Does it get the job done? Yeah. So if that's what you're looking for, I'd say any post office…read more(including this one) will work. But I've never experienced someone so uninterested in helping a customer before. Maybe I've just been lucky but the other USPS locations I've visited in Bellevue and Covington (Latonia) have always been super kind and helpful when I am mailing a package. I usually get to the counter with my item and the clerk gives me an idea of the best way to package it, either handing me the right envelope/box or pointing out which one to pick from the selection available. Once I fill out the info and package it, the clerk has always reinforced it with packaging tape from behind the counter. It happens every time I go so I assumed that was standard! Well, at my visit to the Newport location, I got to the counter with my item (a book and card) and she just looked at me and said "yeah you'll have to package it, you can't mail it like that." Ok, I understand, I was wondering the best way to send it. She just pointed to the envelopes and told me to pick one. Alright, I guess I could have just started with that myself. After I packaged it, I noticed it was a tight fit and I was worried the stickiness wouldn't hold so I asked if she could reinforce it with tape and she literally handed me Scotch tape. In what world is that going to be sufficient to reinforce a package going through the mail. I asked if she could actually use packing tape and she just pointed back at the shelf and said I could buy some. What?? I was honestly a little shocked so I asked if maybe each USPS location was run as a franchise (you know, each one having different policies) - just trying to give the benefit of the doubt. But she just said she tries to follow the rules and it's definitely not allowed to use their own tape to reinforce customers' packages. I mean, I know in the grand scheme of things, this isn't a huge disaster of a visit, but if you're looking for cheerfulness and helpfulness, go elsewhere. P.S. no, it was not busy. I was the only customer in the office at the time. P.P.S. The older I get, the more I sound like my mother and it's depressing. I've never wanted to complain about anywhere or anyone. I'm a freaking millennial - it's just not our thing. We're all just out here trying to do the best we can, right? But geez people are making it hard to be optimistic in life. It's not hard to try a little, especially when a customer is being polite.

Received a message to callback the post office, and wait for next available agent on the line…read morebut the line rings for a solid 3 minutes and disconnects. I tried several times. Why leave a message when you clearly are not going to follow through? It is what I'm coming to expect from their employees since they left my passport on my porch in the rain yesterday to be ruined!

After they began forcing everyone to use the kiosk, I had an issue when I scanned the QR code the screen told me to see an associate. I got back in line and when I got to the counter she 'scolded' me and told me I should have used the kiosk. I let her know it said to see a worker and she huffed at me and shook her head. The next time I took a return in, they were demanding that everyone use the kiosk. Each person they waited on got the same speech- did you try the kiosk?! I definitely got it, they do NOT want Amazon returns at this location. I take all of my returns to Kohl's when given the option. The good- my daughter had an Amazon return last week. She was not given Kohl's as an option and her only choices were the Amazon store in Clifton or the ups store. She's had the same experiences with returns at this location and was leery about getting yelled at, but we decided it was closer. There was no one in line but we went to the kiosk and it worked! The person at the counter actually thanked us for using the kiosk. Basically, I believe this store is lacking in customer service. So many people have issues with technology and don't know how to proceed only to be scolded once they're there. I agree with another post that they should put up a sign stating 'No Amazon Returns' if they're going to continue treating customers this way. I've worked in customer service for 2 decades and was always told it takes 10 positive comments to make up for 1 negative.

I walked in at 2:30 pm ( as I said I would) with a need for a notary and shipping of a very important document. I was greeted with "Oh sorry! She left ". A cross town journey entailed on to be turned down again and again. In the pouring rain no less. Finally found a notary. BTW, MY BANKS PNC AND 5/3 refused. But they had good reason and really helped me. Long story short, UPS SUCKS AND LIES!! They need to take appointments and call people with unavoidable cancellations. If truly unavoidable. I am a notary. Not that hard if you can add 2 digits. If you require services at the Glenway UPS, call 5 minutes before you get there. Or you may be screwed.
