Her pasta was crunchy (sorry but that means RAW) and my burger tasted like it came from a packet. Not what you expect when you're paying these prices. They didn't have oat milk so Courtney couldn't have her iced latte and that basically ruined the whole evening. She sat there saying the "vibes were off" which as her mother I could immediately tell was TRUE. Staff were friendly but a bit too laid back if you ask me. This isn't a festival, it's a RESTAURANT. Won't be rushing back. Courtney says she's "never eating here again" and honestly I stand with my daughter. DO BETTER. -- Sharon x

We didn't have a reservation but the sweet man who greeted us found us a table very fast. This is a family owned business and you can tell how much pride and love they put into it. Both of the owners explained all the dishes to us and were so helpful in making our decisions. We started with the lemonade which is house made by their own mother every day. It had a different type of sweetness to it, almost like it was made with honey instead of sugar but I really enjoyed it. We also got the Trio of Salads which were so good! A few of them were a bit spicy but nothing we couldn't handle. They also kept the bread coming which I never hate! We also split the Tuna Brik and it was amazing! For our mains we had the Honey Lamb which was covered in pistachios. The lamb fell right of the bone and was so tender. We also tried the Ojja which is more of an elevated Shakshuka - dipping the bread in the sauce was a highlight at the end. Overall, this was such a unique meal with wonderful flavors. The owners service was the true stand out of this meal. They really do provide a wonderful experience for all of their guests.

Overall: A // 5 stars…read more Cozy restaurant with a kitchenside bar, focusing on farm to table small plates centered around clever usage of vegetables to make stunning dishes. I found the cuisine to be vibrant and healthful, with bright and energizing flavors that were well executed overall. The staff are knowledgable about the menu and dish conception, and generally pleasant and friendly to converse with. (Jacqual: B) - Simply presented drink that features hibiscus and citrus with zero proof beer, which I found fascinating. The beer notes are in the background prevailed by the sourness of the other components, where I wish there was a little more added sweetness. (Fried Maitake: A) - Perfectly seasoned dish with tender and high surface area mushrooms coated in an impressly crisp batter given the moisture usually found in mushrooms. The seasoning could not be better with the salt and spice combo; the chive and parsley mayo also add an herbaceous depth of flavor. (Heirloom Tomatoes: A) - Pefectly plated tomatoes with a surprising sunflower seed forward profile given the subtleness of the ingredient; the dish is well balanced and brings out the harmonious flavors of the garden, although I think the bites with flake salt had that even more perfect note. (Hanger Steak: A+) - Beautifully perfected cut of beef with Asian inspiration; the steak is juicily pink with a charred exterior; the carrot ginger puree has a lovely mild and lingering spice, with some additional spice coming from the shishito and the pickled jalapeno. Beautiful dish. (Peach Sorbet: C) - Flavorally pleasant dessert with peach three ways and a nut crumble to add crunch; the sorbet was very hard though and could have benefitted from spirits in the churning process. We walked over hoping to grab taziki and hummus, but learned they don't serve hummus (not actually a Greek food, apparently). Fair enough. We got the taziki at least. We also opted for an eggplant dish and some sausage for a bit of protein, but the wait was too long for a sit-down meal, so we ordered to go. The waiting area was packed, and we noticed the delicious-looking sangrias on nearly every table in the dining room. On a whim, we asked if they did sangrias to go--the answer was a firm no--but they offered us a standing area near the bar in the back where we could enjoy drinks while waiting for our order. Sold. The back room was warm and inviting, with drinks displayed on stairs built into the walls that doubled as shelves behind the bar. There were cozy high seats as well, making it a perfect spot to settle in. The sangria was absolutely delicious, with spiced notes that transported me back to last summer in Andalusia. It made the wait fly by. We grabbed our food and left happy, but I'd love to come back for a proper sit-down meal. We're in town for two more days, so I'm hoping to make it happen before we leave. This was a delicious little introduction, and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Unfortunately we devoured the food before I thought about getting photos.

The Long Version: My husband and I were chilling in our hotel when my husband had a hankering for some shawarma. He didn't want to go too far, and I encouraged him to try a new-to-us place, lol. So a quick search led him to Shawarmaz. Shawarmaz is a Canadian company that started 2013 in Montreal. It has several locations but they are all in the Greater Montreal Area. My husband got the beef shawarma in a pita $9.79. They have the option of getting your shawarma in Saj bread or a baguette and those options are more expensive. He got lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, turnips and onions. For his sauces he got hummus, spicy garlic and chipotle. He enjoyed the shawarma. I had a bite so I could review it (I also went with him so I could see the restaurant and take pictures) haha. I thought it was pretty good. They give you a decent amount of protein. And the beef was flavourful and not gristly. I was surprised that the wrap was not too spicy considering the sauces he chose. The decor is fast food restaurant-like. Service was good but it did take a while for the food, although it's likely because there was a pretty long line up. Review #205 (2025)

Not a huge amount of seating and the three times we've been, we've seen lineups for groups larger than four waiting to be seated. Most of the items are offered grilled or fried, but you can ask for a different cooking method and they try to accommodate. They have a set menu from which to choose OR you can, as mentioned previously, pick your own fish by weight to be prepared. Unless you have a specific fish in mind that you must have and the exact cut or piece, I highly suggest just sticking to one of the menu items to keep your bill reasonable. The menu items are very fair in price, but if you start to get fancy and ask for a piece of halibut to be cut, don't be surprised if your meal quickly becomes $40 lol, which would be expected at a more fine dining establishment, but in this diner type of setting, is a bit much. I always order the grilled shrimp plate which is 8 medium-sized well seasoned grilled shrimp that come with crunchy, tasty french fries and a very nice, fresh garden salad. The price on that dish is $15, and it's a very generous portion. The appetizer sized calamari is also a very good deal at $10, easily shared between two people. Note, the calamari looks pale and unappetizing at first glance, but it's cooked just right and tastes great. For the fish and seafood lovers, this definitely is a more unique place and so many types of fish to try!
