I just wanted to thank you for getting me in on such a last minute notice and on a day when most people are not willing to work. I contacted Josh of Fab Kutz 2 days before thanksgiving and booked an appointment with him on his booksy portal link. I was unsure if they were even open so I called to confirm. He informed me of it costing more due to the holiday which I had no problem with at all. I read many of his great reviews and I had a feeling I would be in skilled barber hands. Well my feeling was right. Much to my surprise (well not really surprised that he did a good job really) I was in and out in a little over an hour. I appreciate his attention to detail and above all I truly thank Josh for not using a razor right away at the end for the edge up, but rather asking me first if I wanted the razor or not. My skin is particularly sensitive and would have definitely scarred up or something along those lines. Not only did he get me in last minute on a day where over 90% of barbers aren't working, he also did a great job and had me looking presentable for my holy day The Feast of Dedication which is in a few days. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I took my normally very well behaved 2 year old son in for a fade with Ryan. My son decided not to behave for his haircut and acted crazy! Ryan was super patient and somehow accomplished a great cut on my son who was squirming nonstop. Don't do it. I asked for a medium fade, and was told it was a go. What I got was a high fade. During the haircut you're facing away from the mirrors which I don't get why. My barber's name was JOHNNY and he did not dissapoint me at all. His fades were actually better than my old barber, so i was pretty stoked. He ended up giving me a discount because of the long wait, but tipped him well. The place is clean and pretty chill. I walked in and was instantly greeted by a room full of smiles. Ryan the barber was super chill and gave me a great haircut and beard trim, I legit got like 5 compliments the next day completely unprovoked. I could tell Ryan was very skilled and actually took his time with my hair, he also made great conversation. The only complaint I have is that I wished the TV woulda played full episodes or movies instead of a compilation of clips but I get they might be doing that for legal reasons or something. The haircut and beard trim were also relaticheap, I think approximately $35 altogether but I don't have the exact number in my head. 4 month update: I've been coming here for the past 4 months and the quality and prices have remained as good as always. The staff is super welcoming. My barber is Ryan and the dude is Ace at cutting hair, he remembers what I like and also gives his opinion when I ask, something I appreciate since my last barber would legit just ask me to point at a picture with little to no deviation. The music played is also good and the TV usually has NBA games or music videos being played in my experience if you care about that. In general, this place offers quality haircuts at cheap as hell prices and who doesn't appreciate a good deal. read more

I came here expecting a haircut, I waited outside for about 35min, 15 min before they opened and 20 min after they were supposed to be opened and nothing. I tried messaging them for a haircut and the owner had said that I was welcome to come by at 12noon for an appointment. In front of their barber shop it says "walk ins welcome" and a sign that says OPEN! I was supposed to be the first one there but again, no sign of them. If you are expecting to get a hair cut be sure to come by later than 10 possibly 11 . It's unprofessional to have a time frame set and not respect it. read more

Writing this on behalf of my spouse who hates to type. So, hubby was going to a very popular barbershop in Sherman Oaks for 12 years. Due to constant issues there (long waits, inability to make appointments, and an increase in female "barbers" who didn't know how to do fades- thus the long waits for the few male barbers), it was time to find a new barber shop in the area. Valley's Finest was recommended by a friend, and it was only a couple of miles away from hubby's old barbershop. The ability to make appointments was awesome! Hubby made an appointment and got his hair cut by Ryan. Ryan did a very clean job and took his time- much more so than even the male barbers at hubby's previous shop. With Ryan being so meticulous, one can tell he has a strong work ethic and wants to make sure the customer is pleased with his work. Thankfully, hubby has found his new barber. The owner, Josh, was with a customer cutting hair as well, and seemed like a good dude who shares a strong work ethic too. Can't recommend this place enough! Made an appointment the day before with ease. Walked in the store the day of my appointment and the atmosphere was really nice. As soon as I walked in a worker automatically greeted me and asked if I had an appointment. During the cut the owner Josh made sure we got the cut right by asking a lot of questions and giving me suggestions for the cut, because I had an idea of what I wanted but didn't know exactly what I wanted. After chatting it up a little bit and seeing the cut at the end I was happy with the service. If you want a great haircut I definitely recommend coming here. I recently moved back to the Valley in May after finishing college. In need of a new barber in the area, I searched around yelp. I walked into Valley's Finest a little nervous because I was changing barbers and had an important engagement later in the day. In the three times I've went, however, I've been extremely impressed with Ryan's work. The amount of attention to detail he puts into cutting your hair and beard is unlike anything I've experienced before. The feeling of being rushed you may experience at other barbers is non-existent here, these guys take their time to cut your hair exactly as you like it. Okay, I'll be upfront say that, although I use Yelp a lot as an initial reference, I haven't actually logged into my accounts in years. So much so that I forgot my password and had to go through the reset process to log back in so I can write this review. If that alone doesn't tell you this barber shop is worth going to, then you've never had to reset an online password in your life. For years now I have settled for basic af fades and haircuts. Why you ask? Call it convenience; call it loyalty; call it ignorance. Whatever you choose, my point is that I have never truly felt satisfied with my cut for a long time now. When my past barber(s) would finish my fade/cut, I would go home, stand in front of the mirror and wonder out loud, "can this mf actually fade?" I don't have to wonder no more fam. John took me in after I set an appointment (because we are adults now) and as I took a seat, he was finishing up a young boy and I thought to myself "man, this little boy has one of the sickest mf'ing fades, geez." But what was more important, is that all the barbers had clean cuts themselves. If you walk into any shop and dudes are chopping hair with a guidance line still on their own head that was not cleaned up properly because the dude didn't flick right or use the edge of the clipper, then that should be your first red flag. Maybe I could have used my own advice in the past, but it didn't really sink in until I was sitting in the waiting area of this shop and saw the difference with my own eyes. During the consultation, I admitted to John that my hair was naturally wack; thick, wavey, frizzy and grows in all directions. The stuff that most barbers prefer not to cut. As he finished listening to me explain all the imperfections on my head, he just replied with a simple "you came to the right place." Once we had a plan of attack in mind, John knew he had to lean forward and really focus on this one. He put his playlist on the wireless speaker and went to work. The best part of my cut was not just how it turned out in the end, but the time John spent on getting the details right. Now that he knows my hair, things will move quicker in the future, but I really appreciated the time he took to really know what he was working with. Nothing was rushed. With that said, this was true of ALL the barbers that were also cutting hair as I sat in the chair. All of these guys are professionals and treat their craft with care. Critical. During my cut, one of the other barbers finished up and was sweeping hair up. Not only did he sweep up the hair around his chair, but he also swept up all the hair around everyone else's chairs as they worked. It's the little things. Pricing. It's a great deal. I read reviews on here where dudes were complaining about a few bucks and all I could do was shake my head. I get it, we all can't be ballers, but at least learn to appreciate individuals who take their craft seriously and give them their due. John, if you're reading this, I would have paid you a crispy new bill if that's what you charged. Not because I am trying to throw money around to show off, but because I think your skill level and the skill level of this shop is worth it. For those who read through this whole damn thing, just call and make an appointment. You won't regret it (unless you are a super picky mf where nothing in life will ever be up to your standards because you view life as a glass half empty. In that case, just learn to cut your own hair and call it a day). read more

This was my third time at this place the haircuts are decent and haves paid $21+ 20% tip all the time. This last time went to get a haircut and was charged $27 + 4cash tip $31 for a haircut is ridiculous. I spoke to the manager and my barber which responded that $21 is a first time price.
