Scammers. The person who they sent to diagnose my fridge issues is from Turkey...Bahlul is his…read morename. He sent a text saying he is from Caspi Home Service & was texting to give me a heads up of his arrival. He is from Turkey, & to say his English & u/standing of it was bad is an understatement...could NOT comprehend what he was saying. There was a HUGE communication barrier. He rolled up in an older Toyota Camry...Massachusetts licence "6NPV 98". I did discern that he had lived there...had been doing appliance repair for less than two years, & it seemed like he was saying their home office is NOT here in SC, & there are technicians here/there that are dispatched to service things. He DAMAGED my hardwood floor after removing my freezer door & SLIDING it w/o placing any blanket down...he could NOT get my freezer door back in afterwards & the freezer door REMAINS unable to be closed all the way. I noticed it when he was getting ready to leave when I saw LIGHT coming from between the seal & fridge. The drawer in the freezer is pretty much all jacked up...won't sit on the track right...there is extreme difficulty in even getting it back IN...the LCD lights on the door are "locked" & I can't access any of the controls...no temp...no light where water/ice dispense, etc. He could NOT quote me on the repair that we called them on initially...could no produce a written quote, NOR could he even u/stand how to email or text me the info. Again, COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN!!! He does not speak English. Illegal? I dunno, but a "dangerous" consideration. A/way... Like the o/person who commented, I tried calling their main number while he was here but NO answer. Instead, TEXT REPLIES!!! They said, "Sorry...I am documenting e/thing...I will add that to your file...I'll have the home office reach out to you 1st thing tomorrow, etc, etc... You will NOT be able to speak to a/one!!! I did NOT pay the guy for the "service" call...again, he caused MORE damage to the fridge than before he GOT here, & damaged our floor on top of it!!! In my text messages to whomever it was on the receiving end, I was sending them pictures...a video, & only got lip service telling me they'll take care of us. After about 20 minutes AFTER he thought he completing the diagnosis & after TRYING to get my freezer door to shut, he threw his hands up & said, "I'm done...I'm tired, & I'm leaving", yet he had the AUDACITY to ask me if I wanted a receipt for the service call!!! Look, he couldn't even UNDERSTAND what a receipt was (as I motioned writing with my hand on a piece of paper). I was texting with whomever saying, "Hey...you call him...have him send YOU a bill/receipt, & YOU forward it to me". They said, "We unfortunately can't communicate with the tech" RU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? smh On & on I could go explaining he fiasco. I have plenty more back/forth text messages between myself & who knows who, while the wanna-be tech was here. The one submitted are not in order.

Poor communication. Asked to speak with Manager, owner, or…read moretechnician. None responded. Supposedly a delay on parts hower readily available on Amazon at way less than they are charging me.

I called Midlands Appliance Service on 12/10/2024 regarding and issue with my Whirlpool Dryer. I…read morehad previously called Sears Appliance Repair (Sears Home Services) to come out and fix my Whirlpool dryer. It would not rotate or start after you hit the power and start button. Sears was very easy to schedule a call and I was surprised when you go on the internet that they were available the very next day. All seemed great. They showed up ant the technician opened the top of the dryer, hit the power/start button and hear a click from the control board. Dryer wouldn't rotate. He immediately said "The board is bad". He looked up the part and said "We don't carry the board and can't get it". My wife said "So what are you saying, we have to get a new dryer?" He just shrugged and said we could probably find it on Amazon. So we looked up the part and he said that it would work. I have an electronics background so I told him I'd order the board and put it in. I said if it didn't work I would call them back. I got the board three days later, put it in and it had the same problem. So I called them and got their voicemail..said I needed them to return. I get a voicemail response that they would be out the next day. They never showed. This went on for a whole week, one day after another...with them telling me they'd be out and then not showing. Finally after four days of this I called Midlands Appliance Service to see if they could come out. I spoke with Steven Woodlief and he said if I'd called him 3 hours earlier he could've stopped out then. I told him the problem with the dryer and he said it was crazy that they didn't check out the thermal relay or switches or anything prior to jumping on the board being bad. He explained where the thermal relay was located and told me of a YouTube video that would show me where it was. I took the front of the dryer off, found the thermal fuse and checked it for continuity. It was open. I went out and ordered the fuse the next morning for $8.16 and replaced the fuse. It's been working great ever since. So no, I did not have to use Midlands for an actual service call, but the help Steve gave me was above and beyond the call of duty. This is what a good service organization should be like. I have gone to Better Business Bureau, Comsumer Protection Agency and my bank in order to try and refund the $129 bad diagnosis and service Sears Appliance Repair gave me. They do not have a live person and no matter what you call you can only get a voicemail routine that sends you back to the beginning. They do not have a phone number, and their address is listed as Sears in the now defunct Sears building in Columbia Mall. Take heed. Never use Sears Appliance Repair, but take your business to Midalnds Appliance Service instead
