Fast, friendly and efficient. Exactly what you would not expect from a license bureau! I will never go anywhere else!

I wanted to make sure I had the proper documents, (and if TSA would really accept an expired license because there was no way to find out from the airport.) But when I called the BMV the day before, whoever answered wasn't sure. When I tried to call back before going many times, no one ever answered the phone. Of course Saturday is crazy busy, with parking even hard to find. I'd recommend going on a weekday. The system for waiting was very efficient, with a machine to enter your cell so you'd be texted, as well as your line number displayed up on a monitor when ready. I only waited 15 minutes, which wasn't bad considering the crowd. The driver's license renewal went smoothly. I guess there's some kind of system back up, because my license had to be mailed out 4-6 weeks later. They gave me a print out of it I could use wherever needed. There was major confusion though over our handicapped hang tag. They'd given us one with a wrong number on it previously and told us to come back in for a new one (in a handwritten letter.) The clerks asked for the letter, which we didn't have. They decided after talking it out amongst themselves in front of us that our current tag is fine. I really hope so! I was also able to register to vote and change my address at this bureau. Tips: they take cash, credit or check. This bureau also does title transfers and title service, has a notary service and many other services.

As someone who just moved to Cinci from out of state (PA), I came here based on Jessi C's…read morerecommendation below. It was about a 30 min drive from where I live, but definitely worth not having to go to multiple locations to get my license, tags, and title updated. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I went on a Wednesday morning around 9:30am and was out of there by 10:15am. Only 45 minutes!! However, I'm sure if you go during a more popular time, after 4pm on a weekday or any time on a weekend, you'll be waiting longer. If you do your research ahead of time you can make sure you have what you need to get everything updated without frustration. For your license, you'll need items to provide proof for: legal name, date of birth, social security number, ohio residency, and citizenship. They have a very extensive list of items they accept for proof: http://www.ohiobmv.gov/dl-identity-documents.aspx . For a title transfer they'll use some of the items above and then also bring in your car's title. The Process: First go to the BMV side and grab a paper waiting number. When they call you up ask for an out of state inspection. They'll just go out to your car and record the VIN and mileage. From there go to the title counter (grab a plastic waiting number if there's a line). They'll transfer the title and then send you back to the BMV side to get your updated license and plates. You should not have to wait in line going back to the BMV again, just go back to the same person who helped you with your out of state inspection. Helpful pointers based on my experience: I forget the exact numbers, but every step of the process has charges. If you don't use cash you'll pay more to use a credit card. I think I paid around $100-120 for everything. Unless I didn't see it, they didn't have a mirror by the camera for your new license photo. So bring one yourself or go to the bathroom to fix your hair/makeup before they call you over there. They took my picture in one take and didn't show it to me, so if you're more self conscious about pictures, ask to be able to see it ahead of time.

I average 8-10 cars/trucks/motorcycles a year in and out of my driveway. The title side here is amazing, in and out quick, and they are always very helpful. The BMV is amazing customer service considering people have been waiting in line for 30 plus minutes and tend to be grumpy. I have never been treated badly or even given anything other than exemplary customer service. If you do need to come here and get both title and tags, make sure to get a number before going in to get your title done. You will save yourself 10 minutes easily. I have nothing but good things to say about this location. I have been to others that are much longer lines and at least here you can look out and see the cars driving by.

After getting a number, we had a long wait time to get a simple vehicle inspection - which was also a joke. The employee literally walked around the vehicle, wrote down the VIN number and the mileage. For this we waited about 1.5 hours. The communication of the employees wasn't clear and I left there just as confused as when I walked in. Overall a total waste of time! The next morning we went to the location in Lebanon and it was a totally different experience!

I am writing to share feedback regarding a recent interaction at your facility(CENTERVILLE BMV) My…read moreson was in the process of applying for his Temporary Permit, and we encountered a staff member whose conduct I found to be unprofessional and unhelpful. During the identification verification, we presented his USCIS-approved ID. This is currently in use while his Naturalization Certificate is being processed - a situation that often requires a bit more understanding and patience. When a second form of identification was requested, we offered a recent bank statement. Unfortunately, our attempt to have this document printed is (on their printer as she instructed)at the counter was unsuccessful. The staff member, a young lady with curly hair( her ID was flip-back),then informed us that my son would need to retrieve another address-bearing ID from home. While we fully comprehend and respect the need for proper identification, the manner in which this information was conveyed was notably abrupt and dismissive, creating an unnecessarily stressful atmosphere. Further concerns arose when my son attempted to clarify his preference regarding the organ donor question on his application. His initial query was met with an apparent lack of acknowledgment. When I politely reiterated his question, the staff member responded curtly with, "Let me just finish this!" This interaction, delivered without eye contact, felt very dismissive and demonstrated a clear unwillingness to assist with a simple, yet important, clarification. Adding to our disappointment, when I tried to ask a follow-up question concerning the identification requirements, I was interrupted mid-sentence. This repeated pattern of being cut off and disregarded made effective communication extremely difficult. It is particularly disheartening as this is not an isolated incident; we experienced similar rude and interruptive behavior from the same individual during a previous visit in May. The overall lack of courtesy and professional engagement displayed by this staff member was deeply disappointing. We believe that all individuals undertaking official processes deserve to be treated with respect and patience. I hope this detailed feedback will be utilized to review staff conduct and reinforce the importance of professional customer service, ensuring that future applicants have a more positive and respectful experience.
