All I had were the CALABRIAN CHICKEN WINGS but man were they good! I got the wings that were cooked in their wood oven with chili peppers and it had a great kick to it but wasn't over the top. I will definitely be eating here again my next trip to Gainesville. Second trip just as successful, wings are still incredible. Had the veloce salad which was a spectacular. Super fresh, heirloom maters, red onion, goat cheese, shrooms, roasted reds and a spot of blue cheese dressing. I also sampled three top shelf bourbon/whiskeys. Their selection is impressive. My family and I decided to dine in at V Pizza since we wanted to try something new in downtown Gainesville. This restaurant is very nice on the inside with booths and tables, along with a bar that has many televisions so you can watch sports while eating. We ended up ordering three pizzas (there was 5 of us) and we did not realize how large the pies would be!! We ordered the Pizza Vegeteriana, Pizza Carnivora and Pizza Quattro Formaggi. We also ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad which was delicious and fresh. I really liked the Carnivora and Vegeteriana pizzas, but was not a fan of the Quattro Formaggi (four cheese). I think it had a little too much ricotta cheese for my liking. The only reason I would think twice about revisiting this restaurant is because it is a little pricey for pizza at dinnertime. We went for trivia with Trivia Nation - those guys are a lot of fun! Our waitress was also fantastic and patient with us. We had three cocktails, wings and a pizza. The wings were good, we got half spicy half regular. The regular I preferred and had sweet, vinegary onions on them. We ordered the special mushroom pizza. I'm a bit of a pizza snob, I just like it my way... v pizza isn't my kind of pizza. For my tastebuds, the sauce didn't have enough flavor. The cheese was good but the mushrooms weren't cooked enough. They get more flavorful the more they're cooked and the ones on our pizza were 99 second away from being raw. The crust was nice and crispy but the body of the pizza was so limp and moist. We stopped here for a late dinner while revisiting my husband's UF years, and overall it was a pretty good place! We got the carnivore and it was absolutely delicious! The meats were good, quality Italian meats, and the crust was good on the edge. However, the middle of the pizza was super soggy. I had to use a fork to eat the middle part before picking it up. I think it had too much sauce in the middle or something, but it was still tasty. We also had caprese salad which was also very well done with large pieces of mozzarella and tomatos. The service was slow, but I think there were only 2, maybe 3 servers to wait and clean tables on a Saturday night. Ours was very friendly. The waiter sat us down without menus, brought out the pizza without plates or silverware, was running around back and forth apologizing for how slammed they were. Our check was not brought out for a long time so we just left cash at the table * However, I do believe the server was doing everything in his power given the large amount of tables he was given. We were not upset with him and were aware he had more than he could handle. The problem is with the restaurant management not being prepared for a busy Saturday night. I had heard and read reviews about the service here lacking, maybe it's because they're new but I think it's worthy to enforce management should train waiters, hosts, and hire enough people. The pizza was alright, the ingredients tasted very fresh, and I'm assuming the Naples-style pizza crust was different than what we're used to. This has to be one of the best Pizza places I have been to in a long time. I don't eat a ton of Pizza because most doesn't compare to what I'm used to growing up in Europe! But this place surpasses most I have tried in Florida. The gluten-free dough is deep dish and I think to get it to raise GF has yeast. Dough most likely uses potatoes and rice flour. Whatever so excellent. The cheese does brown on edge to a crisp but bottom was still white to tan. I had the vegi mix and hubby had meat mix. Both of us are happy. Meat mix was spicy but not burn spicy. After hearing rave reviews from friends in Jacksonville, I was really excited to try V Pizza. Unfortunately it hasn't quite lived up to the hype. Let's start with the positives. The pizza is pretty good, employees are friendly, and the restaurant is clean. They also offer vegan and gluten free options, which is great. Onto the service. While the employees are friendly, my family has encountered a service issue on each of our three visits: 1. My husband's pizza was made incorrectly and had to be sent back (minor issue). 2. The employee cashing us out swiped our credit card so many times that the bank shut the card off for possible fraudulent activity! While the manager did rectify the situation by comping the meal, it was still a total aggravation. 3. Our last visit was around 5pm on a weeknight. There was only one other table seated and one person sitting at the bar. We ordered three pizzas and it took almost 35 minutes for our food to arrive. Shocking since they're only baked for 90 seconds. There were approximately 15 employees working, so I have no idea what the hold up was. The pizza is good and they use quality imported ingredients. It can get a little pricy if you choose vegan cheese or gluten free crust though. There's no kid's menu, but you can order a lunch sized pizza even at dinner time for your child ($9.95 or $10.95). I might come here occasionally, but I'll stick to other local pizza joints to get my regular fix. read more

I'm not a fan of the pizza here, but the service was very good. We were in Gainesville for graduation and the downtown was completely chaotic at dinner time. The site staff at V were really good at getting us seated quickly and our food was out to the table before we even realized it. I ordered the margarita as I was told it was the closest thing they had to "traditional" pizza. It was ok... not really terrible, but not what I would call good pizza. It seemed well cooked, but it's pretty small and the slices are just little triangles.. the sauce was rather basic and the dough was not very flavorful. The highlight of the pizza was the cheese. The mozzarella tasted fresh and was plentiful which was actually a nice surprise. Our party also had a gluten free pie which was even smaller, but they felt it tasted fine. I'm not always terribly fond of Neopolitan pizza, as the crust can be too burnt for my taste, but V makes a delicious pie thanks to great mozzarella and a delicious base crust. We went with a large group (8 people) and they quickly accommodated us, and we had excellent service! The waitresses are all 100% knowledgable in all of the drinks and food, and so they provided us with great recommendations based on our tastes. You must order the Mac and Cheese appetizer!! It is bubbling hot, soaked in flavor, and comes with crushed bacon on top. It was so addicting that we ordered about 5 more of these as the hours went on and the drinks kept coming. Delicious stuff. Followed their Facebook page because the social media marketer has a good sense of humor but hadn't gone out of my way to visit yet. Went for the first time last week for lunch when my parents came to town. The parking situation could be better and the prices may seem a little steep if you're used to chain pizza, but man was the food better than I could have expected. The pizza had a light dough with great toppings. It had a nice char but wasn't burnt, and I like that their toppings are imported. Personally I don't mind paying a dollar or so extra for authentic food. I tried their weekly special and it was nicely spicy without being overbearing. We also tried their chicken wings and mac and cheese and both work well as appetizers for 2-3 people. I also like that they have a Coke Freestyle machine. The fast casual setup works well - order at the counter and they bring it to you. It helps the restaurant feel nonpretentious which can sometimes be hard to do with a more upscale or authentic menu. It wasn't very busy for Thursday lunch, but I would expect that for summertime. Their lunch special is very affordable and one pizza may be enough for two people. The cashier/server was very friendly and had good conversation. It's not a question of if I would come back, but when. I have seen on their FB ads that they have free valet at night and their late hours work with my work schedule, so I can see this becoming a once or twice a month date or or hangout. I've eaten at V's pizza many times, mostly because they have trivia on Thursdays at 7:00pm. That being said, the pizza is very good. I'd give V's a 4.5/5 if I could. Food: Some of my favorite pizzas are the piccante, alla di pollo,and the pollo calabrese. They are thin crust, toasted on the bottom, and covered in toppings. Each pizza serves about 1.5 people. Their nepoletana salad is also good. They have a wide range of drinks, which are good too, but a dollar or two too expensive. Food: 4.5/5 Service: Service varies. Almost all the staff is very friendly and helpful. Sometimes the service is quick and sometimes it is not. On Thursdays, ask for the check before trivia ends if you are in a hurry. Service: 4/5 Price: If you get a pizza for every 1.5 people, you can expect to pay ~$12 before drinks. That being said, drinks are $10, so one drink can nearly double your bill. Price: 4/5 I really like V's and wanted to give them a 5/5 but I ultimately decided to give them a 4 because their food is really good, but not incredible. I would've had a better experience at Chuck-E-Cheese honestly. Ordered immediately once the server came to the table and then never saw her again for the next hour. No food, no drink refills, nothing. I saw 3 other tables get their food before we got ours. I waved at her to get our check because we were just ready to leave at this point and she walks right past me because our food was being delivered to the wrong table. Brings it over to us finally. Now you'd think getting the bill would be quicker than getting the food but boy was I fooled. She came by to clear our table TWICE and then the third time I had to ask for the bill. Even then it still took another 10 minutes for our check to be closed. Food was great but the service was equivalent to a snail and turtle race and there was no winner here. 2 hours later and our bill was settled and we were more than ready to leave. read more

So I finally got to go to V Pizza tonight thanks to my good friend and Yelper Andrea H who invited me out to dinner! I was kind of skeptical, but I was blown away from the food, customer service and everything else! Let's start with the food! The food tasted amazing! The toppings were fresh and made to order on their wood fired ovens. It was awesome smelling and seeing the pizza come out of the oven. Our waitress told us they burn the first Stromboli and had to make a second one! Shows they care about their customers! Everything from the cheese, sauce and toppings were great! Here is the reason for 4 stars! They were out of a lot of items on the menu. One of the reasons I came in was for chicken wings and they were out, then I heard about the Mac and cheese and it was out, also several other pizza toppings were out as well. It's okay not something to big, but wish I could have tried more. The customer service was amazing! The staff was super friendly and the waitress was very attentive and did a wonderful job! She made sure we had everything we needed! The location is great! You may want to do the valet if it's being offered or parking could be a little hard but I had no issues!
