By far, this was the greatest nightclub I have ever been to. Truly an amazing place. I only came…read morehere once, some years back but it has NEVER left my mind. First, I must tell you a story of me & my pals bored on a Sunday afternoon at Hooters at Crossgates Mall in Albany. There were several of us talking about doing something spontaneous and one said "Ever been to Montreal?" "Umm...NOOOO! Let's jump in the Blazer and ride." We head north for over 4 hours driving into the unknown, wondering what type of adventures we would have. There was an air of excitement with that "going to another country" feeling. Road trip bitches...more than that because it was UNPLANNED ROAD TRIP. We were wondered if we should smuggle a shitload of Molson's XXX back with us. (Used to be illegal in NY back in the day) Good thing we didn't... We stop at border patrol and they're looking at our licenses. Typical "Why are you going to Canada?" type inquiries. We were asked to get out and wait inside their detention center. Yes...detention center. We walk in and to our left, a glass room with over a dozen middle-eastern people. Men, women and children. To the right, 6-8 Hasidic Jews, just waiting... We sit down and know that a SUV loaded with 4 guys, one girl, all minorities and one of us with the last name HASSIM is gonna conjure up some questions. Everyone...EXCEPT ME, were asked to go into a room alone with the border officer. To this day, I still have no idea why. After hanging out for almost 40 minutes, we're on the road again. We found Urgence later after leaving a strip-club (don't ask). One of the strippers suggested it. Damn...she was right on. The club was in this suburb area away from the city. It was in a HUGE warehouse type building. It was 3 days before New Years and there was a tent in front of the door with cloud-like rolls of vapors from the heat inside. This place was dark and hot. Lasers flying everywhere while the main ballroom had the illest hip-hop playing. Packed with people just dancing like their lives depended on it. Truly amazing was the only way to describe it. Me & Mike wandered into the techno & house room. FUCKING SICK!! The beats were beyond bone-crushing and the lights were pheonomenal. Pure bass was my dinner that night. I had my glow-sticks and I did my thing for a solid hour before I went back to hip-hop land. After a couple of hours of hard partying and noticing that there was not ONE fat person anywhere in this club, we took off for NY. Not trying to be rude, but everyone in there was fucking hard-bodied out. Still a great fucking night. So we're on the road, it's Monday morning around 6:30 and we just passed Saratoga. People are knocked out. We pull over and I "call in sick" to work. Did I want to go? Hell NO!! I also had no idea if we would get back in time anyway. We got home after dropping people off left and right at 8:17AM and we all passed out. GREAT NIGHT all around. Best club EVER.

I left some of my homophobic friends in a bar on St. Laurent and adventure into the night. If you are single, like me, fed up of snobby clubs in Montreal, give this club a try. Admission was 6$, actually free if you compare it to other Montreal clubs. Staff is so friendly that you want to adopt them, drinks are beyond reasonable (paid 5$ for a gin-tonic and my friend had a 5.50$ local beer), with a good variety, huge dance floor and amazing sound. People going out there are grounded, mixed crowd, peaceful and very friendly. There is no particular dress code, I only assume that could be labeled as casual. Guess where I am going out to dance from now on?

My trip was going to be from 1st August to 13th August but there was a incident which happened on 4th August which made me traumatized and I returned back to Toronto. So, basically me and 2 indians friends and 1 one from other country were at CLUB UNITY on Friday the 4th of August. We were in the line and when we reached to the bouncer he asked me if I have a reservation. I said no so he snatched me outside the line and said I cannot go in and nither my friends. I was like okay no problem then can I make a reservation? He said no. But he did not ask other people in the line for reservations and he was removing àll South asian people from the line. I asked a guy and a girl (caucasian) in the line if they have one and they said no and they said we can go without a reservation (I saw them getting in without being asked for a reservation just their ID). As well as on the website there was nothing mentioned and even club unity's Instagram. I called the customer service and she said we don't let anyone without a reservation but I told her that other people are going and she said no we need a reservation and the customer service was not helpful too. I have videos too where you can see that the people were not asked for the reservation except for brown skin. I am so upset because Unity was the club were I first went after coming out as gay. Later I put a review on google and the person from Club unity said I did not had a ID but that was never a case because if he asked me for a different ID then I would have given him. I honestly want justice and not someone responding with a rude too.

My friend loves Spanish music and especially Salsa dancing so this was right up her alley. We took a cab to the address and we got lost. This place is difficult to find, it needs a better sign out at the front. When we found it we opened the door to reveal a very long flight of rainbow colored steps that lit up...so pretty! Females entry i believe was $5. At the bar area we shared a couple drinks and like a club it was quite expensive which we knew would happen. Finding a spot to sit was okay but flagging down someone to take our order was a bit of a hassle. We were at the bar initially but they asked for us to be seated and someone will come to us. We got a few cocktails and they were all made extremely light for the price we paid. We figured it would have had at least a bit more alcohol and not taste like it was a mocktail. Luckily the dance floor is a 5/5. We got to dance the night away and every 30 minutes or so they turn on their fog machines. Can't see a single thing in front of me... we found this quite hilarious so we didn't mind at all. The dance floor is quite small but just perfect for the small crowd (surprisingly empty on weekends). I would come again i did find it more interesting than a few of the other clubs we went to that night. The palm trees, the lights everywhere, it was surely a sight to see.

The rules are straightforward: 1. No alcohol 2. No gum 3. No photos or videos (... also the unofficial rule that the right side is the gay side and the left is the straight side by the end of the night. It's not an actual rule, but a cultural thing). Complaints about it being alcohol-free, having gum taken away, or being told to put phones away miss the point entirely. Those are exactly the kinds of behaviors the club is trying to filter out, and it's part of what makes the experience what it is. Don't go expecting a flashy or luxurious venue. There is no VIP area on purpose - everyone in the club is considered equal. The lighting is minimal, and the layout is simple... mostly a large seating area and a big dance floor. You're there for the sound system, which is arguably the best currently functioning club speaker system anywhere on the planet, and for the atmosphere, which is on another level. There's a reason it consistently ranks among the favorite venues of top DJs worldwide.

Drinks at this dancing club are not that great and watery but as you expect we come here to dance so we don't really care. I don't know what time they close but we get out around 5 in the morning.

The music is honestly low, vibrational, top 40 piece of shit non-sense but since this place is so cool, I can forgive it. Especially if you get smashed enough, the music will be Beethoven to your ears. There's a small, decent sized dance floor but the place is pretty big to bring the dancing to other areas.
