Crumbs found along floor under kitchen cabinet
Sandra B.

Timber Top in Helen, Ga rental company Vacasa. PLEASE BE AWARE... I would NOT recommend this cabin or company! I would like to say the ONLY nice thing about this cabin was convenience to the town of Helen and how quiet it was. We stayed from August 8th to August 15, 2020. Brought our pets for a week of relaxing and getting away from the hustle of the big city. Prior to arrival I received a message via e-mail giving directions, code and wi-fi instructions. Along with how much they take pride and praise the cleaning of each cabin. With Covid-19 we were reassured we would arrive to a clean and safe environment. How each cabin is cleaned using high grade cleaning materials. That all surfaces, linens, all touched surfaces would be cleaned and sanitized. I beg to differ on that claim. NOT CLEAN didn't smell... just not CLEAN!!! I was prepared with my own cleaning wipes. sprays etc to spray down areas and items such as remotes, light switches, door knobs etc which I did before bringing any personal items into cabin. ( i removed comforters from beds and put in closets, I placed washed sheets on couches) l feel never can be too safe. So after unpacking and getting settled my watch fell off behind the night stand and to my disgust i found dust and debris. (see photos) Not good if you have brought your small pets like we did or have small children. I found a small white pill under the bed in the other bedroom. We brought our pets and found this quite disturbing as we were reassured the cleanliness of the cabin. Clean NO, NOT AT ALL!! Floors throughout were dusty (we wore socks or shoes the entire time while inside) The Hot tub was warm even setting to 102 degrees not hot! Only The right side jets worked. The patio floor was filthy ( no rugs), cobwebs galore! Nothing like the photos in the ad! There is ABSOLUTELY no view from any window or door except trees! Now some may find this ok just giving a heads up! The drive from the main road will scrape the front of your car so becareful when pulling in. It is a ONE WAY STEEP UPHILL incline road to the cabin that is shared by 3 other cabins. Luckily we had no issues coming in or out. The incline up to Timber Top is yet steeper and a sharp turn to the right bumpy gravel drive. Steep incline parking to the left of the cabin and straight back on side of cabin is flatter. The shower heads are small and very high up so if you are 6'7" you're good otherwise good luck. (there is a hose attachment) you just never feel quite rinsed off. Hot water was hot using the shower was a bit tricky... FYI pull down is just under water spout. The bedroom closest to the front door has ZIP TIES holding the frame to the bed. I will say the Beds were comfortable. The back bedroom bed is quite high up. Not bad I'm 5'6" and had to HOP into the bed. Kitchen is well stocked although they need to update the utensils as they are sparse and very cheap. The Floors were filthy... you could see clorox or swifter wet streaks throughout cabin. Washer/Dryer works fine, Washer needs to be balanced as it bounced and shifted in closet. Plenty of towels etc The fireplace was left with ashes from a previous guest. The AC worked great the fan in front bedroom wobbled which was a bit annoying the back bedroom not sure about the fan. TVs are large and perfect for the distance from beds and couches. This cabin needs several up dates toilets are very low to ground. And although they have a handy capped ramp leading up to back of house! This is not a handicap equip home. Flood lights in the back did not work Out side Fire pit was large The cooking grill on back patio was VERY CLEAN I feel that Vacasa should be a lot better on the cleaning especially with COVID out there. Wash linens and dishes prior to using. Games where in shelf above washer and many pieces missing. Large side table in living area had several items strewn about such as playing cards, toy cars etc. Cabin is very over priced. Should be a 99.00 a night cabin, not 200.00. Will not go back to this cabin nor use vacasa again. They don't take cleaning as serious as they say at least not in Sautee Noochee, Ga (near Helen) We did notify Vacasa and were told they were sorry for the inconvenience and would talk to cleaning staff about being more thorough! Don't Stay here

Upon arrival at our rental in the mountains, we discovered a huge burn hole through the center of the deck, with support beams burned and compromised on the underside of the deck as well. A 5,000 plus pound hot tub is 5-6 feet from the burn hole, putting more weight on the compromised wood. The entrance to the rental is through the deck, making it unavoidable. We have pets and small children with us!! Someone had placed a huge pot over the burn hole to try and cover it, but it's clearly still visible. The safety negligence on the property is severe! We immediately tried to contact the main and local offices for Vacasa. We filed an urgent report, but no one has responded to us with a resolution. Two hours after we filed the report, the water shut off at the house. This was last night. We spent the night in a house with no running water, which is a biohazard, and a burn hole through the deck. We would have packed up and left immediately, but it was a long trip here and we would not have believed it would be 16 hours later with no response for Vacasa regarding these serious safety issues.

We stayed at a home managed by Vacasa on Quivira in Dauphin Island, AL. The layout of the house worked well for what we needed but the photos online were very misleading. Loved the sun room and back deck area. There was a lot of kitchen items for us to use, which was nice. I was a little surprised at how edited the photos were in comparison to that actual thing. Landscaping and ground cleanup need to happen. The dishwasher isn't secured in the cabinet and the bottom fell on my mothers foot. Secondary bathroom shower faucet leaks. Several rusted drains. Beds and pillows aren't really very comfortable. The unkept garage area wasn't photographed so it was a little bit of a surprise as well. Some of the back deck boards on right side need replacement. The living room couch looks like it's been clawed by a cat. The sunroom recliner is falling apart. The lamp on the right side of the living room doesn't work. A little cleanup and some upgrades would go a long way.

Install blinds that actually work.

We rented the Unforgettable Cabin from Vacasa Rentals and had a hard time finding the place due to the address numbers missing and the driveway almost non visible. The pictures are very deceptive as this cabin is very dated and in need of a lot of maintenance. Also extremely dirty, this cabin hasn't had a good cleaning in a long time, clocks didn't work because the batteries haven't been replaced, light bulbs burnt out in several rooms and a broke leg on the coffee table, the outdoor furniture cushions are as flat as pancakes and as nasty as a meth lab, and the toaster doesn't work. No secenic views from any window, and you'd think for $400 bucks a night this would be a top notch place where you wouldn't have to haul your own trash off, but far from it. Way, way, way over priced and under cared for. They aren't even trying to impress their customers, Unforgettable is about right but for all the wrong reasons. Avoid this cabin and be wise to Vacasa rentals. Never again! RESPONSE UPDATE: How about a show of your commitment to your customers by a partial refund for such a low quality service and product? Then we would consider Vacasa again.

Trout fishing from back yard of property

Cabin "A River Runs Through It" in Blue Ridge, GA was great! Our family took advantage of every perk the cabin has to offer. We fished for trout from dawn 'til dusk, had great conversation by the fire, and used the game room for some competition. Tubing down the river was an option but we decided the water was just too cold for us on this trip. We loved every minute of it! Highly recommend.

Missing dining chair

We reserved Six Bears Lodge in Blue Ridge. The actual cabin does not look like the photos. It did not have a king bed as advertised. Numerous things broken. Only 5 dining chairs. Comforters were dirty. And more. Over a 24 hour period I sent 4 emails and called 3 times to get help with the issues and let Vacasa know. After speaking with numerous agents I was informed that 2 twin beds should have been slid together to make a king and they would bring the bedding by so that we could do that. (Which they never did) They offered to come do it for me but everyone (party of 11) would have to leave the cabin before they came in. I was not comfortable with that. When asked what they could do to rectify the situation I said refund 2 nights. The supervisor called back to tell me that they would only do a loss amenity refund of $200. I would say losing an entire king bed sleeping arrangement, torn and missing furniture, broken curtain rods, missing door knobs, dirty tubs, leaking sink... more than a "lost amenity ". I would not recommend using Vacasa as they do not care whether you have a good experience or not and don't try to make it right. ****Obviously Molly C. didn't read my entire review. It wasn't JUST the bedding issue but lack of cleanliness, maintenance, customer service, etc... that also needs addressing and compensated. This cabin was a huge let down. But, kudos to the person who does the photo shopping for their listings as they made it look way better than it is.

Mountain Top Cabin Rentals - The balcony and bbq

Mountain Top Cabin Rentals

For the last three years we have planned a "friendcation" to Blue Ridge, Georgia and every year…read morewe've used Mountain Top Cabin Rentals to book our cabin. Mountain Top Cabin Rentals offers luxury cabins to accommodate every occasion from cozy romantic getaways to large family reunions. Each year we've been thoroughly pleased with our accommodations as well as the customer service from Mountain Top Cabin Rentals. This year we booked our trip very last minute. We were lucky to even get a cabin considering we were only a couple weeks away from our desired time. We needed a place that would sleep at least six adults. We ended up booking a cabin that was nice but probably wouldn't have been our first choice had we not planned our trip last minute. Mountain Top Cabin Rentals gave us a 10% discount for being repeat customers (they also offer a 10% military discount). The first year we stayed in Bear Retreat. This cabin has a very similar layout to the one we stayed in this year, featuring a bedroom on each floor. That year we stayed in the downstairs bedroom which had an amazingly comfortable king sized bed, sitting area, wet bar, and private balcony with hammock (where I spent every morning admiring the mountains). Last year we stayed in Blue Sky Lodge which was a beautiful cabin perched high in the mountains. The road to Blue Sky Lodge was gravel, winding, and steep; if we had not been traveling in an all-wheel-drive car, we would have struggled to make it to the top. (The cabin description includes the disclaimer that a 4×4/AWD vehicle is necessary to make it to the top and they weren't joking!) But the view from the cabin was stunning and well worth the drive. We spent every night wrapped up in blankets sipping cocktails by the outside fireplace. The kitchen featured state of the art appliances and a gas range. Our only complaint about the cabin was the hard beds. Otherwise, it was perfect. This year we stayed in Big Sky View. This three bedroom cabin offers a screened in porch with full view of the mountainscape. The open kitchen was nice for our cooperative cooking. We stayed in the upstairs master suite which featured a screened in balcony, garden tub, and loft that was perfect for Emme. We had a few complaints about this cabin, like the second floor tub didn't drain, it was missing tools for the fireplace, the sheets on the downstairs bed were dirty, and kitchen needed some better supplies. But we also have been so spoiled by the previous years that this cabin just didn't seem as on par. All three of the cabins we've stayed in have provided amenities like a hot tub, grill, pool table, and indoor fireplace. Upon checking out this year, we asked for recommendations on the best cabins. Without skipping a beat, both customer service representatives suggested Amazing Grace as their most popular cabin. They also let us know they would be adding two new cabins to their properties. We will continue to use Mountain Top Cabin Rentals so long as we make trips to Blue Ridge.

However, I finally made it out here with my girlfriend (we are 31 and 28 years old). The town is small and nightlife minimal, but it has the perfect little bars and restaurants for a meal and light social life (pool tables or karaoke) before coming home to enjoy the beautiful fire pit and hot tub. That being said, the cabin is in a perfect quiet location with a beautiful view and you could stay in the cabin and cook on the balcony bbq and just enjoy nature. We will definitely be coming back.

At that time you'll receive a reminder that your trip is coming up and you're emailed a map of the cabin grounds. You'll need it. Print it. On the day off (I may have gotten it the night before but checkin wasn't until 3pm anyway), I received another email and text with the actual address, my cabin name and the pin code to get inside. I actually like this. It's a safety measure. So onto the review.... What can I say? I love this place and it's likely going to be my little secret (amongst my friends anyway ) for as long as I can keep it a secret. These Getaway Cabins are popping up across the country. I had no clue until a night was gifted to me that they existed. After checking out their Instagram and seeing all the rave reviews I decided to book my visit in February. New car. Road tested. Let's go! Did I mention I'm a little afraid of death drops off the side of mountainous roads? Yeah, there's that but I survived going up and coming down those sharp twisty turny roads without looking at those drops. About halfway up I pulled over to take a pic of a mini waterfall and graffiti art on the mountain wall. My picture probably doesn't do it justice but it was dope. Moving along through confederate country. Finding the cabins from the road wasn't hard. Finding my cabin was a little tricky for me for some reason. I think it was because I printed the map without enlarging it and my eyes aren't as young as they used to be. But when I did I was so pleased. All the cabins have people names and I stayed in Doreen. This was a middle of the week visit so it was actually quiet but fairly partially inhabited. There are trails to walk (it rained while I was there so I skipped it). All the things you might need (some for an extra but small fee) are available to you including prepackaged food. The bed was super comfy and the cabin cozy. If you have a pet, they have a food bowl under the sink. They provide cookware and utensils. There's a mini fridge and a 2 eye range. The views are picturesque. Simply beautiful and tranquil. I plan to stay at least 3 days next time. I didn't partake in any of the outside options (fire pit, trails) because of the rain but next time I hope to be able to fire up the pit. I've mentioned the rain a couple times but it was indeed a gift. If you've ever experienced the sound of rain hitting a tin roof, then you know based on my very short stay, I literally drove 4 hours from home to get the best sleep of my adult life. The only complaint I had, was I lost hot water midway of my shower. Not cool for a girl living with anemia but I survived. It's taken me a minute to review because I posted the pics and I simply forgot. What I will do next time for my more extended stay: buy food to cook. I didn't use any of the food they supply (for a fee) but I would have had I not had some keto food with me. Which leads to my next thought, not off carbs next time. I passed some places I'd like to dine at and there's no point skipping carbs . I'll also be sure to walk the trail. I'd also bring a cooler with drinks so they're cold until the fridge is turned on and cold. The fridge is turned off upon arrival and it took forever to get my drinks cold. Last, I'll bring someone I really like. Final word, I love this little getaway and it's perfect for anyone who wants to disconnect (there's no Media access of any kind and cell service is patchy). I slept. I read. I reflected. Then I slept some more. It was awesome. Oh yeah, I agree with the first reviewer about what to bring. While mosquitos weren't my issue (it was February), there were lady bugs EVERYWHERE. But I couldn't kill them. I just couldn't. They mostly kept to the walls.

How did you know I love the outdoors and can't resist certain millennial-influenced excursions?) I told shawty, and we booked night. Simply go on their website, choose the date(s), enter how many adults (and if you're bringing your pup), and start planning. Things we brought that you should bring: - Food: they have cans and some instant stuff, but I wouldn't call anything substantial (or particularly healthy). - Bug spray: The mosquitos didn't come out in full force, but no one wants to be eaten alive. - Metal tongs with rubber grip: I used the wooden ones from the kitchen - I hope they don't charge me - and got by. - Clothes: For obvious reasons. Don't forget sandals and windbreaker in case it rains. - Toiletries: Toothpaste, toothbrush, etc... - Dish soap: They provided hand soap, but no dish soap to wash plates, bowls, silverware, etc. What they provided: - Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap - A comfy bed (which could use a heavier comforter/ blanket) w/ four pillows - Running water - Full-functioning toilet - Electricity - An easy-to-use campfire with a fire starter kit and logs - Complimentary s'more kit - Cellphone lockbox, things to do during your getaway, and more The morning of the Getaway, they emailed and texted the address of the location. (An entire area exists in the Blue Ridge Mountains.) Since the location resides in the boonies, I suggest downloading an offline map in order to help you navigate there. GuruMaps or even utilize Google Maps' offline feature. If you don't, you're sort of screwed trying to find it. Regarding prices, they vary. Sometimes you can find a deal if you book late. We paid around $140, but saw nights (last minute) for $90. Overall: If you're looking to for a unique way to spice things up, or in my case figure out my crazy love life, Getaway might be a good option for ya.

Very misleading the directions we got was ridiculous we were coming from Chattanooga but their directions brought us from Atlanta. Why not just give people the physical home address with the street address and let them Google it themselves. You treat people as though they are too stupid to know how to Google the address. We had to end up asking local people where the specific road it was on was because we drove around a half an hour trying to find it with the crappy directions provided from you. It would have been so much easier if we had the house number the name of the road the house was on and let us Google it from our home. The 12 pages of fine print rules should be given to someone before all the money has been paid and they're locked into a contract they may not want to be in. Had I have read all those rules before you got my money I probably would not have agreed to it. I have cleaned hotels from Holiday inn Express to Roach motels on highway 19 in Florida. Nowhere I have worked has ever required the guest to have a checklist they're required to do. I paid an extra $200 over what the room was supposed to cost for cleaning yet my guest and I were required to strip the beds take out the trash load and unload the dishwasher.... All the cleaning staff had to do was do the laundry which consists of the sheets and the towels they apparently do not wash their comforters . So when you sit on the comforter you're sitting on whatever the last guest left behind. Their ad said lake and a mountain views all we could see were trees. Had to leave the property to see any mountains or lakes rivers anything. This was my first vacation I'm in my 60s it wasn't what I had hoped it would be. They say their dog friendly yet don't want any dog hair on the furniture the beds I brought my own blankets from home to cover all of their stuff so that my dog could be on the furniture . Not very dog friendly if my dog isn't allowed to sit on the couch or sleep in the bed with me like he would at home. Then when I try to bring this to their attention they blocked me on Facebook and ignore my emails they are not the only game in town guess I'll be checking out Big sky or somewhere else nearby there or maybe go to Gatlinburg next year. I wanted to come back to sliding Rock and rent something on the water but I'd be afraid what I would get would not match the photos they show I feel like that is false advertisement. The gas grill on the back porch I had planned on making burgers on it but they can't even bother to put batteries in it so that you can light it it had plenty of gas just couldn't light it. My roommate said it needed batteries same thing for the lanterns on the table I would like to have used them but they did not have batteries either. For what you charge your guest you could at least put batteries in stuff so that they can use it. Why show a gas grill if it is not where guests can use it. The cabin itself and all the little knick-knacks I but the photos of the outside did not match . You could have avoided this bad review buy a dressing my concerns privately but no you wanted to ignore and block me this is what happens when you choose to ignore and block your guest then I'll review I did elsewhere they basically came on there and called me a liar.

When we took the coupon to the chocolate shop, the young man working there refused to honor it. He said he had always been told to give one piece of chocolate only. We asked him to read the coupon again because this was not what it stated, nor was it what the concierge said. He still refused. My boyfriend told him that the partnership needed to fix their coupons if they weren't going to honor them. Anyway, the cabin was clean and cozy, and the bed was very comfortable other than the pillows. Sheets were buttery soft. Overall I was happy with our stay.

We stayed in cabin 1 and our friends stayed in cabin 4 for a week. I agree with other reviewers that there is a great deal of peace and tranquility at this country location. The view of the grass area and mountains is incredible. I also agree that the owner is kind. There was plenty of room and the price was very reasonable. Everything to to make meals was there with the curious exception of silverware. There were exactly 2 forks spoons and knives. When we had our friends join us for meals they and to bring their silverware. The television was modern and lots of streaming channels to view when we wanted. Regarding internet, the property's internet was nonexistent for the first 3 days and then worked occassionally after that. None of our devices could connect very long. Curiously the Fire TV worked well the whole time. However there are several things which at first glance appear wonderful, but ....Upon initial opening of the door there was a pretty severe smell to the cabin - maybe mold. I just figured it needed to be opened up, but if you are sensitive you would have to turn around and leave. As I walked into the bedroom area I brushed against the log wall. I turned around in the bathroom and noticed my black top was covered in dust all along my side. I went to the kitchen sink for a glass of water and noticed the thick dust and then my eyes went up to the three quarter wall. The numerous silk plants were covered in cobwebs and dust. I noticed the smell from the kitchen sink and took up the right side drainer to find a thick ring of mold down the drain. Then I went to the bathroom area shower and noticed black/green mold all along the shower enclosure. There were dirty footprints all in the shower stall. Thinking I was staying here a week I couldn't deal with it. I spent about 2.5 -3 hours cleaning all of the curved log walls and dusting all of the bric a brac. Anything that I couldn't wash like the plants went outside on the porch for the rest of the week. I found some cleaning products inside and luckily there were plenty. I also bought a bottle of bleach and used the whole quart. The lampshades were covered in some stains and dust very thick. They really need replacing. The upholstered furniture is extremely worn and I suppose that is why there are throws on them. But the throws are just as old. There was all sorts of hair on one of them, not sure if it was human or animal. Additionally we found our bed to be severely firm. While this is normally a problem we went and bought a mattress topper that made it comfortable for the rest of the stay. After a few days we also found so that many things in the cottage were broken, including several vertical blinds, the lamp on the bedside attached to the wall didn't have a switch - broken off. A lamp for makeup didn't have a lightbulb. But it didn't matter because when plugged in it didn't work anyway. The large oval rug had a huge hole in it at the seam that caught my heel and iI almost fell. The cottages come equipped with gas fireplaces for the winter BUT THERE ARE NO SMOKE DETECTORS. I notified the owner on the first night of our stay and they were never provided. Our friend's cabin was just as unclean as ours. I didn't say anything to my friends and they had exactly the same reactions and observations as us. There is a game room in the front of the red barn that had lots of full size table games in it including air hockey, a billard table, a couple of slot type machines, and a foosball table. These are all in good working order. Unfortunately this room was just as broken down as parts of our cottage. It too DESPERATELY needed cleaning and repair of the pin ball machines and the juke box. It could be a fantastic place to hang out. There were also some video type games, but they were in disarray all over the floor so I don't know if they worked or not. I believe these cottages were very comfortable at one point in time, however they have really gone to disrepair and maintenance. With some infusion of investment and TLC and updates they could once again gain their luster.

The only downside was the 10:00 a.m. checkout time, which felt a little early, but everything else exceeded expectations. Communication was outstanding from start to finish. Before check-in, during our stay, and leading up to checkout, every question I had was answered proactively. The cabin we rented on Trina Lane was perfect for our family. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into every detail. Helpful instructions were placed throughout the cabin in a way that was both decorative and informative, making everything easy to navigate without feeling overwhelming. The owners truly thought of everything, from extra batteries and firewood for the outdoor fireplace to all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay. The cabin was spacious, comfortable, and offered plenty of privacy thanks to the surrounding trees between neighboring cabins. Highlights included a fun game room with shuffleboard, an outdoor television, built-in bunk beds, a large dining table for gathering together, and three levels of sleeping areas that can comfortably accommodate up to ten guests. Check-in was incredibly easy. We were provided with a unique entry code and detailed directions, which were helpful since GPS could have led us to the wrong location. The views were beautiful, the neighborhood was quiet, and the entire experience was stress-free and enjoyable. I highly recommend this company, and especially this cabin on Trina Lane. If you're considering a cabin getaway, this is a fantastic choice.
