Will never go here again. Not only did I experience poor customer service, but so did two of my friends. There are so many good places to choose from; you should make a better choice. I had an awesome experience here with my glasses. I've been wearing glasses/contacts for over 30 years and have purchased them from Pearle, LensCrafters, smaller mom and pop shops and V Eye P over the years. As I am getting older, my eyewear needs are becoming more significant, whereas ten years ago, I could be more flexible and nonchalant. I met Danny and he was so helpful answering all my questions even though they didn't end up having a frame that I liked and that fit well on my face with my more specific needs. He didn't try to sell me something that did not fit my current needs. He recommended some other shops to visit. So I ended up purchasing frames and lenses (spent more than I wanted) at a different non-major chain optical place. But when I received my new glasses, the lenses did not look right especially compared to my previous lenses from V Eye P even though they were the exact same type and manufacturer. I called Danny and he said I could bring them in. He was able to help me multiple times like explaining why the new lenses looked different even though my prescription was almost the same and with Brian's aid, removed some of the white reflected rings that the last shop did not know what to do with. Danny was extremely knowledgeable and provided magnanimous customer service even though I purchased the latest pair somewhere else! read more

Dr Gertz was extremely professional. I have never had such an extensive and comprehensive exam. He was very descriptive and explained my exam results perfectly for me to understand. They faciiity is very clean, all wear masks at all times, even pens are sanitized. The Dr. was right on time. Also the cost was covered by my insurance, though, even if not the cost was only minimal. This is the best place for prescription glasses! I've been coming here for 2 or 3 years now since my first pregnancy to my second pregnancy. I went with V Eye P for the first time in 2019. Drs. Gertz and Iskander were very professional and detailed, and I felt cared for. The folks manning the front were alright to work with. And most importantly, the contact lenses I finally got were high-quality and everything I hoped for. What I did not like was the billing and insurance process. I was made to take a contact lens exam without being told my insurance would not fully cover it. Then over the next few months they told me conflicting things about how much of various combinations of the exam, a pair of glasses, and one or two sets of contacts my insurance would cover. I was pretty badly confused and ended up learning everything about the insurance myself, explaining it to them, and then finally going out of my way to have a 3-way phone call with myself, them and the insurer to have the insurer tell them exactly what I had been saying all along. I ordered two sets of contacts and picked up the first one without issue, but then when I finally came in to pick up the other set, they told me the insurance wouldn't cover it :( I had to do the 3-party call again on the spot, which involved being on hold with the insurer for a very long time, and then the insurer said the same thing they said before, and the V Eye P folks seemed to finally understand. I felt like I was the only one who cared about my wallet and I don't trust V Eye P to get it right. The only reason I'm giving 3-stars instead of 2-stars is because I assume positive intent and I am happy with the end results, but it was frustrating. read more

I always base my reviews on the quality of service rendered, since that's all we've been for the past five decades, and thus it is essential to keep track of these Service Satisfaction Trends (SST). I don't care if it's a psychiatric hospital or an optical place - they will be evaluated by me, based on their delivery of services. So I'm just gonna give a taste of this experience, as I don't have the time to dwell on them much longer. THE FRAMES They were offended because the frames I ordered felt like razors digging into the skin behind my ear. They were beautiful frames, hand-crafted in Denmark, and even had my name soldered on the arm of the frame, which was one of the issues they had with customer satisfaction. "I can't sell these now. They have your name on the frame." "Well, that is not essential - to have my name on the frame - nor did I know they put my name on the frame, nor do I care to have my name on the frame, so why are you telling me this?" THE LOST ART OF ADJUSTMENT On an earlier visit to the shop to resolve the problem I had with the frames, I was told it was a matter of the "Lost Art of Frame Adjustment." A lost art, however, implies an ancient art of a prior or earlier civilization. Frames haven't met the time requirement to be considered a "Lost Art." But, go figure. THE RAMBLING EMAILS One day the owner sent me a series of rambling emails about the challenges of being a small business owner. I didn't even bother to open the last email. Maybe I should have, since the following message I received from them, from some woman, as I had decided to simply have new lenses cut to my current frames by Cutler and Gross of London, and have those lenses placed in my frames, who told me they were no longer interested in servicing me, and they would mail the new lenses to me, without clearly stating the procedure (that I would have to be there to sign for them [I was 300 miles away] since the lenses were costly - $600 - which were incidentally mailed in a small bubble envelope, with the lenses stuffed in a small pouch - no reinforcement, surely for such a valuable item, - and at some point told me (although I have no recollection of it) that they would mail me a check, refunding the frames that didn't work. I wrote them about a week later, saying the credit hadn't appeared in my card yet. When she reminded of "the check," I wrote this woman back and said ... "I paid with them with a credit card, so why are you sending me a check, since that's not how I paid for them." And her response was: "Because that's what you asked for." Hm. Okay. THE KISS OF ARMAGEDDON Who can argue that we have not reached the end? Just look at the news. There is no hope of redemption at this stage, is there? So when did this twist of Armageddon begin? September of 2015. Perhaps it is better NOT to see? Than to see. DOLLARS AND CENTS So how much did it cost me? $948.28 (I may be off by a couple of bucks, but it's an accurate estimate. I mean, I could've said: "Close to $1000!" That sounds much more ominous.) MY REFUND CHECK $338 (Or something close to that.) That, however, does not include the price I will have to pay to have the lenses inserted in my new frames, since I decided to simply order a fresh pair of the same frames I already had, and which Cutler and Gross, shipped in a box much larger and deeper than a shoebox and which were nowhere as fragile as the lenses shipped in the cheapest bubble-lined envelope, and had them in my possession within days. And just imagine ... They had to make it safely across the Atlantic. THE FINAL AND UNFORGIVABLE INSULT However, the most offensive episode of this entire process was when I received an email from them this past Friday (Yes, it WAS Friday the 13th) wishing me a happy birthday. I wrote them back, telling them to remove me from their mailing list, as this last email was not only offensive, but it had totally creeped me out. CREDIT MUST BE GIVEN WHERE CREDIT IS DUE However, credit must be given where credit is due. The examination produced the best lenses I've ever had. But was it worth it? Do the arithmetic. read more

We have been going to V eye P in Gaithersburg since they opened. The service is always a 10/10. The staff is extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They will help in any way they can. I would have to agree with a past review regarding the services received at this practice. The quality of their frames are dated and lack style. Their customer service is sub par and lack the ability to listen to their customers. The so called dr was a jerk and also lacked to listen to the needs of his patients. I will never visit or recommend this location. By the way, he needed a breath mint. I'm better going to Walmart for glasses as that's how I compare this practice. read more
