We contracted with UV Swimming Pool to do the hardscape & landscaping of our new construction home in Santa Clarita. After meeting with many licensed contractors, we chose UVSP based on their willingness to work with our plans/design, the timeline they provided, and the structure of their work teams - with an onsite supervisor of the workers and a project manager overseeing day to day operations. They started the job mid March, the completion date in the contract was "approximately 2 months", and we are still trying to get issues resolved in October. By the second week, we were having multiple issues with supervision/communication and quality of their work. A few examples included 1) the firepit being placed in the wrong direction (horizontal vs vertical), 2) multiple excessive cracks in 30x30 concrete sport court requiring repair (patch and sealing) of entire surface, 3) sunken pavers over the utility trench requiring removal, repacking, and reinstallation, 4) wrong side of the driveway prepared for four foot extension (left side vs right side), and 5) multiple drainage and irrigation issues. By the third week, we only had one worker (occasionally two) onsite each day. We needed to make multiple requests for corrections, removal of unnecessary equipment/supplies/trash, and this is not a complete list of the issues we experienced. We have repaired some of the issues ourselves (like the drainage/irrigation) and others we are still waiting for them to return our messages. Our group text message sent on 9/19 has still not been responded to a month later. We like our property design, really liked the quality of trees/plants from Nick's Nursery in Sun Valley, but we would not recommend UVSP for a large hardscape/landscape project. read more
