They are there to do their job and educate what you need to ship your item, that's it. They don't care about their tone, just communicating the information you need. No one ever uses the number machine. It's just there for decoration I think. Just get in line and you'll see people scattered trying to fill out things they forgot or didn't know they needed. Its a bit bigger than most post offices so at least you can find a space to fill out your documents. I'll return because its the USPS.

I mailed a package from my local Fenton, Mo post office today. I purchased extra insurance on my…read morepackage, in case it got lost. I was very apprehensive about mailing it USPS due to the fact they don't have the greatest reputation for delivering packages or mail in a timely manner........putting all that aside for another day, I am totally disappointed that my bill was $45.55. I used my credit card and the fee to use raised my bill to $50.53. I didn't notice until I got home. Had I known there would have been such a fee added on for using my credit card, I would have gladly used cash. Which I had in my wallet. Not once did the clerk mention a fee to use my credit card. I am 73 years old and my only income is social security. While it doesn't seem like much to some people, I find that fee outrageous. The post office isn't the only one to charge extra for credit card usage, but most businesses will have the decency and common courtesy to tell their customers......just another example of poor customer service from our local post office. I will use either Fed Ex or UPS in the future, I encourage others to do the same.

The first time a human answered the phone, she didn't ask me what I needed and put me on hold for close to 30 minutes. I called again, was put on hold again, then hung up on. Three more times like this -- answer, then mysteriously the call is dropped. I call again -- she puts me "on hold," but doesn't realize she hasn't transferred me to the "hold music" and I can hear her shooting the breeze with her coworkers. Not talking about an urgent or professional matter. Just chatting. This goes on for 15 minutes. I hang up and call once more. Now, I work in service and have dealt with my share of jerks and Karens, so I hate to get angry at anyone working a retail/service job. I tell her how many minutes I've been on hold and that I could hear her whole last conversation with her coworkers. She argues with me that she's the only one working the phones today. I ask if I'm going to get some actual help now. She says, "Yes, and you're gonna go on hold." Another 10 minutes. She answers, actually looks up the tracking of one of my packages (this situation was beyond what the website tracking could tell me) and tells me the whereabouts. I ask her to look up the second and last package and start to read the tracking number to her. She puts me on hold again and we are now approaching 30 minutes again. She told me she was the only one working the phones today, and I know how much working understaffed sucks, but this was beyond ridiculous. Either hire this woman some help, or a manager needs to address this completely unprofessional behavior with her.
