I've been to a couple of them, and this location is definitely one of my favorites, along with the Jean-Talon location. You know the food is good when everyone at the table goes quiet because they're too busy eating. This was actually my first time ordering La Toxica on Uber Eats since I live pretty far away, and even with a 75-minute wait, it was 100% worth it. The carnitas tacos are probably the best tacos I've had so far. I haven't found another place that does them quite like this. The al pastor is incredible too flavour-wise, it's hard to find anything that compares. I've tried a lot of taco spots around Montreal, and this is one of the closest experiences I've had to authentic Mexican tacos. I enjoy Three Amigos, but it's a completely different style of food. La Toxica feels like the kind of place where someone's mom or grandma is in the kitchen making recipes that have been passed down for generations. The Birria and the consommé is always packed with flavor. If you're not sipping the consommé after dipping your tacos, you're missing out. Highly recommended.

The caramel-filled churros here are also a highlight--crispy on the outside, warm and gooey with caramel inside. They're hands down my favorite churros in Montreal. The tacos are fresh and flavorful, with a great variety of options, and the guacamole, which you can buy to go, is creamy and fresh. Service is friendly, and while it can get a little noisy during busy times, the overall experience is worth it. If you're in Montreal, definitely check this place out for a tasty taco and churro fix! We were enjoyed the food, it was flavorful, seasoned well, and really filled our craving for Mexican food. After we finished our dinner, again we waited, waited, and waited for our server to come back to our table. She never checked on us as to how we were enjoying our food. She brought the check, we paid, stood to leave and she said thank you as my husband handed the check back to her. He quickly mentioned it was our anniversary, she stopped and asked if we would want to sit back down and she would bring us a dessert. It was nice to offer, but she could have learned this if she would have taken a moment to talk to us. We didn't need a long conversation, just to feel welcome, and we felt in the way as they were busy. We thanked her, but we didn't want to spend an hour waiting for a dessert, so we graciously declined and left. It really is a shame. But it doesn't stop there! They have all kind of treats for you to try. We decided to try the mangolada, the elote and of course the mango Loko. But they have other fruits more drinks and even smoothies you can some protein powder into and nachos that look amazing. This small shop is decorated brightly and really make you feel like your in Mexico. The mangoloko was seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of chamoy and tajin. They also add a small slice of lime and a mint leaf that just elevated the flavours so much more. The mangonada was sweet and rich the mangos used here definitely are ripe! Lastly the elote.. ohhh man was this the winner! Perfectly cooked I opted not to get its spicy but the mix of cheese and talks made my mouth do a happy dance. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

Despite high Google ratings my experience here was just satisfactory. The tacos here were small and quite dry--both the tortilla and the meat. The quantity of pastor with pineapples was very scant and I found the flavor kind of tasteless. I don't quite remember the taste of the chorizo tacos. The guacamole wasn't memorable either. The food looked better than they tasted... At least in my photos :p I know there's the authentic experience but the restaurant didn't feel as clean as I'd like. But, its not an expensive dining experience. For two orders of tacos, Jarritos soda, guac and beans it came to around $30 if I recall. I wanted to like this place but it was underwhelming for me unfortunately.
