This post office hires the nicest people. I have had so many negative experiences with workers who…read morearen't helpful or rude but the people here have changed my view of the post office. It's crazy so say but I actually don't mind going now because I know when I go here it will be a good experience. The workers here don't miss! They are all nice all the time. They brought back my faith in people just being nice to each other.

This would be considered my local Post Office but I've probably only been here a handful of times…read moreover the years..a little bit more recently. Almost every single time I have to come here it's frustrating. There's never more than one person handling customers. The line, whether it's only a couple people long or outside the front door, moves at a snails pace. I've literally waited in line here for over a half hour at times. It's just not acceptable..it gives you the same feeling like you're at the DMV half the time..and that's the worst. I've also noticed recently that the cost of postage to send things through USPS is just skyrocketing. Seriously..I've gotten cheaper quotes from UPS..even FedEx at times. I don't understand why their pricing is getting so ridiculous. I know that the postal service has been struggling a lot the past couple of years..but this is not the right route to get things back on track. It's literally just driving your potential customers to seek alternative options for their shipping needs. So yeah..like I just said..come here if for whatever reason you don't have any other choices..but seriously..there are a lot of cheaper and friendlier options out there that you'll probably be better off going with.

That is not their fault for how long it takes. However I said I am picking up a package and I have the tracking number. She said "well why would it be here?" Ma'am because we got an email saying we would have to sign for it and it was at the post office. I explained I had the tracking number and any other information needed to be as accommodating as possible but the rudeness is unacceptable. Especially when it is happening every time we go there.

She derserves the greatest of praise and we thank her sincerely. We had scheduled Premium Forwarding on line starting in mid January and also put a yellow card in our mail box at 7779 Glenover Dr to hold the mail starting Jan 9 until Premium Forwarding was to start. However the carrier continued to deliver the mail into our 7779 box until a neighbor called and said our box was running over. We had our daughter pick up our mail and send to us. I called and was fortunate to get Ashley on the phone. She understood the situation and made corrections to stop delivery to 7779 and start Premium Forwarding. She corrected the overcharges for Forwarding even when there was nothing to forward. We certainly hope she will be there next winter to assist us in obtaining this Premium Forwarding without the problems of the past.

Does it get the job done? Yeah. So if that's what you're looking for, I'd say any post office…read more(including this one) will work. But I've never experienced someone so uninterested in helping a customer before. Maybe I've just been lucky but the other USPS locations I've visited in Bellevue and Covington (Latonia) have always been super kind and helpful when I am mailing a package. I usually get to the counter with my item and the clerk gives me an idea of the best way to package it, either handing me the right envelope/box or pointing out which one to pick from the selection available. Once I fill out the info and package it, the clerk has always reinforced it with packaging tape from behind the counter. It happens every time I go so I assumed that was standard! Well, at my visit to the Newport location, I got to the counter with my item (a book and card) and she just looked at me and said "yeah you'll have to package it, you can't mail it like that." Ok, I understand, I was wondering the best way to send it. She just pointed to the envelopes and told me to pick one. Alright, I guess I could have just started with that myself. After I packaged it, I noticed it was a tight fit and I was worried the stickiness wouldn't hold so I asked if she could reinforce it with tape and she literally handed me Scotch tape. In what world is that going to be sufficient to reinforce a package going through the mail. I asked if she could actually use packing tape and she just pointed back at the shelf and said I could buy some. What?? I was honestly a little shocked so I asked if maybe each USPS location was run as a franchise (you know, each one having different policies) - just trying to give the benefit of the doubt. But she just said she tries to follow the rules and it's definitely not allowed to use their own tape to reinforce customers' packages. I mean, I know in the grand scheme of things, this isn't a huge disaster of a visit, but if you're looking for cheerfulness and helpfulness, go elsewhere. P.S. no, it was not busy. I was the only customer in the office at the time. P.P.S. The older I get, the more I sound like my mother and it's depressing. I've never wanted to complain about anywhere or anyone. I'm a freaking millennial - it's just not our thing. We're all just out here trying to do the best we can, right? But geez people are making it hard to be optimistic in life. It's not hard to try a little, especially when a customer is being polite.

Why leave a message when you clearly are not going to follow through? It is what I'm coming to expect from their employees since they left my passport on my porch in the rain yesterday to be ruined!
