I could not recommend Shushil and Utopian Events more. He is hands down the best and will go above and beyond for your wedding weekend. He has now done my cousins wedding, my sisters wedding, and mine, and to say he feels part of the family would be an understatement. With Shushil in charge, I never felt the need to check on anything or worry about if he'd be on time because you just know it will all be perfect. Top notch, exclusive and mind blowing are feeling we had when we worked with Shushil and his team at Utopian Events. We choose Utopian Events for our son's wedding reception at the Georgia Aquarium because he came highly recommended by the venue coordinator, however we were more convinced after meeting with Shushil that we made the right choice. Overhyped, overpriced decorators. Had the contract signed with Utopian for our wedding. The lead guy Shushil will not take up contracts below a certain amount (trust me, we were charged a bomb for the decor we got); so he assigned us to work with his not so creative assistant Angelica. Ofcourse things didn't go the way as we wanted to go. Few instances worth mentioning are a. Angelica was trying to argue with us and impose her decor idea on us; please keep in mind we are paying thousands of dollars to them for our special day!, b. when we reported the issues to Shushil later on after the wedding, the response we received in email was Unprofessional & sarcastic. He didn't even bother to get back to us with the root causes and was not at all apologetic! c. center pieces were not what was promised to us or charged for. List goes on. As a Wedding Photographer - Utopian Events are an amazing vendor to work with. I worked with Shushill + his team earlier this year and he was amazing!!! He worked with me the month of the wedding to finalize timelines, confirm changes and he was so attentive in co-ordinating certain aspects to help me as a photographer. He understood many aspects that go beyond the client's vision. He had clean pipe and drapes lines across the room, which is always a pet peeve for me when they are messy or crooked. The stage was exceptionally wide and tall allowing for me to shoot seamless - No exit signs or ceiling exposed on the top or the sides of the reception stage. A decorator that thinks about the final product across the board, for the Video and Photography team. He was ALWAYS on site, to help to out and make sure the scene I was shooting in was perfect. I could not be happier with the job he did in seeing how he turned the client's vision into a reality to make the ceremony and reception into pure perfection! Beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, amazing... I simply do not have enough adjectives to describe the decorations created by Utopian Events for our wedding! Utopian helped to design multiple events for our wedding and each time I walked into the room before the event, I was literally stunned by the beauty of the room. However, what is truly amazing is that each successive event was even better than the last. Our mehendi was whimsical, elegant, and colorful. The ceremony was cool, sleek, but at the same time so ornate. And finally, our reception literally left me speechless with as it struck the perfect balance between being sparkly, but also so incredibly sophisticated! I don't know how to even thank Shushil, Angelica, and the entire team at Utopian Events - they took my incredibly vague ideas and transformed them into something any bride would LOVE to have at her wedding! If you are considering hiring Utopian Events for your wedding - here are a few details about my experience that may help you along your way. First off, I am a bride that lives in the North East, but decided to have the wedding in Atlanta. As a result, I had to meet with many of my vendors during my few and far between whirlwind weekend trips to Atlanta or work with my vendors remotely. During one of my trips to Atlanta before the wedding, we met with a number of different decorators and I have to say, there is absolutely no competition between what Shushil offers and other decorators in Atlanta (I know that sounds so mean to the other decorators, but I truly believe Shushil stands well above everyone else! :P). Here is why I think UE was so amazing though: 1. The inventory available with UE was much more extensive than many others; 2. The creativity displayed by Shushil during our first meeting - I gave him some ideas as to what I wanted and he immediately began tossing out ideas and showing me a variety of pictures to hone in on my tastes.; 3. The high level of responsiveness - there was never a time when UE did not promptly respond to any request. As I noted, since I don't live in Atlanta and it was very hard for me to meet with the vendors repeatedly in person, but this did not pose any issue for UE. They sent pictures, called, and emailed in response to any questions that I had over the course of our planning!; 4. The level of detail - since I couldn't be there for every minute of the planning, I needed to rely heavily on Shushil et al. to ensure that everything would be ok for our wedding and they truly did not disappoint. Every little detail was perfection!! The attention to detail (especially when the bride is unavailable to oversee) is what is truly remarkable - it shows the level of commitment that Utopian Events invests in every single one of their clients.; And finally, 5. Service - I remember calling Shushil a few days before the wedding freaking out because we needed additional garlands for puja at home, but telling him I had no time to pick them up - no problem at all, Shushil ensured they were delivered to my house an hour before the puja. That is amazing! What busy professional in today's world provides this level of service to their customers?? I will tell you that level of service is very difficult to find and yet, it seems to be the motto for Utopian Events - high quality decoration with high quality service! I would recommend Utopian to anyone and everyone - they are truly wonderful, responsive, the price is more than reasonable, and the quality of work outshines all competitors! We agreed on a contract and we paid the full amount, however utopian events did not follow the contract. First of all, the prices kept increasing every time we talked to Angelica. They promised they could open up our Mandap for the reception and after we signed the contract, she argued that she couldn't do it. The week of my wedding, I was receiving text messages about changing the centerpieces that we had already agreed upon. I clearly stated to stick to the contract but during the wedding, utopian events decided to do whatever they wanted to do anyways. I thought about letting it go but I felt that I should discuss this with shushil. When I brought it to his attention about how I felt, his response was rude. He said why are you bringing this up now? I was not looking for any money back. I just thought he should know feedback to avoid other clients feeling the same way. If I'm paying over 10k on decor, I expect the contract to atleast be followed. It wasn't a miss. It was intentional because they texted me about it and still decided to do what they felt like doing. Shushil, Initially searching for a reputable decor company, specializing in Indian weddings, I was quite impressed. Upon our first meeting on Nov 20, 2013, we felt relieved to have selected a vendor for decor services. The unexpected occurred when we received an email from you, 5 days after our signed off, executed contract, in which you were backing out. This was a first strike for us that this was completely unprofessional. Summing up the aftermath, based on what was expected from the contract and our meetings with you, it was a complete disappointment to all of us for you being unprofessional and unethical to get 100% advanced payment and not providing the products and services as promised. 1. From the start, you were backing out of the executed legal contract to change the selections we had chose after accepting the deposit. 2. The back drop was wrong at garba event. We had not agreed upon this at any point. 3. The wedding mandap was not ready even at 6:15 PM and we had to miss the muhurat. This is a vital religious timing chosen beyond our decision and we couldn't meet this simply due to the mandap not being set up. 4. Wedding decorations were horrible. Both my wife and myself were utterly upset while walking down the aisle and whispering how awful it looks. This was nothing close to the vision nor agreed upon. 5. The equipment used for the event was not of the quality required as per our agreement. The lighting went off during an outdoor evening wedding. This left the main mandap - the center of attention - unlit. This happened again during the reception with the main backdrop. 5. Your services were completely cheapened at the reception from what is expected the promised. There are candles that last undoubtedly for many hours that do have a higher cost that are expected for events like this reception. The candles used went out without even the air on within 30 minutes. I regret choosing Utopian Events and Shushil for ruining my wedding. I do not want anyone to make this mistake so please take my word and advice. read more

Shushil was awesome to work with! He spent three (very) long sessions with us to understand the type of events (sangeet, wedding, reception), the decor we wanted, and our budget we were working with. He was patient with changes that happened over time as we developed more concrete visions of each event. He was great about playing around with different decor ideas so we could be cost effective but still beautiful! He also created centerpieces for our tables and aisle way pieces based on an inspiration photo and they turned out amazing! We got so many compliments on them. He did not push any preferences on us and actually worked with creating decor ideas we had seen elsewhere.
