I called to make a new appointment for my eye check but the front desk lady told me I have a balance due of $120 from years ago. Firstly, I paid the copayment and EVERYTHING they ASKED me to pay before I left the office. Secondly, I didn't receive any bills or invoices after my visit!!! I understand it could be something going wrong but the front desk lady repetitively emphasized in a weird tone "l'm not trying to accuse you" "you didn't contact us so this is what happening". Trying to push it back as making it a customer's fault?! I don't understand how I would know and understand the balance due if I never received anything after my visit. How could it be a customer's responsibility/must-do thing to call a doctor's office after every visit to check the balance due (especially I already paid what the office asked me to pay before I left)? If in this logic, does it mean I must initiatively and proactively call to all the doctors to confirm if there're any due balances after all my visits, otherwise it'll be my fault?! After back and forth on who said what, I tried to pull the conversation back to the main point - why is there a balance due in your system that I'm totally unaware of? I don't understand If something really went wrong, should the representative be patiently explaining the situation to the customer firstly and then discuss in details? I'm very upsetting about the way of communication that Dr Hollier's front desk used. I feel very offended. I hope the doctor's office could see my review and conduct corresponding customer service trainings to improve customer's visit experience.

I was seen by another professional optometrist last year in Rockville for the first time. A friend recommended them. The glasses I ordered were extremely expensive due to the low volume of glasses that I found to fit me. The style I selected and the lenses I required were to provide near and far vision correction. After waiting three weeks, I received the glasses with an incorrect prescription. I said I was very disappointed in their service and said thank you, but I would go elsewhere. I was then told that was not possible without a penalty fee for the services they provided. I said I would seek legal assistance and they suddenly changed their mind. My money was refunded. How unprofessional. I don't think they are in business any longer.

No apology, no effort to squeeze us in, even though I had insurance details ready. Receptionist shrugged it off like it was nothing, and the office manager acted annoyed, prioritizing other patients while dismissing us. When she finally said to the receptionist to just reschedule, she walked away mid-conversation. As we left, declaring we'd never return, the receptionists looked at each other and literally laughed at us. Zero customer service or empathy, avoid this place if you value your time. And from the looks of the review history, I'm not the first one with their "great customer service"

I have changed optometry offices over the last several years because I have not been satisfied with…read moreany of them. That all changed today. A few weeks ago, I called to schedule an appointment. I was told I should complete the patient form online and bring it to my appointment. This morning, on the day of my appointment, I received a text message an hour before my appointment instructing me to wait in my car when I arrived and to call the office. Erika answered my call and said I could come in and to knock when I was at the office. She brought me back to do the initial intake and and the pre-exam tests. I have major anxiety when it comes to the air puff test for glaucoma. She was patient as I had a hard time keeping my eyes open as I always blink like crazy. I asked if it was ok if I lifted my lids to keep them open. That seemed to work. At one point, I actually let out a faint scream because I was startled. Once we were done with the pre-exam she brought me to a room to wait for Dr. Vicky Wong. Dr. Wong was very thorough in explaining what she was doing during the exam, the test results, and with her recommendation since I mentioned that my eyes have been irritated and dry. She suggested that I look away from my monitor during the workday every 30 minutes and to blink. She also gave me a prescription for Xiidra eye drops to use for six months which should help to produce real tears. I was offered a sample and discount card. Note: Allied Pharmacy is conveniently located on the same floor of the building. I had to schedule another appointment to come back to have my pupils dilated to finish the eye exam as I wouldn't be able to see very well for two hours afterwards and I had to go into the office today. When we were done, Kim Barnhouse, the Office Manager, assisted with the payment and scheduling my next appointment. When I got home, I noticed that my state of residency on my receipt and prescription reflected MA and not MD, so I immediately called the office and Kim corrected them both, had the prescription encrypted, and emailed both files to me. If I had any issues with receiving them, she offered to fax or mail them. Sharon Pollack assisted with adjusting a pair of sunglasses I have as the frame had gotten loose. She suggested if I leave them in the car that I shouldn't because they can get warped. She said I could come back any time to have them tightened. I can't say enough good things about the staff in the office. They are an all-star team and the epitome of customer service. I have never experienced this level of service before from ALL the office staff. Everyone is professional, personable, and helpful. I am certainly going to recommend them to anyone who asks. This will be my long-term optometry office from this point forward.

My visit was February 28 2026, I called again on March 25th for a refund for a bad prescription…read more I have poor eyesight so Ive needed glasses to function since childhood, I've had countless eye exams and glasses, but this is my first time receiving a faulty prescription. I had an extremely unhelpful experience with customer service throughout the office from receptionist Jennifer, to eyewear consultant Adrian and finally to the rude manager, sumiya. On Feb 28th after breaking my most updated glasses with a prescription I couldn't get access to, I needed an eye exam asap. I had backup glasses from 2021 but because they were so old I felt it best I get my prescription updated for 2026. so I decided to go to myeyedr for a same day eye exam. (Feb 28) This was the only location available and I ventured the two hour round trip because I needed to order new glasses asap. I was able to schedule online immediately but was automatically cancelled bc they no longer accepted my insurance (Medicaid), I did call to reschedule & confirmed the out of pocket price, $99. They put my card on file as well but I paid cash. This wasn't a problem for me, and I received two pieces of paper as a receipt. The eye exam itself was extremely quick with doctor ramtin nassehi, one of the fastest and least extensive I've had, and I've worn glasses from ages 7-29. I didn't take it as a negative, they are a chain of course. but I did have some worries over how the numbers updated. However I chose to trust the prescription. Nowhere on the receipts was a disclaimer that I had 30 days to dispute, however I was told this is their policy by manager sumiya. who implied to me many times during our conversation that I was mistaken for not notifying them sooner over their mistake. because I was not interested in any of the frames at myeyedr, I used the prescription from Feb 28th to purchase two pairs of glasses, I used overnight glasses and glasses USA. As is typical, it took a couple of weeks for the frames to arrive and both came to me completely blurry, I was not even comfortable to drive in them. The obvious conclusion is that the prescription was incorrect and that is why I was looking for a refund from myeyedr. The next available day I had to call was March 25th, (today) where no one in the office was able to offer me a refund of what I spent, $99 on the faulty prescription. Side note: I was still using glasses from 2021 and felt confident enough in my sight to order two more pairs with that prescription. I have been using them and they do not give me a headache, interfere with my work or ability to drive unlike the pairs I received with the 2026 myeyedr prescription. After speaking to the receptionist, and eyewear consultant Adrian, I was connected to Manager sumiya who implied to me that I was mistaken on multiple accounts, she said I should not have ordered a second pair with the incorrect prescription (I ordered from the two websites within the same day), and that I should not have ordered new glasses with an outdated prescription ( I reminded her that I need to see to drive and work. I will take whatever works) I was offered an eye re-check and to bring in the faulty glasses that I got from the websites to cross check for mistakes. This location is a two hour round trip from me and I still need to make the return with the physical glasses so I wasn't interested in going there. Manager Sumiya eventually offered me the option to go to a more convenient location by notifying that location's manager, however I didn't really see the point. I have a prescription and frames that work for me. I don't feel the need to engage in a drawn out possible solution if I've already found one. Especially since they've lost my trust, and have exhausted my patience. I found manager sumiya to blame me for their mistake on multiple occasions, and the solutions I was offered gave me little comfort in their ability to rectify it. she even told me doctors are humans and make mistakes and that I may be wrong about my hunch that the prescription was weaker, saying maybe my eyes got "better". While both could be true, in my case i found it irritating as i was being verbally dismissed. In general I found the manager sumiya to be accusatory. The issue was not resolved as she told me she would give me a call back after speaking to her managers. From a national chain, I don't think a $99 refund is a hefty ask (I even mentioned concedeing to a partial refund) All in all, I'd avoid this place and probably myeyedr in general and go somewhere with quality reviews and clear policy.

They told me to come back a week later. Pretty simple, right? I returned on the date they said the lenses were supposed to be ready, and they said it wasn't ready, ok fine. I returned again a few days later, and they said that the company cutting the lenses "made a mistake and cut the lenses for the size of my old glasses." Fast forward May 14, I got an email stating it was going t be ready, but again, not ready! Not sure if its a "delay in delivery" out of the factory, but they will text me. This is incompetence to have the lenses cut to a frame that does not fit, especially when I already gave them the frame. I changed to this Gaithersburg store as I thought it would be better, it was closer to home than the other store I used to go to, and better parking (a plus). This is not the first time I had problems with MyEyeDr. A couple years ago at their Rockville store, where I usually went --- they actually LOST frames I gave them, and same thing happened -- weeks went by and finally they admitted they lost the frame! Just couldn't find it. So, they had to give me a frame for free that I chose, comparable to what I gave them. Not sure if they are hiring young kids to work and not paying attention, or dont care, but over 2 weeks waiting for a simple lens that already has a frame is unacceptable. They are very good with appointment setting, taking your order and getting your credit card, but not good with follow up customer service. I already got charged $400 on my credit card, and no delivery yet. The doctors are good, but front desk and staff are not -- only nice up to the point of getting your credit card. Bad.

I then went to another eye doctor that was covered by my insurance plan. After not being satisfied at that location I returned to Wink because the care I got in 2022 was so good it was worth paying out of pocket. I could not believe that 3 years later Dr. Cohn remembered me and picked up our conversation from my first appointment. That level of personalization has solidified that Wink is my permanent eyecare boutique. My eye appointment was so quick and efficient because Wink has the best technology. They can scan your eyes and tweak your prescription in record time. What first put Wink on my radar was the brands of frames they carry. Specifically, I have always wanted a pair of Lindberg glasses. Wink made my eyeglass dreams come true! There was a Lindberg frame I was interested in but they did not have the color I wanted in the store. They placed a special order for me so I can try on the glasses in the color I was hoping would work before I committed to purchasing. The glasses came in, and the rest is history. I am currently writing this review wearing the glasses I have dreamed of owning for the last 10 years. My annual exam cannot happen soon enough. I received the best customer service at Wink and look forward to seeing Dr. Cohn and the rest of the amazing staff again next year.
