The basic like linens and towels were clean, but it seemed like the house had not had a deep cleaning in a long time. Seating cushions were stained and when I lifted them up, there was bits of food underneath from some previous guest. The bathroom in the room I stayed in had some issues where some fixtures were misinstalled or needed service and sprayed were you don't want them spraying. And the A/C in the master bath was broken when I arrived. There was a note saying they were aware it was broken, but no one came by to fix it during my stay. The fan in the room was not adequate to cool the room in the afternoon. And the type of breakage of the A/C (apparently it leaked water) suggests it was not regularly maintained (eg the condensate drainage lines were not maintained and clogged). I will say on the positive side, the house had a beefy EV charger, which was super handy. EDIT: Msg to Haustay - I stayed as a guest on someone else's reservation. Airbnb knew about it (I have the emails). No idea why you don't.

I'm sharing my experience to help others avoid the same stress and unfair treatment. I'll gladly update this review if they resolve this matter fairly, but as of now, my experience has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

I am always contacted prior to repairs and purchases for approval. The management portal system the company uses to track expenses and income is easy to access and there are several reports you can generate at the end of the year for easy tax filing purposes. They charge the typical 10% of the rent, which is definitely worth it as they make sure the place remains rented with quality tenants who pay their rent on time. They are also extremely responsive to the tenants. I am thankful I have them as my property manager and would highly recommend them if you have a property anywhere in north county.

What seemed to be the perfect wedding venue turned out to be a horrific experience. Mr. Miller the owner of two Southern California homes sold us a dream wedding at his San Marcos home. We rented the venue for an entire week expecting to host some immediate family from out of town. Two days before the wedding Mr. Miller breached his contract by denying us the use of the extra parking he promised us for our guest. He told us his brother Vincent would be there to help us out in case of an emergency, but his brother was only there to kick out my guest, denying them the use of the restrooms. I had elderly guest two being my great grandmother and grandmother who Vincent yelled at telling them they had to use the potter potties outside. When I specifically told Mr. Miller mine and my husbands immediate families along with our bridal party and elderly disabled guest would be using the indoor restrooms. He never once told us that would not be permitted until the day of the wedding. Our outdoor wedding reception was cut short by Mr. Miller showing up at the venue with his dog kicking out all our guest. Craig Miller threaten my wedding decorator that she could not pick up any tables or chairs or he would call the cops on her. We were forced to take Mr. Miller to court. What should have been an unforgettable day became a PURE NIGHTMARE. Our special day was robbed from us by this monster. To add to the horror we found out that Craig Miller has been functioning his vocational rentals/wedding venues with NO PROPER PERMITS HE IS ILLEGAL!

When we decided to sell the property this year in 2018, Tim was our natural choice after our positive experience when we purchased this property. His wife Andrea has since joined the business, together as the Holsten Team, and she is adept at staging properties for the market. We listed the property in mid-March with some apprehension, since the new tax laws have negatively impacted the market for second homes. As such, we assumed our buyer would either be purchasing it as a primary residence or as a rental property. Originally, we staged it as a primary residence, but when the response was tepid, we discussed with Tim the idea of focusing on staging it primarily as an income property. His flexibility and willingness to listen to our ideas, and his advice along the way, proved vital as we transitioned to stage it for the vacation rental market. As we continued to rent it, Tim coordinated the showings with other agents and had open houses during the brief windows when the place was vacant. We had an offer less than a month later! And with Tim's help during the negotiations, we were able to get full asking price. While listing and selling is critical, closing escrow can be challenging, as well. There are many stages and complexities we never fully realized existed until we sold our place. Tim was great at managing the entire closing process, start to finish. He was diligent, professional, and always helpful. Andrea added great insights, too. We live in Orange County and if we ever decide to sell our home, we would love it if Tim would be willing to drive an hour north to help us. The Holsten Team is great, and we would use them again in a heartbeat, and highly recommend them to others.

Both times were in pretty crazy market circumstances, and he was the calm force for us while we made some big decisions. What I like most about him is that he is a genuinely nice guy, ethical, someone anyone would want to do business with. He isn't that "sales-y" guy that is pushy or embarrassing as your representative. He is earnest and I think other agents appreciate that. Which, in the end, is good for getting what you need, I think. If you want someone who is really there to help you, who is prompt with all communication and takes the time to explain anything you need about real estate, Tim is your guy. He really goes the extra mile for you, and in a stressful situation like a buying/selling your property, you will need him!
