I was a long-time patient at this office and have watched firsthand the cliff this practice has jumped off. If you're searching for a reliable primary care doctor near Libertyville or Gurnee, avoid Dr. Peter Puthenveetil at Greenleaf Medical Associates. He no longer prioritizes patient care--just Ozempic, Botox, and the cash flow. The medical staff is robotic, unhelpful, and disengaged. Communication is nonexistent, with exception of a termination letter from their practice. There's no real support or follow-through. It's a disorganized, reactive office that leaves patients chasing basic care. There is no longer any partnership in your health here--just profits over people. Stay far away.

Dr. Melnick was my doctor for many years, and also my son's doctor. In all my years dealing with…read moredoctors, I can honestly say you will never find a more compassionate, understanding physician who truly cares about his patients as individuals. After one of my surgeries, he even came to see me personally, which meant the world to me. What I respected most about him was that he was never afraid to tell me the truth when I needed to hear it. At one point, another pain management doctor had me on extremely high amounts of medication, and I didn't even realize how much it was affecting me because I trusted the treatment plan. Dr. Melnick suggested a short rehab stay to evaluate my actual pain level, and it honestly changed my life. By that Monday, I felt like a new person, and I never went back down that road again. Doctors like him are rare. Since COVID and telehealth changed so much in healthcare, I've realized even more how hard it is to replace a doctor you truly trust. I was late to appointments a few times over the years, and I always worried he may have felt disrespected, but that was never my intention. Great doctors are like great family, hairstylists, or dentists -- once you find one, you never want to lose them. I still miss him and that entire office very much...‍‍
