Western Omelette

My new favorite donut place and the bonus is it serves more than donuts. I was craving a blueberry cake, but was totally surprised when I was able to order a full breakfast. The customer service is great, the food is sooo good, and the dining area is spacious and clean. I'm already super excited for my next visit. Thanks V Donuts!

Possibly the best lemon-filled donut I've ever had.

It was ok. Something off the wall to go to. I would not make it my favorite place to eat. But I would not turn my nose up at it either.

As far as I'm concerned, Donut Factory is a staple in Pearl, MS. Most of the people who live in…read morePearl are from there.... born and raised. This donut shop is known by everyone. I'm not sure how long it's been here, in the exact same location, but I'm 41 years old and I know it's been there for as far back as my memory will allow me to go. I remember being my kindergarten class from McLauren Heights Baptist Church coming here for a field trip when I was only 5 years old. I can still remember them showing us how they made the donuts and getting to try them while they were hot and fresh. It's odd, the things we remember, isn't it? Anyway, that was when I was 5 and I know this donut shop was here even before that. Basically, my entire life (and probably before that), the good folks here come in around 1am every morning and start making the donuts. They actually open their doors around 3am every morning and yes, being the nightowls we are, we have been there at 3am to get the donuts!! =) You don't necessarily have to get there at 3am, but if you want these goodies, you'd better go early because they start selling out quick every morning. My favourite are the donut holes. Nom Nom Nom. If you want donut holes, you'd better get there really, really early. Usually long before 7am those things are gone! In addition to their awesome donuts, they sell all types of biscuits (they've done this since I was a child too... I still remember eating their sausage biscuits with my daddy when I was a little girl). They have sausage patty biscuits, sausage link biscuits, ham biscuits, and others. The biscuits are homemade. I highly recommend you try one! The prices here can't be beat. It's hard to believe there are still places where you can get great food without having your wallet raped. Speaking of money, they do take cards now, but there's a minimum purchase of $5 to use your card. The employees are all super great. You're definitely gonna experience some of the warm southern charm while you're here.

They have donuts, eclairs, cinnamon rolls, meat biscuits, donut holes, you can even order a king cake year round, and so much more. The staff is always friendly and they have been there for dozens of years. One of our local Mom and pops. If you sat KKreme next door, I'd pick Donut Factory every single time

When you first walk in you'd think that it was just an everyday donut shop. I almost decided not to…read moreget a donut, because, it looked like Krispy Kreme donut. But, it was far from it! We got an Apple fritter and a maple donut. They were both fluffy, light, and airy on the inside, with a crunchy crispy outside. The apple fritter was more like a bear claw with filling in the center. It tasted like a fluffy apple pie. Absolutely delicious! The maple donut had deep caramel notes with a nutty sweet maple glaze. It was incredibly delicious! They were efficient and fast! So, be ready to order a tasty treat!

I LOVE Shipleys and we do not have one where we live so I was so excited to come and get a kolache and glazed donut. Granted it was 10am on a Sunday so a little late to be grabbing donuts (I didn't expect hot ones for sure) but they aren't suppose to close until 12 and you would have thought we walked in 1 minute before closing. The staff was extremely unhappy to be there and seemed annoyed with us even coming in, I even wanted a coffee and decided against it because I didn't want to get the feeling of inconveniencing them further... the chairs were all up on tables where you couldn't even sit down and they were out of almost everything (which again, later in the AM I would expect somewhat but past that the Do-Nuts looked and tasted gross. I have NEVER not finished a Shipley donut and I threw it away, unfinished. So not the way Shipley donuts normally are. They were dense, overcooked, greasy smelling and tasting. So disappointed.

Fast forward to 2016 and I come home from Chicago for a visit. I'm told Monroe's is the best doughnut shop in the city. I've had doughnuts all over America and Monroe's is just the best, period. The doughnuts are always fresh. And while they may not have fancy toppings, you simply get some blooming good stuff. Loved the eclair. Loved the cinnamon rolls. Loved the twisters. Loved the bear claws with apples in them. I'm a fan.

Can't even find the place so I Call the number and the dude who answers sounds like I just woke him up and says "man I don't know what they doin ova there". I said "what? I'm just looking for your place. I see a Wendy's. where is your business in relation to that?" He says "it's a house behind wendys". And hangs up. I walk over to What looks like a Crackhouse and can't even open the safety door to knock on the door- Bars on everything too. I should have gotten out of there instantly, but called him back and I get the same attitude and said "nobody is here and I can't even get to the door to knock on it" He says "lemme call over there" and hangs up. Needless to say I got the hell out of there and arrived to work late and empty handed. Bottom Line: Do NOT waste your time or your gas money going to this dump! Guess I'll just have to leave an hour early next time to go to a suburb doughnut shop in Jackson as there are no options that wanna set up shop in this unsafe town.
