They came and fixed our roof in Simi ok. My husband specifically asked Vince to not leave the gate open, as we have a tortoise who will escape. We have signs on both sides of the gate to keep the gate closed. But when they finished the job, they packed up and left...and left our gate wide open! We didn't discover it for two hours. Thank God our tortoise didn't get out, nor our two dogs who we let out into the yard. I believe the quality of his roofing work was satisfactory, we will find out during a home inspection. A portion of our house roof leaked at a better time right in the middle of the atmospheric river that affected all of LA...the leak was so bad it entered one of the bedrooms. We tried to rectify the repair ourselves but the problem persisted and I turned to Yelp. I reached out to Vincent (VA Roofing) and in no time responded to all my queries regarding our roof problem. Everything was done professionally from the inspection (which is very crucial), assessment, contract, and negotiation. He had a team that worked on our roof right the very next day as he saw how critical the situation was. **BEWARE OF THIS GUY** I discovered a leak in my garage after the first major rain storm of the season. I was looking for a roofer to fix the issue but all the major companies were booked up. I first booked another company but Vince from VA Roofing said he could be at my house earlier. Well, similar to another reviewer, he rescheduled from the morning to the afternoon so I'm retrospect I wish I went with the other guy. Not having much choice as the next big rainfall was in a few days, I agreed to have Vince fix the leaks even though his estimate was pretty outrageous ($1,350 to put mastic around the HVAC and chimney, clean leaves from the water run off, replace 7 tiles on the roof and epoxy glue a few more.) I asked him a few times to go into the attic to see where the leak was and he did not want to and was adamant he knew where the leak was from looking at the roof. Well, after he did his work, the roof leaked again in the same spot during the next rain fall. He came back and slathered more mastic and again was adamant he fixed the problem. Not only did he not, but the leak seemed to get worse and a huge stock pot under the leak filled with water as a result. I realized the only reason he came back the second time was because I hadn't paid him because I wanted to make sure the leak was fixed first. After the second visit, he made sure I paid him before he left, and when the leak continued the third time, he was nowhere to be found and did not respond to any of my contacts. I'm not going to blame him for my bad decision to go with him. It was my choice so I'll own up to it and already have several other consults coming in the next few weeks to redo the job right and fix any mistakes he made. Lesson learned... get someone reputable even though it may take more time and effort. Now I'm out $1,350 and wasted my time and am back to square one. Thanks a lot Vince. read more

Hi, Let meet start by saying this guy is crock and scammer. He did roof under my office back in 2020 and also did my roof on the second floor well yeh we did not get much rain until end of 2022 and 2023 the same two stops he FIXED where licking water on my office and my second floor same spots. Vince Alvarado came to my home in February did his walk around yes he agreed that it was same spots but would not HONOR HIS WARANTHY and asked me to pay aditional $3400 I was dumm he came on February 18 2023 and and spend Half a day doing fixes and his guys left on February 26 we had huge 4 in half inches of rain the same two spots specily my office where floording with rain. I was upset called Vincent Alarado would not pick up my phone said he was busy probably from the horible fixes him and his guys did. He and hix gus came in March spend an hour complaining and said Oh there is hole in stucco that why the rain is geting in ok I said Vincent that is not Issue the hole in stoco is in diffrent place. The guys left after an hour without saying goodbye Vincent did not even came in. Next week we had rain again on March 15, 2023 It poored in to my office like crazy leving even more bigger hole on the celling. After that I called and texted like crazzy he would not answer would not pick up after I tratend that I would do charge back he answered and said that the Issue are tiles which he cannot find that is why he cannot do good job in fixing my roof well it bull! I said Vincent that is fine I find tyles which I did last monday drove 75 milles to get 44 brand new tiles look at photo of new tiles. Finaly he said I would come this Wendsday which I said fine but on Sunday of this week I fdound out that its going to rain and ask him to come to me durring this monday Tuesday which he replied he was busy in Pasadina fixing someone else's roof and I again stoped answering my taxed. I finaly had in enoght and called my credit to charge back when I told him i did any normal person would say I will come Imdidatly fix your house NO NO i got trets on the text that he is going to come after my house and that he will not let that money go and this is considering I was nice and took $2900 back insted hole thing. Two days before Christmas we discovered two leaks in our roof. We called probably 8 different places and got the run around. That is, until we found Vince at VA roofing. My review is solely on the customer service with the owner. I called because I need a major repair on my roof and was asking for a quote. I was told he was on another job but would try and make it for that late afternoon. No one ever called to tell me no one was coming it was a complete no show. I texted the following morning letting him know we were going to not need his services and he didn't even have the courtesy to respond. My recommendation is to go with another company that is better established. I recommend Vincent and VA roofing for anyone needing roof repair. I had a couple roof leaks. Obviously with the recent storms all the roof repair companies are overwhelmed and not responsive at all. Vincent called me back later that evening and left a message as I didn't pick up. First thing in the morning he called me again and we spoke. He said he would swing by the next day right after lunch to take a look. He kept in contact with me all day texting his status and showed up on time and very professional. He went on the roof took pictures of all the areas that need work to show me and was able to quote me a price on the spot. Response to Vince: Give me a break. Seriously? So you ghost your clients and then come up with ridiculous reasons why you didn't want to waste your time on my entire roof re-roofing. You weren't coming to do any work, you were coming to see if the leaking was due to the repair you made a year earlier that you offered us a guarantee on for 2 years. You were on your way to another job so don't pretend I did something wrong by not having you do an entire re-roof that morning with no estimate given or anything? As if! I'm so very glad we did not go with you! You and I both know what was said and you are lying so that the 1 star review doesn't reflect as badly on you. What I said was we were wanting to get it fixed asap and to come in with a competitive bid as we were getting another quote from a second roofing company and wanted to go with you. In addition it has been a bad year financially for a ton of people, thanks for caring and thanks for making it so clear to your customers that if they are looking to get a couple of estimates to be sure your pricing is fair you won't even bother with sending them a quote. That's insane when you are talking about a 15K job. And you know what Vince....all you had to do is respond back to one of the tons of texts sent saying I'm too busy and don't want your job. You will see other reviews say you ghosted them as well....if you are going to have a business then have the respect to respond to your customers. That is all. Luckily for us we have now found a roofer that actually wants the job and responds back to us and is less than your high end quote so this whole thing ended up in our favor! We had Vince out for a roof repair a year ago and at the time he was responsive and though he was the highest quote of the 3 that we got, we went with him as he was nice and seemed to really know his stuff. Fast forward a year and we had more leaking and asked him back to see if the repair they did was the issue or if it was something new. He said we needed a full roof repair, all new paper to be put on our tile roof and gave rough pricing and promised an estimate to be sent in a couple of days. No quote was sent and after weeks of phone messages and text messages trying to get the estimate sent and to get on the calendar for repair, he just ghosted us for no reason. Vince stopped responding, never sent the quote and we ended up giving up. We told him in our communications we were ready to move forward and based on the rough pricing he gave were going to do the full paper replacement at 12k-15k, but no response. It's incredibly unprofessional to not respond back to voicemails or text messages when you have promised an estimate and we were good to go forward with the pricing he gave to get the roof fixed and all the paper replaced. Him ghosting us for no reason set us way back as far as getting our roof redone. We are still in the process of figuring out another roofer and are set months back in those roofers time lines based on Vince ignoring our messages over the course of a few weeks time. People get busy, sick, whatever, but when you are running a business this is just really really unprofessional to not have the curtesy to provide the quote promised or respond to multiple attempts to communicate.
