke. The girl got up and walked away from me and just said I'll have my manager call you. After all that they didn't not give me my frames that were damaged. So I walked out with nothing. I am so disappointed and will be taking my business elsewhere. Shame that the technicians push people away from good MDs. read more
