We had Arturo at V squared, formerly known as guaranteed upholstery, replace the foam on and under two beautiful leather sofas because he was recommended to us. This occurred in 2018. My wife noticed some problems immediately after he finished and we thought well let's see how it turns out over time. It appeared as though the foam had been cut in the middle somewhere on both sofas. Within a very short time oh, we found that we sunk. Sofas became uncomfortable very quickly and so we called Arturo asking him to help us again. Over the past 2 years he has avoided helping us and the foam simply is not well done. Since I it especially after set a lot of the time because I have a lot of pain, it's important that the Upholstery and the foam hold up he blamed it on the leather which is not the case the cause of leather is quite thick in aniline-dyed leather.. I have serious back issues and I must have high density foam with some softer layer at the top for comfort. We have literally begged Archer over and over and he does not respond responsibly as his promise was that it was guaranteed work. I truly wish that he has honored his obligations to us and has not done so to this day. He just makes excuse after excuse for not helping. Called to have an ottoman reupholstered. Met with the owner to pick out fabric. He didn't have what I was looking for but agreed to pick up the ottoman after I found fabric. He called to check in with me once. I had just found the fabric (over the weekend following our meeting) and he said he would pick up my oversized ottoman as soon as he finished his current job. I called him at the time he had estimated he would be done, and he told me he could no longer do my ottoman because he accepted two larger jobs that would pay him more money and he no longer had time for my "small job". Aside from marrying my husband, I think going to this place was the best decision I've ever made. I bought a beautiful contemporary couch 5 years ago, and while the leather and frame are still in good shape, the cushions just couldn't hold up to the terror of a toddler. They became lumpy, uncomfortable, and I could feel the springs through the foam. So, rather than buy a completely new couch and waste a perfectly good frame, I decided to look into options for replacing the cushions. The owner, Arturo, was knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell he is an honest, hardworking business owner, and he gave me a fair price. He got the dimensions for each cushion and put in a custom foam order-- I received them in about a week. I got high quality foam and replaced the entire sectional for about $300. It was well worth it-- 4 months later, it still feels brand new! My butt has never been happier (literally). Just picked up our chair from Arturo and we could not be happier. We bought a beautiful mid century modern wood recliner with a leather chair pad, but the leather was at least 60 years old and was cracking in places. I knew that getting it reupholstered would be expensive, but my husband loved the style of the chair so much that we decided it was worth the cost. I called Arturo on a Monday afternoon. He let me text him some pictures of the chair instead of bringing it in and he text me back the same night with a quote. He gave us a very reasonable quote (I also received quotes from the other top reviewed places on yelp and his was the best by a few hundred dollars). When I went to drop of the cushions and armrests he offered to use a beautiful high quality leather cowhide that he had in stock to save money on the leather. It turned out gorgeous. I needed to have a complicated chair pillow redone within a few days for a very special party at my home. I called and spoke with Arutolo, who happened, to be the owner. I would give this place negative stars if I could. I took a heirloom settee in to get reupholstered, and went with Arturo bc he was prompt and gave me a competitive quote. That's where the professionalism ended. In the beginning he told me the job would take about a week. We agreed that I would purchase fabric from him, and I dropped the piece of furniture off at his store when he said he would be there so he can run me through the process & show me fabric options. TRIP #1: I called him the day of the appointment, and he told me he would be at the office. He was not. (This is a recurring theme, btw). I tell a female coworker there what I'd like to do with the settee, and tell her I'll be back to pick out the fabric some other time when Arturo is there. TRIP #2: I call & go back a few days later to pick out the fabric (ivory colored canvas), and Arturo tells me he is at the shop. When I arrive, he hurriedly looks around for a sample but can't find any. He points me to beige and silky material - much different from what I've asked for - then tells me he can't find anything right now and that I should look for my own material and come back. TRIP #3: I bring my own material, but Arturo is not at the store again, despite him telling me he would be there. I tell the female coworker how I would like the fabric to run (with the stitching running horizontally), and leave. Before I leave, an older couple was at the shop getting a quote and they ask me where I got my material, so I tell them Jo-Anns. I call Arturo again the next day (from the day I dropped off the settee he has never called me first to communicate what is happening), and he tells me he can get it done in 2-3 days. I tell him I'll pick it up in 4 days, just in case. He then angrily asks me what I told the old couple in the shop, bc now they don't want his business. I said that the only exchange I had with them was where my fabric was from - he says I must have told them something for them not to return. WHAT? I am shocked that he is blaming me for his lack of business. At this point, wondering if I could ever get my settee back, I try to keep my cool and call back in 4 days (not 2-3 as he said he would need), on a Friday. THE SETTEE IS NOT READY. He says to give him the weekend - and it will be ready on Monday. I told him I'll give him a few extra days & pick it up on Wednesday, because I didn't want to make a trip down again when it isn't ready. He agrees, and confidently says he will have it ready before then. TRIP #4: I call him the morning of Wednesday, pick-up day. He greets me by my name and tells me to come on over. I head over (it's about a 35 minute drive from my house) - and am SHOCKED to find that the chair HASN'T BEEN TOUCHED. He has the nerve to tell me he's been busy, and tried to blame it on me (saying he wasn't sure which way I wanted the fabric to run) -- so I ask why (a) he didn't call to ask, and (b) why he told me over the phone to come by when I called. This is where he loses it, and where the lies kept coming. He starts YELLING at me and says that he didn't know he was speaking to me over the phone. So I ask him why he didn't clarify what I was coming to pick up if he didn't know who he was talking to. He starts yelling and storming off saying his mom is sick and that he's got a lot of work to do, and if I want him to get the work done then I have to leave so he can get the job done. He continues to communicate with me by yelling at the female worker in Spanish, who then translates. The female coworker is standing there, not sure what to do, but not surprised by his demeanor. She later tells me he has made her cry plenty of times, and that he can be very stubborn, mean and unprofessional. Stressed about the whole process and 9 months pregnant, I'm wondering if I will ever see my grandmother's furniture restored. The female coworker tries to reason with him, and he starts yelling at her, too. She just sighs and says she can't do anything. He says that I need to come back some other time, without specifying when, and says I need to pay him now. I refuse to pay him for work he hasn't done (I had already put down a deposit)... and the female worker says he will give me a $20 discount. A $20 discount?! I demand that he deliver the settee to my home after he is done with it THAT DAY. A week long turnaround time has now become a month, and he says he will deliver it at 9pm. Why 9pm? He yells he needs to go to Tijuana first because his mom is not feeling well. I tell him ok. While walking out to my car, the female worker comes up to me and says Arturo can deliver the piece at 2:30 pm, earlier than the 9pm delivery time he stated. So his mom is not sick? She said he will work on it as fast as he can and deliver it for free. Arturo yelled that if he does deliver it for free, he's not going to help me carry it into my home, and that he will LEAVE IT ON THE STREET. It is now 3:55 pm. He's still not here. read more

I can't say enough good things about Mr. Vallejo and his team - they were all very courteous, professional, efficient and accommodating. In our case we had a fabric that was made up into a slip cover for a sofa that I adored and wanted to see if we could recycle it for the re-upholstery job -- Mr. Vallejo and Eric looked it over and said it could be done!! The chairs are perfect and there was even some fabric left over! The job was done as promised time-wise and the labor was very fairly priced. I totally recommend V Squared! He just delivered my couch that he reupholstered and he went above and beyond. the original has some extra stitching around the seams, but because i was on a tight timeline for a party, he didn't think he could get the extra stitching done. also, we a had a bit of a communication issue re: when I needed it (mostly my fault:)) and he got it finished four days ahead of when he thought it was supposed to be delivered... and delivered it himself.... I was very happy with the work Arturo did on my antique sofa and various other items. I purchased Sunbrella fabric and used that for my indoor furniture. This may have made the job a little more tricky, but the results were beautiful. The workmanship showed attention to detail and the job was through.
