Hampton Inn Blue Ridge - Exterior

This is my first review for this particular Hampton, but we've stayed here a couple of times in the…read morepast. We enjoy the Scenic Railway in Blue Ridge and really, if you're doing the 4 hour train ride, staying here is just the best option because of the location. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. One of my favorite things about the room is how many charging outlets there are. Some of the rooms also face the train, which is a nice view. Just note, the rooms that say "balcony" are not the typical hotel balcony with chairs. It's just a small step. Sadly, I don't have a picture. Breakfast is typical Hampton breakfast, with waffle makers, omelettes, sausage, oatmeal, fruit, and yogurt. Parking is closed off for hotel customers only (probably to keep out train customers who aren't staying at the hotel), but if you book on the app, your digital key will open the gate for you. There's also a $14.96 parking fee per stay (not per night) added to your total. Overall, great location for the Scenic Railway and highly recommend if you're in the Blue Ridge area.

When we pulled up to the gated parking, we were told (with a seriously b**chy tone) that it's "only for guests of the hotel." and I said "but we are guests of the hotel, just not staying in the rooms." they still said no. after I parked and we went inside, I went and asked the front desk again for clarity, and the answer was the same. when I pointed out nobody was using the chargers, he said it was "hotel policy" and there was nothing he could do. here's the thing: I get you have policies. I also get you want to have some control over who's allowed in your car park. but the restaurant is situated *in your hotel* (not next door, or adjacent... on the top floor) so y'all need to have a conversation about what it means to be a "guest" at your "hotel" and if that includes the restaurant. the irony here is that, had that interaction gone better, I would have bookmarked this hotel as a potential place to stay with my family and charge my vehicle. but that will not happen now. I never expected Hampton Inn folks in Blue Ridge to be nasty and rude, but hey... live and learn.

They have always been extremely accommodating and the places where we have stayed have always been everything promised and more. Fireside Lodge is a very secluded place with all the accommodations we wanted. We especially enjoyed the fireplaces (both inside and out) since we got there at a chilly time. The leaves were beautiful and as always, plenty to do and enjoy around the Ellijay/Blue Ridge- or just enjoy the porch and cabin as we did a lot of the time. Will definitely be using them again in the future!

When we arrived late that evening the house was cold and dark and even then it smelled of pet odor. The next morning we noticed pet hair everywhere in the return ventilation on the floor, curtains, towels ,blankets ,beds it was nasty. But we had appointments to be at so we said we will deal with it later.Upon our return to relax we noticed that there were only two towels no problem we will just wash them as we need them. The washer and dryer set wasn't working so when we called we finally spoke to the maintenance on call said it's a timer issue as many time before . Sorry for the ramble but needless to say out of three showers in the place the only one clean enough to use was downstairs in the basement area where the heat didn't work. I could tell you about the floaters in the hot tub and the nasty curtains but you can go see for yourself if you wanna gamble Morning Breeze said they were sorry and would be happy to refund 100 $ for the inconveniences I declined . Never learned a lesson that I dint pay for Stay away !!!

We found cockroaches in the bathroom and the carpet was sticky. We are all for an old budget friendly hotel but this one is unsafe and a health concern. DO NOT believe the photos on their posting. Also the pool has been closed for years. I wouldn't spend $20 here let alone the $200 we got charged. The owner was rude and disrespectful when we kindly asked for a refund. It is most definitely an intentional scam. Save your money and sanity and go to the comfort inn or anywhere else.

Walls are a shocking shade of green, bath is a shocking shade of yellow. A horrendous room deodorizer hangs in the air and does not dissipate ( you will see the black mold in the photo, I think the deodorizer was to cover the smell). Low ceilings. All employees hung out in the parking lot. ALL of them. You had to go find them for service. I was treated like an alien at the front desk. He wouldn't speak clearly, just kind of mumbled weird answers at me. No WiFi. Exterior is like a Stephen King motel. Creepy AF I explained to what I think was the manger that I was. Calling the health department on Monday to report the hotel as a health hazard. PS I would rate it a zero if I could
