My husband went to see Dr. Mass for a work comp follow up. He made my husband and myself feel like he was actually listening and cared about what was going on. He sat right in front of my husband and talked to him and listened. We never felt rushed and all of our concerns were addressed. Will definitely be back if anything comes up. A couple of weeks ago I was cutting food in the kitchen and my dog got tangled in my legs. Long story short I ended up actually cutting my hand. I knew that it was severe enough that it needed attention but I also knew that I didn't want to go to the emergency room. There's so much stuff going on with Covid that I wanted another option. I was really happy to be able to go to the clinic. I walked in and within maybe 15 or 20 minutes I was talking to the doctor there who said that I needed stitches. Thankfully nothing else was wrong with my hand. He took a really good lookto make sure the tendon was still totally fine and that I would still have complete mobility in my hand. Several stitches later and a bandage I was sent home to heal. A week later I came back where they were able to take out the stitches because it was healing just fine. I really do recommend the clinic for folks who need medical assistance but Don't need an actual ER to service them. read more

On Sept. 1, 2020, I went to LF Acute Care for a Covid test, because I had sniffles and my work wouldn't allow anyone with symptoms to come in unless they could prove they didn't have Covid. This was early in the pandemic, so tests were hard to come by. LFAC promised rapid results (30 minutes), so I went, so I could go to work the next day. When I went in, I was put in a makeshift room where a nurse or someone gave me the test. I waited in the "room" until a doctor came in, about 30 minutes later, to tell me my results were negative. That's it. No exam or discussion or anything. Fast forward to December of 2021, when I suddenly receive a bill from LFAC for $100. Okay, they're not in my HMO group, so I paid. I thought it was odd that the bill came more than a year later and that I had to pay them through a website called Papaya Payments, but whatever ... I pay my bills. Fast forward to today, June 1, 2022. I just got another bill in the mail for "medical services" from 9/1/20. This time the bill is $332. Actually the bill was for $382, but they apparently got $50 from my insurance. For what? I already paid. Why are they sending me a brand new bill for a different amount almost 2 years after the service? And what kind of nonsense did they say to my HMO to get $50 from them. One of my colleagues had a similar experience with LFAC, where they went in to get tested as a family, and now they keep getting different bills for different amounts for different family members, despite the fact that they all just got covid tests there. This place is fishy. Go anywhere else. read more

An absolute disorganized mess of a place. I fasted all morning, came in for blood work, then the next I received a call to return because they messed up my labs. Pretty disappointing experience. First of all- Holy HIPAA violations. The whole staff was openly talking in the front desk area about a patient with first and last name and his medical conditions, as they called around to other hospitals saying this info in front of everyone in the waiting room. Just disgraceful, I would be mortified if the others in my community heard all that (especially given what this man's ailments were). The scale is also pretty much right in the waiting room and they read people's weights out for all to hear (not the end of the world but goes along with general sense of lack of privacy). Second of all- My personal visit. The doctor (Schneidman) told me I probably had the flu but he 'did not believe in Tamiflu' because 'what's it going to do? Make you pay $150 to make you feel better 12 hours sooner'? Um YES, and guess what I want to feel better sooner, I want to be able to take care of my family and go to work and an extra day of being able to do that is worth $150 for me. Needless to say he sent me home with nothing, did not even fully listen to my symptoms, and I was sick for 12 more days. Also, I heard him giving that same spiel on tamiflu to the room next to me, so I didn't feel personally cared for. 2 stars given for cleanliness, location/ open on a Sunday, and friendliness of front desk. read more

This place is so overrated! We went here spring of 2020, when Covid testing was hard to come by...there were barely any other options...fast forward to today. Now you can get all your Covid testings at CVS & Walgreens, and, NOT NEEDLESSLY WAIT 2 HOURS like my daughter did last week, and we experienced a few days ago! Unacceptable! We were NOT waiting for rapid results ether!!! It was the 1-2 day results-back-test! So why the hell were we waiting there so long?! We needed testing for my daughter's abroad trip & *thought* this place would be more "official" and "professional"...NO!!! CVS was hands down better, faster, more efficient, no wait, and you get results much faster AND on your cell for convenience! Ugh...I shudder to think I almost paid the $250 for the out of pocket rapid PCR test (we were scared the regular results wouldn't come back in time). Don't do it here if youre considering it!! Go to the EASIER option! CVS! Also, CVS regular PCR came back next day...got the ones from here back on the 3rd day!!!! DON'T go here for Covid testing!!!!! read more

I had - good experience here once but my husband went here for a refill on two of his BP meds while we looked for a new PCP (we are new in town) the "doctor" Margaret Lynch was alarmed at his BP (duh, he ran out of meds 4 days prior because he was sick with stomach flu and couldn't get to the doctor earlier) She told him it was "irresponsible of her to give him a refill on his meds" no, it's irresponsible and borderline unethical to charge someone for your service and then not provide it. she eventually gave only about 2 weeks and told him to find a PCP. We did find an internist for him but there was a wait list, so my husband will be without blood pressure medication for a week because this healthcare professional couldn't give a rats ass about her patients. We will NOT be back. Pathetic!! read more

Dr Mass and his team were amazing!! I came in with severe tonsillitis after going to another doctor and them telling me it wasn't strep so I should take aleve. I couldn't even swallow the pain was so bad. Dr Mass and his team checked me out and right away hooked me up to an IV with antibiotics and pain meds and fluids. I feel a million times better today than yesterday thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Lake Forest Acute Care!! read more

Horrible service, wouldn't see me for hours because they asked for a negative test I had COVID 3 weeks ago and I tested negative 3 days ago. Won't accept at home negative tests and tried to make a kid who's hair was falling out and lost 7 pounds in a day wait 2 hours to get a negative covid test just to be seen for an issue completely unrelated to covid. Horrible service then told me they only covid test they would accept as negative was from their office. Abuse of power. read more

Nice and clean place, they have friendly front desk receptionist. I was in and out less than an hour. I was the only patient there, so it was a very quick visit. Nurse didn't have a name tag and didn't tell me her name so I don't know her name. Nurse brought me in the exam room, she asked me what happened as she was reading my concerns for my visit: R arm pain and numbness I wrote. I told her I had pain in my right side neck and right arm. She took the blood pressure in my right arm and told me my blood pressure was high and asked me if I was on any medication. I told the nurse that i wasn't on any medication but told her I had pain in my right arm and probably taking blood pressure on my right arm caused my blood pressure to go up. She didn't re-check my blood pressure in my other arm and left the room. I was seen by a female doctor. She examined me. I told her I was in a car accident. then she told me my right side neck pain and arm pain could be from the seat belt. I told her I was the driver and the seat belt was on my left side across the body clips to R side bottom. then she said the seat belt would be on my right side of the neck/shoulder. when i explained again, then she tells me in her car, seat belt is on her right side. I told her that in my car and usually other cars have seat belt on the left side. anyhow, she examined me. then there was a balance exam where she was pulling me, and i couldn't stand still, i don't know why, i tried, but she said "you didn't want to do it." i told her, i tried. After exam, doc told me the dx and called in for the medication to outside pharmacy for me which was nice. Over all experience, I was in and out within an hour, I was seen and was evaluated. Would I go back to this clinic again? I probably would for anything urgent if I can't get an appointment with my provider like today. If anyone is looking for a warm fuzzy place, I don't think this is a place. If anyone is looking to seek quick medical treatment, I suggest to go to this place, it's better than sitting at home, worring about illness. read more

1/2 star. We arrived on a Sunday at 5:30 and they closed at 6. Doctor was extremely rude. Said if couldn't urinate in 5 minutes we'd have to go to ER as he couldn't keep the staff there. When in the exam room we asked a question and he basically told us to be quiet and let him finish talking. Very, very rude. The sad thing is that we had to leave for ER and will get charged by them as they took a urine sample and then wouldn't give it to us to take to the hospital. Said they wouldn't use it. Also told us he told us he would call ahead to Lake Forest Hospital but we are here and there is no record of it. read more

This was probably my 4th or 5th visit here and I am never disappointed. The wait to be seen was only about 10-15 minutes. Everyone, receptionist, medical technician, nurse and physician was wonderful. They were compassionate , professional, and thorough. I was dreading going to an urgent care facility but it was Sunday and I was in a lot of pain. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Mass and his staff! The front desk staff was so welcoming, friendly and efficient. I waited probably 5 minutes before Elana, the nurse, brought me into an exam room. She listened carefully, asked me follow-up questions and was very caring and nice. Dr. Mass came in in less than 10 minutes and I was so impressed with how much time he took listening to me, explaining what was going on with my issue, what he was going to do to help resolve the problem, and made sure I understood what I needed to do for my home care and any follow up. The whole staff felt so very caring. I would not hesitate to come here if I needed urgent care or to recommend Dr. Mass and his staff. read more

No better place to go when you are sick or have an acute/urgent health issue. Staff and doctors are knowledgeable and accommodating. We have been there 4 times for various issues - bronchitis, ear infections etc and each time there has been minimal wait time (as opposed to ER where we have waited for hours and CVS Minute Clinic where we have been turned away twice b/c it was getting close to closing time). Excellent care and follow up. We will happily drive across town to see Dr. Mass and Staff rather than go the 3 blocks to CVS. Lake Forest Acute Care is a huge upgrade for Lake Forest and surrounding area. read more

This place is great!! We have 4 daughter's and have been here multiple times for various things. They are quick, friendly and efficient.

Two stars only because they've gotten my sister in quickly and efficiently, and the facility is clean and nice. Doctor "diagnosed" my sister with Eustachian tube dysfunction. Big whoop. But did nothing to treat the underlying cause. Had her chew gum and take mucinex to try and pop her ear. Trying to pop it isn't unusual but she went back today because her ear still hasn't popped (it's retracted) and she also has a fever. The doctor spent all his time on the dog nip on her lip that's "infected", prescribed her antibiotics without asking what she can take, didn't bother to read her chart, and spend little time on her ear besides saying it "looked fine". Yeah it looked fine it's not possible fluid that's the issue here, it's that there's pressure inside her ear canal. Didn't bother to prescribe her a steroid nose spray or any antihistamine, so we're going to make an appointment at a GP tomorrow, most likely. I'll take an advocate clinic over this one any day. Edit: Just tried to contact them on their website and it won't work, big surprise. read more

Our daughter is in her first year at Lake Forest College and has been feeling ill enough that she missed school and tests. We are in another state, so we talked her through how to get an Uber to drive her to this urgent care center to be seen, letting her know that the doctors there would know what to do and would provide help. Never having been away from home while sick, we asked her to call her dad on the phone when she was in with the doctor so we could provide information that she was feeling too ill to talk about. My husband AND my daughter were struck at how RUDE Dr. Mass was to her and how clearly IRRITATED he was AT HER for asking to have her dad on speaker phone. I get that we want our kid to grow up, but she's 4 months into turning 18 and has never been living away from home. Dr. Mass told our daughter that she didn't need her dad to help her anymore now that she's 18. If this is the type of doctor / bedside manner you want in a doctor, go for it.
