I've been to multiple barbershops in the past 5 years but Rafael at Val Barbers has been by far the best. For the last 3 years, I've only let Raf cut my hair because he's the only one I truly trust. After my second time there, Raf new exactly what I wanted and I never have to say anything. He knows exactly how I like my hair cut. I highly recommend Rafael to anyone whose looking for a real professional barber! read more

Brad gave me the best haircut I have had in over a decade. This guy could be cutting hair in Beverly Hills at a top salon...because the last haircut I got was from such a place...a much lesser haircut for over double the cost. Grateful to have a humble artist who can assess your hair and head and then execute at a such high level. read more

This is by far the best barber shop in the San Fernando Valley. I tried dozens of barbers in the San Fernando Valley and received many horrible haircuts before finally finding The Crimson Barbershop. This is an excellent shop with a welcoming environment and talented staff. Everyone here is great but my go to Barber is Sonny. He is friendly, down to earth, and most importantly he gives the best haircuts. read more

First time visit and I couldn't be happier with my hair cut. Booking an appointment online was very easy and confident. Rafael did a great job and I got a very professional hair cut including a fun conversation. I will definitely come back if I'm in the area and I'm need for a great hair cut. Price was also very reasonable. Thank you. read more

So happy I found this place! Brad came in super clutch for a wedding I had to attend. I called with an emergency because the other barbershop completely botched my haircut, like really bad. Brad got me in within the hour and fixed the previous barber's mistake. Brad was super careful and constantly communicated what he was going to do. I love the vibe of the shopping center they're in too. If you're in the area, I highly recommend this place. I'll be going back for sure 100% read more

Rafael rents a chair inside of The Crimson Barbershop, a compact space across from the Post Office on Magnolia, east of Whitsett. The shop is clean and comfortable, and you can park on the streets. Rafael is a super nice dude and he is comfortable with the conversation while doing a fantastic job on your hair (and/or beard). I've waited a week to do this review so I can see how it grew out, and it's clear that Rafael is detail-oriented and strong with the shears. I have been looking for a go-to barber for three years since my guy retired, and I think Rafael is going to be that guy. read more

Brad is amazing and has an eye for a fresh cut! He was my man for about eight years until I moved out of state. Don't waste your time looking elsewhere, set up an appointment with him today and relax. read more

Best barber shop in LA! Brad is fantastic!!! Been going to him for years. Space is really cool., too!

Rafael is the man. Always a great cut and great service! Glad they retained the Valley Village location.

Sonny is the best barber I've ever had, hands down. I was so fortunate to come across his shop after moving to LA. He's a genuine guy and he really cares about his clients. There's always a great vibe and the prices are very reasonable. Scheduling an appointment through the website could not be easier. Make the appointment - you'll be glad you did! read more

This place is the best! I've followed Sonny back when he was at Floyd's Barbershop. All staff and crew are awesome.

Loved this little place so much, and my son got the best haircut! Thank you and see you soon!

Amazing! Very welcoming!!!! Very family oriented barber shop!!! Along with great customer service.

Please be aware The Crimson Barbershop has moved to 11225 Magnolia Blvd. N. Hollywood, CA. 91601.

Val is amazing barber - great guy, I highly recommend. Also, really easy system to book your appointments.

Sonny and the crew at the crimson barbershop have been absolutely incredible. I've been searching for a good barber throughout LA for ages and then I found Sonny! If you're someone looking for a good haircut and someone who knows what their doing, this place is the BEST! I can't say how highly I approve of this Barbershop! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! read more

Found Rafael, my new barber. Does a great job. Easy to book appointments with him too.

Went here for the first time and had a great experience. Rafael cut my hair and did an excellent job, gave him kind of vague suggestions but he cut my hair to something exactly I wanted. Vibes are cool, everyone was really friendly and of course they took proper COVID precautions. Definitely recommend this place and this will for sure be my regular spot to get my cuts. read more

Sonny has been cutting my hair for about 7 years now and I tell everyone I meet that he is the reason why I am successful in the entertainment industry. I'm known for the cut this man has defined and perfected. I'm also lucky to call Sonny a friend and it has been awesome to see what he has done with this shop. His passion for what he does and for his clients is second to none. Everyone in his shop is very professional and the place has a really great vibe. Looking forward to 70+ more years of getting my hair cut here. read more

My buddy referred me to this barber shop for a beard trim. And that was when I first met Rafa. He's an amazing barber and well worth the wait. I book my trim via his Instagram which is super convenient. He's always on time and very professional. Highly recommend this place. read more

Just finished my third cut with Raphael -- he does an excellent job. He listens and takes his time. Great vibe at The Crimson too.

I've been cutting my own hair for twenty years, and I've always thought that it looked great. After getting a full service cut and shave from Rafael, however, I now realize that my own hair cutting has NOT looked great, it has looked passable. The haircut I got from Rafael looked GREAT. I didn't really know exactly what I wanted when I sat down, but after a little chat, we solidified the look I was going for, and he nailed it perfectly. Sharp lines, great shape...just a really solid mens haircut. It really surpassed my expectations. The straight razor shave was great too, he took my beard from full growth down to the skin, with no nicks, no razor burn, not problems at all. Super solid all around cut and shave. The experience here with Rafael made me change my thinking about hair cuts...I tossed away my clipper at home, and I'll be returning here to get trimmed and lined up next time I need it. Rafael is also a really nice dude, as well as the other barbers in the shop. Everyone was really kind, and chatty. Made for a really positive barbering experience. Nice looking shop, too, comfortable, cool, collected. I'd recommend this place, and Rafael to any guy in the valley who needs a cut. read more

OMG... with all the popularity of beards nowadays. I decided to try and grow one. Needless to say, I was very scruffy. I want to Rafeal to clean it up. What an awesome experience. Warm towels pleasant conversation. Unfortunately, I did not a hair cut. I will get both done when I go back. Plenty of parking... Super cool shop... Just loved the straight razor shave. It's an experience you don't want to miss... read more

I have been going to Brad nearly 13 years now -- for good reason! I have followed him since 2010 spanning from a whole string of other barbershops/hair salons. He always gives me a great haircut, leads great conversations and is a mastered hair stylist. Also, this is his very own barbershop! After so many years of mulling the idea of owning a shop of his own, he finally did it! Check this place out, you'll be glad you did. read more

This. Guy. Is. The. Best. Rafael knows exactly what I want, he opens up appointments (I was able to come in on Veteran's Day because he was generous enough to open his availability), he's hilarious and friendly, and he delivers a consistently slick cut every single time. I was worried when I moved away from my favorite barber in Chicago and I took a chance on Esquire. I will always choose Rafael as my main barber. read more

Great haircut and time well spent on my hair. He cuts and does a great fade as well. It's a newly remodeled shop and it's very clean. Overall great experience and highly recommended barber. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

My hair is impossible to cut. Curly, kinky, frizzy, kind of straight, and god knows what. Always kept it short (almost a buzz cut) until I decided to grow it out. My usual Supercuts just didn't cut it anymore. Being just down the street, I gave it a try and it was so nice to walk into an actual barber shop, with real barber chairs, that old familiar smell and those damn Playboy magazines that are in every barber shop. I went with Rafael and came away a believer in barbers, again. Personable, friendly, a good conversationalist, and a great barber to boot. The time and care he took to cut, shave, trim and layer what looked like an impossible head of hair and turn it into something trendy and fashionable looking made a believer out of me. Real barbers are now my go to and Rafael is the real deal. read more
