We researched several brands online and decided to give one a try. After checking that manufacturers website for stores in West Michigan we ended up at Chow Hound. When you walk into this location there are registers off to the left, and dog food all along the wall to the right. The back of the store has a dog washing station and public restroom. While trying to find the brand that we were searching for an employee came up and asked if we needed assistance finding anything. I asked him if they carried Evo as that was one of the brands we had checked out. He said they did and took me right back to where they were located. Directly behind that was a rep from Nature's Variety and another Chow Hound employee chatting. We checked out the different options and were trying to decide what we wanted to do as we were not 100% sold on switching from Fromm. The lady from NV told us that if we needed any assistance that they were there to help. She ended up giving us a sample of their products and began to tell us how there's were different and similar to Evo. I told her that we thought our pug had a food allergy and she went further into what the allergy could in fact be. I know she doesn't work for Chow Hound but she was amazing!!! Once we selected the brand and food we wanted to try out we proceeded to the check out lane. At the time only one lane was open but another employee quickly came up and opened another. The checkout process was very quick and easy. They do offer a rewards program but I did not inquire as this is a local business and I am from the Indianapolis area. BUT next time I am up here (and if I lived here) this would be the place I'd get all my pets supplies.

I went right at the beginning of the day on Sunday and was able to be seen right away. The worker was incredible gracious with my dog who doesn't enjoy nail trims and has some separation anxiety. She let me go back and hold her to help make the process smoother. Despite my dog being fidgety, she was super kind throughout. The store was clean and they have fun "cookie" treats you can purchase by the register (which my pup loved eating later). Will be returning!

This location is new, clean, and always well-stocked. The employees are all super friendly and always ask if we need help finding anything and are happy to give advice based on their own experience, as most of them have pets of their own. They have items for dogs and cats, of course, but also things for small furry pets and even have some small furry pets for sale! They also have cats that are ready for adoption inside the store which are fun to check out whenever we visit. Chow Hound has a self-serve dog wash which seems like it would be really convenient if you didn't have the room or facilities available for that at your house. The variety of products they stock is kind of mind-boggling and I see something fun each time I visit. We love their selection of canned cat food; they have really high quality stuff that you can't get at a regular grocery store. There are plenty of toys, treats, and accessories for all pets too! The store is laid out nicely with low shelves so you can see where everything is pretty easily, unlike some other pet store chains I've been to. The store is super clean and really bright and I always feel happy when I'm there! They have a rewards program that allows you to earn points for every purchase and each time you earn enough points, you get a $10 off coupon. We haven't earned enough points yet, but it's a nice incentive. As others have mentioned, prices at Chow Hound might be a little more than Amazon or other national chain retailers but we like to support this local store in our area. I definitely recommend checking them out for pet supplies!

The volunteer asked me to contact my vet's office and give the staff permission to give them information about our care of our dogs and our cat who had recently passed. The rescue is entirely foster-based so they don't have a physical location. I had been following a few local rescues on social media as we were interested in getting a second cat. Every day I'd show Nate another set of photos of cute kitties asking if he wanted to meet them! I eventually filled out their adoption application with the idea that we'd be ready if we found a cat we wanted to meet. Once I saw "Kiwi" a little tortie cat I knew I wanted to meet her, so once our application was approved and our vet references checked, we were connected with the foster who set up a time for us to come visit. She gave us all the info about Kiwi who we were approved to adopt, so we went and picked her up a few days later and now we can't imagine our home without her. Thanks, Pet Tales Rescue!
