some of the nicest folks who are always willing to help and just to say a few kind words to their customer. I am thankful for them.

I requested Priority Mail service for my envelope. The clerk provided the incorrect slip suggesting a larger package when only an envelope was needed and acceptable. When I voiced my concern that the package would not be delivered to a recruit in BMT, the clerk responded with an unprofessional and dismissive attitude. I was overcharged for the service, paying $13.00 when the usual rate is $11.00. Furthermore, the clerk failed to process the mail correctly. She only applied the Priority Mail sticker directly to my personal envelope and did not stamp the mail or place it into the appropriate Priority Mail envelope casing as is standard procedure. The letter is now lost and its whereabouts are unknown. I strongly believe the improper processing is the direct cause of its loss. This is especially upsetting as it was a critical letter to a recruit with limited communication access. I would like to acknowledge that employee Brian was extremely kind, helpful, and professional when I returned to the Post Office to inquire about the lost letter.

Located on St Joseph Street its a huge building, with ample parking on the street as well as a small lot on the side. The building is older but comfortable to be in, its very clean, with a quiet yet efficient air conditioner and heater, and it has an old Mobile charm that most people would find charming. The staff is awesome, unlike some of the horror stories you have heard about other Postal employees, they are on the ball. They can answer most questions efficiently and correctly. They have a large understanding of how to streamline the passport process, rent a p.o. box, sell you a money order or even just send the letter or package you need. The people who work here really seem to enjoy it and go out of their way to help. They always greet with a smile and seem to be able to remember you if you have ever been there before. All in all, probably the best postal experience I have ever had in my life!

I use the approved flat rate box for military and Told me it was $108 when it should have only been $32. I took my package and left. Never again will I visit this location. Employees seem aggravated to be there and that they have to wait on you or maybe they just act that way toward certain people. Horrible experience!!!

But it's okay, I found another one soon after that whole ordeal. Joe, the lead clerk, is funny as heck and will give it to you straight. He has offered up some valuable resources to me, a nerd who at first admittedly had no idea what he was doing. Andrew is the man, super friendly and definitely has management material written all over him if he's not at that level yet. There are a few other clerks whose names escape me, but this team is solid. Did I mention the mail carriers? The ones who deliver to my apartment gave me their numbers so I can call them if I ever have any issues with the nerdy crap being delivered to me. I'm sure the eBay sellers I purchase from appreciate that... To my tall friend, and I'll get your name again next time - save me a sealed ETB if you ever find 2 of something cool!!!!! Not enough good things to say about this place. Selling on eBay has shown me the other side of customer interactions... it is frustrating when a customer is accusatory when you have your bases covered, but I guess that's human nature? Idk.... No excuses. Just a reminder to whoever reads this to be patient, we all have our own unique lives we're leading. To the PM, good luck with your little one on the way!

I judge the level of customer service by how I feel about my interaction with the postal service employees. Unfortunately, this particular location is hampered from being high-performing by at least one employee (caucasian woman) that I interacted with this morning at the front. Her advice regarding how to ship my item was satisfactory (reason for getting 2 stars). However, her general tone felt negative and cynical. I became confused on the timing of the payment for my shipping material, and then she became condescending publicly, which of course made me feel humiliated (even for the brief moment that it occurred). I imagine the local USPS leadership that will read this review will know exactly who I am talking about based on my description of the employee and the interaction (apologies for not getting a name). They will have to weigh the importance of customer service relative to technical skill as it relates to the successful operation of a USPS location. Given that she is likely technically sound, will you just "look away" from the negative behavior?
