Dad has only been here for a few months but everything has been going great, questions always answered and requests have been met. Dad is fairly younger than the majority with memory impairment but the staff really help make him feel at home. Maria, who tends to dad's apartment has been really good to him and someone he looks forward to seeing. Shelly, the administrator has also been very helpful and accommodating. Dad always mentions how clean and well kept the building is and that maintenance staff is always someone he can go to. Dad is not one to join in on activities right now but as an Activity Director myself, they do an amazing job with special events and a full, well rounded activity calendar. So far so good.

Hanz and Amy Palma are Casa Palma, two of the most caring people I've ever met. But getting back to the difference between a SNF and a residential care home... A residential care home is a small board and care residence providing personalized care and 24-hour supervision. An RCFE (Residential Care Facility for the Elderly) license is a mandatory certification required by the California Department of Social Services to operate an assisted living facility. It ensures the facility meets state health, safety, and operational standards for elderly residents who cannot live independently. The home setting provided at Casa Palma is so refreshing, especially after being in so many sterile and uninviting SNFs. Their home is lovely, and so clean! My father has been through so much this past year (cancer, back surgery, major pain issues, immobility) and has been pretty much bedbound for many months. We tried caring for him in our home, but were unable to manage because of his special needs. Hans and Amy are caring and compassionate people, and provide the peace of mind families are searching for. To say Hans and Amy go above and beyond is an understatement. My father had to be admitted to the hospital early in the afternoon for what was later determined to be a UTI. It was about 8:00 pm when the hospital diagnosed the UTI. They would not keep him overnight, which was disconcerting for us. He was transported back to Casa Palma at midnight. Hans and Amy were right there to welcome him back. They spent time getting him a bite to eat, dressing him, putting him to bed... the transition was seamless. My father was very confused, but their kindness and caring helped to put him at ease. Hans and Amy kept us up to date on everything, frequently calling or texting us about any changes, even sending photos. There was never a time when I called or texted that they didn't respond within minutes. My father was on a lot of meds, a lot. Hans and Amy seamlessly kept track of them and administered all as prescribed, right on time each day. They would contact his doctor when meds were running low, even went to the the pharmacy to pick up the refills. My father has recently been relocated to Bakersfield to be with his brother and sister. Otherwise, he would still be in the exemplary care of Hans and Amy. I also want to acknowledge the staff at Casa Palma. Such caring people, especially Anna. She really clicked with my father. Casa Palma is a smaller, cozier setting with caring and compassionate caregivers. My family will never forget their kindness.

When he was here I felt like we could all relax and he was able to feel more like at home so he could heal. The staff and owners were wonderful, caring and knowledge people. They were wonderful to my grandfather and to us when we visited. The home was always clean and well maintained and is not overtly religious, which many of the home we looked at were. As most of our family are secular and not religious this was very important for comfortability. The home has individual rooms and access to both front and back yard outdoor spaces. It's also relatively centrally located in Fairfield so we could grab any items he needed or wanted before our visits. I'd definitely recommend this care home to anyone. It was the only place that felt comfortable to my family and I.

Yes it is a bit older of a place but SO CLEAN and the decor throughout is just wonderful and fun. Lots of areas (also kept very well) to walk around and even a glider-swing on one of the patios that accomodates wheelchairs! So fun! Every person I encountered was patient and very nice. My mom's care team was very responsive to her needs. My mom will be there for a bit longer to recover so I'll have to update but from what I saw just over 2 days I am so thankful she is there and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I will note that the rooms are a bit small for 2 beds but the staff does everything they can to accommodate for visitors if there is more than 1 .... repeating that the rooms are clean! I even looked in corners.

The first thing I noticed was Deji the owner, he was very attentive and wanted to accommodate us in every way possible. The property is so beautiful and serene. My mom was there for almost 2-months and they had 24/7 staffing. We were also there 24/7 and was able to get the Hospice assistance of VITAS Care. Together they made my mom's quality of life comfortable and the feeling of being taken cared of. We were very happy and grateful for finding this place. Deji, his wife, all the staff and VITAS staff were very kind and attentive to my mom during those past 2 months. There are only a few patients there so you do get a lot of one-on-one time. My mom enjoyed looking out into the serene backyard and hearing the birds chirping. She also loved the spacious room "The Suite" that accommodated all our family when they came to visit. My husband has gotten excellent care overall. He is understood and has been kept safe, clean, and satisfied. I respect the staff, and they show respect for my husband and me. The atmosphere is family-friendly. They are open to suggestions - I have a 40+ professional nursing career:) I am grateful for the individualized approach and the quick response to any changes they notice, so I can take action and get the care needed. The small population at 5 Acers means nothing goes unnoticed for long. This unique environment is a true blessing for our family.
