I went back to see if they could tell me anything and the people there were very rude about it and were acting like I made a mistake. Save yourself time and go to a different post office any of them but this one

The clerk that helped me was so incredibly rude to me, and made me feel so terrible for having two international packages because apparently they take a long time to process. He was yelling at me and telling the customers who were coming in after me that they had to wait because I had brought in two international packages and that it was my fault they were waiting and not his fault. Every single time another customer would come in, he would yell and tell them that it was going to be a really long wait because "this girl" has two international packages to send out. He told me I was making him "suffer" by having two packages sent internationally. When I apologized for having two international packages and for it taking a little longer, he told me "don't apologize to me, apologize to THEM for making them wait!" and pointed to the customers behind me in line. I then turned to them at this point, told them how sorry I was for making them wait in tears. I have NEVER in my life felt so horribly at the hand of a complete stranger. I went to the location on the corner of Monroe and Michigan in Grand Rapids, and I was helped by a tall, caucasian guy with glasses and a receding hairline. On my receipt, it was clerk #4 but I don't know if that was a number specific to him or the register we were at. The way he spoke to me was ABSOLUTELY unacceptable. All because I wanted my boyfriend to have a piece of home during Christmas while he is ACROSS THE WORLD fighting for our freedom. This is the 2nd time I've been to this location and helped by this man and made me feel horrible for brining in a care package. I have also watched him berate an elderly woman for asking if a package would be mailed by a specific date and her walking out. If he spoke this way to me, he is definitely speaking like this to others as well and that is absolutely atrocious.

This post office is terrible. The staff treats customers as if we should be aware of ALL shipping…read morerequirements, know where packaging material within the lobby is, and basically just shouldn't have any questions at all. As if we are the ones who work there every day. They are rude and condescending. I try to get as much information as I can online before I go here, to try and reduce how rude whoever is working at the desk will be. Basically unless you have a pre-printed, pre-paid label and have everything packed up and ready to go it's not going to be an easy time. One time I needed to tape a package shut. I know I've done that at other post offices before and it's never been an issue. The man behind the counter was so rude. I can understand if that's not something they do, or if they aren't able to tape things for customers, but there was absolutely no reason to be rude about it. In that instance I ended up going home, taping the package, and going back later. It's not the first time I've gone home to fix or change something to avoid having to pay more there. Bring your own tape. Bring your own scissors. Bring your own pens. There was one employee who was very pleasant, but I haven't seen her there in a long time. Which is unfortunate since every other employee I've had to interact with seems to be on a mission to make peoples' lives more difficult. Go to a different location if you can. The folks working in the downtown Rockford location are much more pleasant.

This time, the man was passive aggressive, and did not want to sign the form in front of us. It was only after we insisted that we witness his signature, that he signed. It's so frustrating that they made a mistake and instead of apologizing, acted like it was our fault and refused to correct the mistake. No wonder the post office is failing.
