Since we were staying next door and our friends were staying here, we hung out here as it had the resort Feel and more to offer. Therefore, my friend and I went to the spa. I had a "custom" facial and gel manicure. Initially, reception checked my friend in and forgot me. So she didn't give me the sandals or locker. No biggie. Then the manicurist came and got me. No offer of a glass of water or anything by either one, at this point. I had her manicure and it was fine/ the gel color selection was not good. My friend also had the same mani and agreed. They need to broaden the color selection. They didn't really have any nice nude or neutral colors. The colors were either too light or too bold. Then She just sent me on my way with no instruction. I had to go back to reception, who then gave me sandals and apologized for previously missing that. She brought me back to put on a robe and wait in the relaxing area for the facial. They have room temp water and some banana chips and craisins to snack on and some magazines. **note this area is co-ed. I go in for her facial and it was good, I've definitely had better for a lesser price. One frustrating thing is she kept trying to upsell me to another facial that was $100 more! If I'm going to do the works and get product, it's going to be at my normal, local spot vs on vacation. I may have overlooked it but I didn't realize until I was in the waiting area and someone else was checking out and heard reception state that the gratuity was already included. I think it was 18-20%. So note on that, if you're thinking of giving a cash tip to the person providing your service. I would not go back. I've experienced more attentive staff and a better experience elsewhere and for less money. read more

It's taking me almost 3-weeks to conjure up enough courage to write a public review on somewhat of a private experience. This situation was bad and now the bad feeling around it all keeps compounding as the spa manager hasn't returned my call for 5 days now. I scheduled a scrub & massage and was pulled into an 8:00 PM appointment. I didn't specify male/female therapist, so that is a lesson for me (although I don't normally care). When I arrived, I was walked to the seating area and was given a paper to fill out. One of the elements noted that the therapist may not perform any chiropractic type adjustments at any time (which in reading I thought--- that's odd why would a masseuse to that?). I completed the paperwork and waited a while -- then a tall, older gentleman approached me and said he was my therapist. The initial glance didn't feel nice but I pushed it out of my mind and decided that it was my imagination and to allow myself to have a good therapy session. I cannot say that I had a good experience. The gentleman had a very abrupt (non-fluid) touch; the pressure was good, but the fluidity was not there -- making the experience not very relaxing. The atmosphere felt 'wrong' ... i can't explain how, but my instinct was to close my eyes tight and not peak! I was getting a scrub and at one point I had to be turned over, I was afraid I was going to get exposed, but instead I felt like I was peaked at. I peeked with one of my eyes, and his face was way too close to the edge of the sheet and not looking away (this was very quick though, so I questioned myself and again pushed thoughts out of my head). When on my back I was covered by a very thin sheet (no heavier cover over it for vanity/warmth) he randomly bumped (or something) into me and totally exposed my bosom -- it felt very "non-nacidental" --- as a reflex I quickly draped myself and kept my eyes tightly shut for the rest of the scrub. The showering space was in the same room as the massage table. After the scrub I was told to sit up and he toga-wrapped me to have me step into the shower --- it was a little weird as he lingered for a moment when I walked into the shower space. I threw the towel overhead very quickly -- honestly I was afraid a hand would reach from the side to grab the sheet. I quickly showered off and tucked myself tightly for the massage which i begged to be over with. In the middle of the massage he proceeded to adjust my right wrist but by that time I was so traumatized that the disclaimer I read flew out of my head and I just wanted to have all of this over with. He then adjusted my left wrist -- both time there was shooting electric type pain especially in the right wrist. This was absolutely awful. It's 3 weeks later and my right wrist has a persistent aching pain with occasional flaring pain! I work behind a computer and typing/controlling a mouse has been very painful and I can't hold a mouse for long - having to prop my hand and self-massage my wrist every 15-30 minutes. I am a big girl, but this felt unprofessional, dirty and intentional and hasn't settled in my heart at all! read more

$480 later my husband and I felt disappointed. The atmosphere was very spa like. The leather chairs, bamboo decor and cucumber water was typical of high a end spa. The soft sheets and essential oil scented rooms are relaxing. Our two massage therapists were also traditionally soft spoken and soft handed. So soft handed our massages felt like the tender touches of a mother to her infant. Every time her fingers would pass over my trouble spot I would eagerly await the pressure that would rid me of the tenseness and pain in that area for the next few weeks, or at least days. Sure I was relaxed. I nearly dozed off a few times. It was a very traditional massage meaning you can anticipate the next move and touch. It was okay but I wouldn't splurge on that type of service again. I would rather pay a fraction of the cost with less spa like amenities and get a good, deep tissue massage that leaves me drooling like the reflexology foot and full body massages you can find throughout the city. read more

I had an incredible aroma therapy massage by CEE! It's not easy to get me to relax honestly, I'm would pretty tightly... She helped me completely release all of my tension and with the therapy she helped me choose I was so happy with my experience! Full body for 80 minutes is the only way to go! My facial wasn't meant to be relaxing, but it totally was. Tara was wonderful and explained exactly what she was doing and walked me through everything. My best friend the next day told me I looked refreshed and she had no idea I had even done a facial! Overall, not a bad spa. The therapists and esthatists were amazing. Just really good. The lack of a 5th star is for a fee little items, mainly the front desk staff. They were friendly enough. But they lack the finishing touch. When they gave me my locker, the robe inside was a S/M. I'm 5'8" and a size 14. Like a L/XL. Most spas offer to bring me a larger robe. This girl did not. After getting dressed agIn and headed up front to ask for a larger robe, she brought me a 4X! Seriously, 4X. Also, the quiet area was a bit lacking. From NJ and was here on business and needed a manicure. I decided to come here because it was convenient and because of the reviews. I had a 12pm appointment in which the manicurist was running 15 mins late. I was in sort of a hurry but they graciously told me to get some hot tea and refreshments while I was waiting. The tea was luke warm and after notifying the girl, she promptly changed it. It was still warm when she brought out more, but later the brought me out a hot cup while getting my nails done. I was set on getting a nice coral pastel color for the summer to compliment my tan but the colors were so limited! They use vegan nail polish (which is good if that's your thing), but they looked old. I am used to Essie and opi with many color choices. The lady doing my nails was nice and friendly, but I must say, it was one of the worst manicures I ever received in my life. It hurt so much to get my nails done and she left a few hangnails which are bothering the crap out of me and hurt. My manicures usually last a week, but this one started chipping after 3 days :(. She used this gold lotion on my hands, which smelled like grapefruit but made my hands look funny under the light. This manicure was also the most I ever spent for a manicure $29.50! I would never go back for a manicure, but maybe the massages are better? read more

I've been searching for a great resort-ish spa experience in Dallas (i.e. the type of place you go to for both services and amenities like sauna, steam room, pool, jacuzzi) and they are surprisingly in short supply in this city that otherwise loves luxury! Unfortunately, V-Spa missed the mark in many ways. Earlier reviews discussing lack of customer service were spot on. Woman at front desk was curt when I called as well as when I met her in person. Facility feels dated. Robes feel not throroughly washed and smell of stale massage oil. Relaxation room feels like a dim doctor's office waiting room, complete with terrible magazine selection. It hardly screams luxury or relaxation. Staff room is adjacent, with the result that personnel are constantly walking through this area, and you are privy to all sorts of employee conversations and gossip. Not relaxing! I had one of the best massages of my life here. Ask for Lola-she is like an angel that transports you to heaven. I got the 80 minute aromatherapy massage and the value was very good-under $200 for an 80 minute massage. Lola has an amazing touch and she adds tons of extra nummies like scented heating pads all over you so just feel so pampered and amazing. I definitely recommend her. The massage is the most important thing, so I give it five stars. Everything else is pretty eh though. Just remove from your mind the idea that this is a spa, and picture something more between a doctor's office and an athletic club, and you will not be disappointed. Also, if like me, you read some other reviews that talked about pre-treatments before the massage like a foot bath and head massage, etc, this did not occur. It was just the usual paperwork, along with generic "house tea", and magazines that were in laminated covers (extra ghetto, who steals US Weekly? And who is so cheap they can't replace a stolen US Weekly?) So just ignore everything else and focus on the service, and you will love it! read more

This was one of my favorite visits to a day spa. The service was phenominal - from the time you checked in, to the dressing room, to the quiet room where you soak your feet in warm lemon fragrant water with bath salts and oils and top it off with a heated neck pillow, it was fabulous. The interior of the spa is very Zen and luxurious. You definitely feel like you're in the right place for relaxation and pampering. I wanted to spend the entire day there, but I had only scheduled an hour massage. The massage was just as fabulous as the moments leading up to it. I will admit, when my masseuse came to get me, I was a little hesitant because he was quite mature in age. I lowered my expectations before the services even started. But, he proved my age discrimination WRONG, he was outstanding. His technique was so on point, he had every muscle in my body feeling like putty by the end of the hour, from the wiggling of my toes to the top of my head it was an overall fantastic experience. And, this is a minor thing, but major for me, when they turn me over on my back I expect for my eyes to be covered and I was not disappointed. I know that's a little anal, but I think it's a small detail that makes a big difference. The only bad thing I can say about the facilities is the parking. I parked in the wrong parking lot so I was on a walking wild goose chase. So be sure to get a good understanding where to park prior to your appointment. Woooooosaaaaaahhhhh! read more

I was really excited for this place given the reviews... I received the most painful pedicure I have ever had! Twitching and telling the lady didn't do much good on easing the pain. I didn't want to make a scene since I was there for a relaxing weekend with a girlfriend. Her pedicure was great she said. The atmosphere was nice. We got the watermelon pedicures... nice touch with preparing watermelon drinks. But next time I'll skip and pay the local nail place down the road. The lady I had for my vino massage was lacking. Added pressure in wrong areas and didn't have enough in the right areas. I am a massage therapist so I know. I shouldn't get more out of a massage CE course from students than an actual licensed therapist! Maybe she was newly out, but then again newbies should not be at a hotel spa. Conveniently located in the same building as the Verandah Spa in the Hilton Anatole, this is a first class facility and on par with other places I've tried with bigger names like Bliss NYC and even the Bliss Dallas in the W Hotel. The massage tables are heated - a pleasant surprise when I laid down for my massage. My facial was the ultimate pampering and luxury experience... my skin was velvety soft and glowing afterwards. I love V Spa because of all the additional luxury amenities that you get with your treatment. First, you get a free elixir, footbath and heated shoulder and neck pillow that smells divine before the treatment even starts. During my massage, the bed was heated and I received a lavender-scented eye pillow that was so calming. Not to mention, their sheets are divine - so incredibly soft. I asked if they sold the sheets at the spa (they don't) but they do have a lot of cool retail products that would make great gifts (robes, books, candles, spa chocolates). Anyway . . back to my massage . . . .it was fantastic. I had requested a sports massage b/c my shoulder was killing me from weight training, and it hasn't hurt since my massage. Therapeutic!! I received a facial at V Spa and was treated like a queen. Prior to my treatment, I was given a super-soft robe to get nice and comfy and then was taken to the zen-like "relaxation room" where I chose the Ginger Ale tonic. (Everyone gets to sip a healing elixir prior to their treatment.) My aesthetician, Rula, was super friendly. She explained each step of my facial. One of the best parts of the facial? While I was "masking" Rula took the time to massage my arms, hands and feet. It's amazing how relaxing facials can be! I received the "Customized Classic Facial" where Rula examined my skin and talked to me about my skin care regimen. Then she customized the facial and products for me. I left with glowing skin! I joined the Verandah and was really blown away when I had the tour of the V Spa.There was a pedicure special for members so I decided to try it out, and get a manicure too. The morning of my appointment, I had the worst headache and called to try to change it. The girl was so sweet and was able to move it up to later in the day. She gave me ZERO attitude, which was so refreshing. Once I arrived, I was introduced to my nail technician and the relaxation began... they gave me a menu of elixers, I had the one with Ginger Ale since I wasn't feeling great. They I got the mask for my hands that went up my forearm, followed by the parrifin, and then the manicure began. They used all organic products and it was simply divine. After the mani, I was taken to the pedicure room and the comfy seats were enough to fall asleep in. Everyone has a set of headsets you can listen to "spa" music on or listen to the flat screen television with. I enjoyed the silence and just relaxed while she did the similar process to my feet as the hands. The experience, was lovely... I can't wait to try the body treatments! read more

Some spas are worth it during Spa Week, but V Spa is not one of them. I chose the champagne facial. The facial was literally a couple of face masks, a bad shoulder massage and pulling of my arms...I guess it was suppose to be an arm massage. There were no extractions, no questions asked regarding my facial regime or comments of how I could improve. I was never informed of any products used on my face. Aside from that, they need to hire more personnel. The spa is on the furthest end of the hotel, nobody told us there was a Jacuzzi in the women's locker room downstairs, nobody told us were the showers were located or the towels or the gym. We had to walk to the front desk several times to ask for each thing. The worse is that nobody told us that for the lockers downstairs we needed a room card to be able to lock it. And there was nobody around to ask, so again I am carrying around all my stuff to go ask at the desk. After we were done getting ready, another patron was confused and asked us about the lockers. We explained to her what we learned the hard way and she stated "This spa never has anyone around to ask for anything." My thoughts exactly! I wont be back. read more

Not worth it. $72 for a mediocre pedicure. Person was not friendly-seemed very tired, barely gave a massage, warm towels were barely warm and I sat there with the cold-ish towels on my legs for 5 minutes while she cleaned things up in another room, foot soak luke warm, nails look okay but not great. In Washington I get my nails done for much less and the service is way better and they give you a leg massage and have toasty towels. read more

Made an appointment for my daughter for a $50 service. When I went to pay the bill, it was almost $80! When I questioned it, I was told paraffin was extra. I didn't ask for paraffin! I pointed that out, and it was quickly removed from the bill. It left a sour taste in my mouth, however. Upon questioning my daughter, the paraffin was the major part of the service! Too much money for not enough attention is what I think. I've had much better service at much better prices! read more
