Our crew enjoyed every minute of this tour.

We had a fantastic Ski-Doo tour yesterday with Beau as our guide. I can't recommend this business enough. We were picked up on time and taken to their location on the mountain to begin our experience. All the employees affiliated with Backcountry Tours were professional and efficient at getting us processed and out on our ski-doos with a thorough safety briefing and general instructions on driving the ski-doo. About a third of the way through our tour we stopped at a yurt for homemade sweet snacks and a warm drink as well as a potty break! The views were breath taking and we have some of the most memorable photos. I highly recommend Vail Backcountry Tours if you are looking for an amazing outdoor experience off the slopes!

Outstanding service, stunning views, fun for novices or experienced riders a like. Great for a couple that wants to ride together. Quality equipment with hand warmers and a back for 2 passenger sleds. Super professional and friendly staff. Safe and fun. Worth doing while in Vail!

Our guide stops to point out where moose may be sighted.

This was a last minute decision and was one of the highlights of the trip! The staff was friendly and warm and the gear was top notch. Though it originally seemed expensive for a 2 hour tour our guide (Mark) gave us such an outstanding tour! We left all smiles and talking about doing it again next time! Money well spent m. Thank you Mark!

Yert where we stopped for hot cocoa, apple cider, food and to warm up. They even had phone & gopro chargers!

SICKEST EXPERIENCE EVER. Our tour dude was so cool. We can't remember his name but he said "yeet yeet" a lot and made us laugh, it was the best. He also knew all the best photo spots and could drive backwards very fast which was impressive lol Also shout out to the girl that runs the Yert, she's amazing.

Great experience with Vail Backcountry Tours! We have been snowmobiling before with another company in Winter Park, and this was hands down a way better experience! Greg was very friendly and funny. He made sure to check in with everyone multiple times throughout our trip. The stop at the yurt was a cute touch. Highly recommend!

We had an awesome snowmobile adventure yesterday. There was a blizzard but it just enhanced the experience! We had the two hour tour with Nathan as our guide. He always kept tabs on us to ensure we were doing well. Even told us we were his favorite tour ever! Okay, just for the day. 100% recommend!

For those of you reading this that semi regularly do tours, you know what I mean when I say a lot of times the tour guides are dickheads and snobbish. At Vail Backcountry Tours, you get none of that. What you do get at Vail Backcountry is some of the best and most friendly service ever. Literally every single employee was amazing. Drew (my guide) literally deserves employee of the year. Not just in his company, but like a special international award haha. Hes a solid dude. Never got tired of our group's questions, very professional, and super nice. He spent every free second talking to us favour the trails, the snowmobiles, and just about anything. I dont remember how long our tour was, like 2 or 3 hours, but I do recommend if you go, do the 3:30pm tour. The highlight of my trip was the ride back at night in the "wilderness" When in Vail and contemplating an adventure, book it with Vail Backcountry and go snowmobiling!! Until next time...

One of the photo pit stops -- there were 3/4 opportunities to get off machine, take pictures and take in the scenery

This is a MUST on any vacation to Vail highlight of the trip-- the entire production went very smooth/ Efficient and the staff really knew what they were doing, very prepared and always had a positive attitude. Big thanks to our guide Greg -- he was very helpful, always willing to take pictures since I didn't go with a big group and always made us feel safe. Would definitely recommend and would do it again the next time I come back!

A truly incredible experience I will never forget. I put this experience up there with riding camels at dusk in the Judaean desert in Israel or riding in a glass bottom helicopter over crystal blue waters and swimming sharks and sting ray schools over Bora Bora in French Polynesia. We had an incredible guide named Drew who clearly must love life and his job because he was incredibly kind and pleasant. He was nothing short of helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. The tour comes with all the gear you need. You gear up, take a short safety lesson, and ride out in small groups through back country in Vail. Our snowmobiles were beautiful and brand new. The scenery was breathtaking and it was a truly magical experience. At sunset we took a break in their yurt in the middle of the woods. The yurt has a beautiful old fashion heater, sweet snacks, and hot coffee, tea, and cider. It was like being a in different country. We hung out in the yurt and watched snowmobile lights make their way through the dark. What a hell of a tour company. Don't think twice, just book.

Friendly and informative staff + very organized process throughout which eliminated stress and maximized enjoyment for us. Best surprise: the snowmobiles are in great shape and the handlebars are heated in the front and in the back. I also enjoyed learning more about the area from the guide. Worry free service: Helmets and goggles are provided, or pretty much any other type of gear you need - they'll ask you at the start. They also offered to pick us up in a shuttle right from our hotel, which is amazing not needing to stress about how to get there! Two hour tour: Learning how to drive the snowmobile is easy to understand. There is a good variety of trail types and scenery to keep us entertained. There are opportunities for bathroom breaks along the way and lots of places to trade drivers if you're tandem. The bathrooms are porta potties but they are clean and roomy.

My wife and I did the 3:30pm 2-hour tour on a Friday in which it had been snowing for two days straight. There were avalanche warnings throughout the region which concerned us a bit, but they reassured us the tour was not in an avalanche zone and that the conditions were great for the tour. We were so happy we did the tour as not only was the scenery beautiful, but it was a lot of fun too. They were very clear on how to operate the snowmobiles and our guide Nathan could not have been nicer. From the pick up at our hotel all the way through the drop off, we loved everything about it.

All right folks... if there is any hesitation regarding booking this trip please feel at ease. This group provides such an excellent day of fun. Everything to keep you warm is provided. Our guide was "Paul". His knowledge and attention to detail was second to none. The whole team at VBT comes highly recommended. The mid-way stop at their yurt gave us an excellent history of the area. Honestly the best activity I have had in years.

This is one of those things that you absolutely must do! After some research, my partner decided to give me this as a pre Valentine's Day gift and we both enjoyed it a lot! They picked us up at our resort and while we picked up other clients, we filled out and signed the typical waiver. Our driver ended up being our tour guide. If you can, make sure you request Greg R! He was witty, friendly, patient, knowledgeable and overall a great guide. You start at their base camp where you get special equipment: special snow boots (remember to go one size higher than you normally wear), and a helmet. Greg then takes you to your snowmobile and goes thru some basic instructions. How the machine works, how to lean in order to help it turn, throttle, hand warmers (yes, they have hand warmers) and a few important hand signals. Once the group was all ready, off we went up the mountain. On one side you have mountain and on the other, you have a cliff with amazing views. Note to self: if you are riding tandem (two per snowmobile, the one in the back feels the bumps more so than the one driving). At one point we reached a big valley where they had built a sort of race track where Greg let us loose. We did several laps around the track. After that, we continued on our tour of the back country. Truly inspiring and beautiful with all the snow. It was a sunny day so that made it even more beautiful. At one point we stopped at this area from where you could see and appreciate all the ski runs in Vail! One of the coolest parts? Snowmobiling in between the trees in spots that were tight enough that you could reach out and touch the tree branches. We went back to the valley where the race track was for lunch. They have built this yurt there where lunch is served. Good food considering you are in the middle of nowhere. Mac and cheese, pulled pork, chicken poblano soup, brownies, lemon bars (the best!!) and chocolate chip cookies. They had coffee, hot chocolate, water and a couple more choices in terms of beverages. After lunch, it was time to head back down to the base. On our way there, you get to experience the views again. Do not miss snowmobiling with vail backcountry tours! You will not regret it!!
