Best barbershop in the Valley. They moved to Salon Republic on Ventura. The atmosphere of the original shop is now in booths. Great atmosphere. You come for the haircut? Rafael or Brad are amazing. You'll look great. Can't speak for third barber , don't know her. But everything here is five stars. Been a happy client for four years. I'll never switch. read more

Val Barber - Barbers Near Me - Studio City, California

Excellent haircuts! Have been going here awhile now, and they just changed to a studio city location that is great. Always appreciate the good conversations and the even better haircuts! And all for a fair and reasonable price. read more

Amazing service from Amber. Personable, listens to my needs, and makes great suggestions on what cut and products to create the look I want. Her cut was so good I still got many compliments two weeks after an appointment. Love that there is free parking in the back. Friendly shop with great vibes from all the barbers. read more

Been here 3 times now and have been very happy with the cuts, service, and vibe. Also, love the online booking option.

Got my haircut by Rafael, and man was he awesome! I've been going to the same guy for about 2 years, and just needed to find someone closer to home. Glad I found this place. Val Barber is a nice place, everyone was friendly. Not only did he cut my hair exactly how I wanted, but he did it was such detail, precision and efficiency. The guy I went to before would take an hour on my hair, whereas Rafael cut my hair in like 25-30 mins and did a way better job. Will be coming back and glad I found this place! read more

I am happy with the service and the vibe. People are very friendly here. The price is reasonable, and they do an outstanding job.

Buffy has cut my hair a few times now, and she is excellent. The shop itself has a comfortable, unrushed feel about it. She is my go to barber from now on. read more

This review is for Buffy. Tapered. It made all the difference. I didn't know what the fuck tapered meant, but she suggested it and I said sure, sounds good. My wife said this was the best haircut I've ever gotten, and my wife doesn't fuck around with compliments, so I know she's being truthful. Buffy's my barber. read more

My first time yesterday, but I plan on returning next month. My barber Buffy is cool and professional. She gave me a great cut. The vibe is "mans cave" or "clubhouse" with a rock-n-roll edge. Their music is good. The staff is warm. The parking is in back. Couldn't be easier to get in and out looking better and feeling relaxed. If you are in Sherman Oaks, Studio City or Valley Village this place is a no-brainer for a haircut or shave. Across the street is good pizza and Thai food for a bite after without moving your car. read more

Professional and kind and, best part, I was given a good haircut. And I didn't have to worry about finding parking. It's rare to have a simple, easy experience nowadays when trying a business for the first time. I almost expected to see a unicorn when I left. read more

A+ service. Cool retro vibe vibes. Easy parking around back. Prices are around the same as the corporate places, but the quality and consistency is much better read more

My 2 boys have been coming here for as long as I can remember, and feel confident recommending to all our friends. Rafael can clip, cut and shave like his Italian renaissance namesake, you will not be disappointed! read more

Love how easy it is to schedule an appointment through their website. My husband comes to Val's often to get a fade from Buffy. She does a great job and is always very friendly and professional. Highly recommend Buffy! read more

Friendly workers. The haircut was bad. Side burns and back of the neck were uneven. Bad blend job you could see the lines of each layer. Bad cut all around. Nice people and the place has cool vibes. Too expensive for the quality of work. read more

I just can't say enough amazing things about Val Barber! I started get my hair cuts here in Jan 2023, and have been a loyal customer ever since. My usual barber is Rafael..however he is rather popular and high in demand, so my back-up is Brad. They are both wonderful and are extremely skillful with the scissors and clippers. They know how to style and you can tell these gents are experienced and passionate in their work. Their online appointment system makes it very convenient to book a time, cancel, reschedule etc. I wish more hair stylist could adapt to this system, but Val Barber takes the lead and this is why I will continue to remain loyal to them! A typical men's haircut is $45, and I usually ask for a rinse and shampoo after. Parking is extremely generous and you can park directly on Magnolia or the surrounding side streets. There is also soft drinks, snacks and bottled water inside the shop while you wait for your haircut. What more can you ask for?! Thank you Val Barber!! read more

Val Barber is the best! I dropped in recently and Rafael told me it's best if I book an appointment online. And so I did. The website is very user-friendly, and I locked in an appointment that same day with Brad. The salon has a very cool vibe, including drinks and snacks. And it's clean. Brad is terrific! I honestly think it's the best haircut I've ever had. And he's super pleasant. Val Barber is now struck with me! read more

This one's for Rafa. He's been my barber for close to 15 years (and counting) and this man is exceptional with his services and cleanliness of the shop. Very clean fades and sharp trimming. His equipment is up-to-date and disinfects thoroughly. Very welcoming environment where you feel at home and comfortable. Prices are great compared to other locations. Parking is never really an issue as there is plenty. Come see Rafa you won't be disappointed. read more

I got my hair cut by José last week and have received so many compliments on it that I am just blown away. I often get haircut anxiety but with José I felt very comfortable as we discussed how I wanted my hair to look and what changes needed to be made. Each barber also has their own Spotify playlist and they take pride in the music that they play in the shop so you know you'll always a have a good vibe going on. Last night I was playing a "get to know you game" and one of the questions was "what do you think ____ gets complimented on the most?" For me, multiple people answered with "his hair." So that felt really good. Thanks Crimson Barbershop. read more

Went here after my long time barber moved away. Read the reviews, and they were absolutely right. Brad did me well! Great haircut, great vibes. Will be returning 100% read more

Been going to Rafael for over a year now and he ALWAYS provides a perfect fade/cut... 100% of the time... It has been my experience with past barbers that they give great cuts the first few times and then they become complacent. I prefer Rafael but I've seen the work of the other barbers and they do great work as well. I also like the atmosphere of the space... good music vibes and warm wood tones and colors. I also like that I can make an appointment with whomever I want and not wait for an hour for someone to become available. Not to mention the price... a fair price for exceptional quality. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a new shop to get your hair cut. read more

I've been getting my hair cut here since I've moved and you can't go wrong either either Brad or Raffi. Lots of experience between these two. Making appointments is very easy online and I like that they run on schedule and on time. The shop is always clean and has a great aesthetic to it. read more

Just moved to the area and was looking for a new barber, found this place on yelp with amazing reviews. I tried to book a cut with Rafael but he was all booked, luckily Mckynlie was available! She did a great job, listened to what I wanted, was friendly, quick, and easy to work with. The place is clean, well-decorated and welcoming. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

This place is great! Brad always cuts my hair and he does an amazing job. Very friendly environment and I highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

Had an appointment last Thursday (5/26) with Rafa for a hair and beard trim. Walking in, the vibe I got was laid back, but professional, and that bore out in my entire experience. Great cut, but the star of the show was the beard trim with the hot towel and strait razor. Relaxing as all heck, and I looked sharp when I got out of the chair. read more

I just got an amazing haircut from Raffi. He also trimmed by beard perfectly. I'll definitely be coming again.

Tried Rafael at Val Barber this week after finding them on Yelp.....so glad to find this gem of a local barbershop. Friendly, attentive, and did great hair cutting. Seems like you can choose anyone to try here and you will be more than pleased. Will be back every 3-4 weeks, thanks Rafael! read more

Val Barber - Barbers Near Me - Studio City, California

This little shop is one of a kind. At the entrance, you are greeted by a gentle doggo, Buckly (sp?) who serves as the first indicator of the experience you are about to go on when getting your haircut. I seated myself near the door and was almost instantly checked on by one of the available barbers. I was asked about the details of my appointment and waited for Sonny to free up. Another available barber whose station was near where I was seated offered me drinks from the mini-fridge nearby. When it was time for my session with Sonny, we shook hands and went through general introductions. I shared what I was looking for in my haircut and he said he'll be honest with feedback about options that would best suit my requests. During the session, I got the chance to ask Sonny about his history in the industry. If you decide to cut your hair with Sonny, I encourage you to do the same. The stories he shared showed how much he cares for what he does and how much he cares for his team of fellow barbers that are on The Crimson Barbershop journey with him. I left the shop wanting to come back just to have a good time! I highly recommend Sonny and his team for all of your hair grooming needs! You won't regret it! read more
