This is now a super favorite spot just for these. Had the chicken breast plate which came with a large salad and rice + beans. The rice was super good, cooked way better than most places. The chicken had some spices on it but there wasn't anything too special about the plate. They have a lot of authentic drinks too, my favorite is Horchata which was spiced just right. Cinnamon and maybe some nutmeg in there. Perfection! The staff was very very nice too, although a bit slow at the end when waiting for a box. We sat down at a long table (the restaurant is a good size and pretty large groups could definitely enjoy a meal here together). We all had some pupusas (with the traditional toppings) and horchata (one of my favorite drinks on a hot day) - delicious. The interior of the restaurant is traditional, charming, and very comfortable. The service was excellent - everyone was so kind and warm. It was a great meal to start a day of exploring the rich food culture of the Jean-Talon area of Montreal. I would happily return.

I had a small one to share. The fish ceviche was sooo good. The freshly grounded black peppercorns and the lemon juice make the dish so fresh. And the chips were crunchy. Pupusa is new to me. I liked it. From the picture you can't tell it has filling inside. The fried pork was ok, and it would be better if with some spicy sauce. I would trade it for some tacos next time. Nevertheless it's my first time to try manioc, and I liked it. This place is a hidden gem.

It was one of the best I've ever had, since I discovered what they were (sort of Latin pancake or griddlecake) years ago on trip. This one was mixed with white cheese and Loroco (which is a part of a local flower and a classic item to have blended in). The pupusa came with chopped cabbage and a mild tomato salsa that is more orange than red. Both in little plastic baggies which is super authentic. It was also larger (meaning wider) than most I've tried and so at $4 each they are fairly priced. Note: Their menu has several Mexican and Italian dishes on it as well, so it covers a nice range of dishes. The chef was trained in Italy, so that would explain the Italian dishes. They have just put up a new large menu in the front window which is a nice improvement from the rain stained ones they had hanging from the front wall of their terrace before that.
