You would like to supervise and watch your child learn how to paint. But the rule for a group party if you're not painting you aren't allowed in the back. They consider that "spectators" not allowed. So your invite to a birthday party you would have to leave your child to paint by themselves or paint with them. You can't just watch. For a kids birthday party you shouldn't have to leave minor kids ages 7 alone due to some policy they have. I felt like the way the instructor came about this wasn't so considerate. Just put a bad taste in my mouth to not ever have a birthday party booked here. During the booking the place could have notified the person booking and let them be aware of the policy is before having a kids party. We all could have been aware warned when we first walked in.

DO NOT bring your children here, or yourself…read more The staff and owners are VERY rude. I brought my daughter and her friends here for her birthday and none of the girls could talk during the three hour class, or they were blamed for not listening. I called three times prior to the class to check in on a couple of details for the class, and no one ever called me back Three times! Unprofessional. As I am spending $65/person x 5 people! They advertise as a cooking class, but each kid gets one minimal task as they go around in a semi-circle and wait for their turn again. While they wait, they have nothing to do but stand there for hours, not talking. They can't even talk to each other or else they get in trouble by the instructors. Why are they not cooking and being instructed?! (As advertised). The building is in an unsafe area. Upon arrival (10 minutes before class time started), the door was locked. Based on the feeling that there was NO WAY I was leaving my children and their friends here. The staff said I could stay, however the owner of Curious Kitchen saw through a camera that I was sitting in the room and asked me to leave. Why is she unknowingly watching the children? They would not let me stay in the same room as the children, but instead I had to sit in the next room for three hours waiting. Why not let a paying customer be in the same room as their kids? Why lock the children into the building? Isn't this against fire code? When I called the owner to ask if I could stay in the room , a huge argument arose. Both of the co-owners, mother and daughter are absolutely horrific. Horrible attitudes. Defensive. Rude. I am shocked that they are still in business. The food was poor quality and tasteless. How do you mess up pigs in a blanket? The potato wedges were cold. DO NOT SPREAD YOUR MONEY HERE!!!! - - - - - - RESPONSE TO THE OWNERS RESPONSE- - - - - -- - I would hope that you take your feedback seriously. I also can not believe that you are still in business with the way you treat your customers. You are claiming that the things I noted about my experience visiting your business are false...they are nothing but TRUTH. Let me be clear, I spoke with BOTH of the co-owner's yesterday - the mother and and daughter yesterday. I was on the speaker phone with the woman that you called a .....and I quote "RACIST" because of the safety issues she experienced outside of your business yesterday. Not only that, you hung up on her. Neither of you stopped talking long enough to let us, the paying customers speak about our negative experiences. We were both having these negative experiences at the same time, which validated both of our feelings. Let me also be clear that I called THREE times before I visited your establishment. I never received even one call back dialing the number that is clearly listed on your web page (615-956-6077). My husband heard me leave all 3 messages and each one was left after a message stating it was the Curious Kitchen. Thus, another validation that I was calling the correct place. I wanted to gather information on a private event - 10th birthday for my daughter. Boy, am I glad I never got ahold of either of you and spent more money than I already have! Regarding the "safety", or lack thereof. Why would I want to do a cooking class for myself or my children that requires for everyone to be locked in because the neighborhood is so unsafe? Also - you skirted around the fact that IT IS AGAINST FIRE CODE TO LOCK CHILDREN INSIDE OF A BUILDING. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE COOKING AND HOT OVENS AND FIRE ARE INVOLVED. In regards to the food - you do not provide QUALITY INGREDIENTS. I can bake food in my kitchen that is much better quality. So for you to blame it on the kids since they prepared the food - it's disgraceful. And no - the potato wedge wasn't cold "because parents are invited in after the children have already eaten." I was there before they even got their food because I never left and pushed into the next room. Thus, I was there the entire last 30 minutes of class. Nice try though! AGAIN - DO NOT ATTEND ANY CLASS HERE. THIS PEOPLE SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS.

I enrolled my daughter in ballet, tap, and jazz. I was quite pleased with the prices as I had paid a lot more for classes when we lived in Texas. The classes were very structured yet fun for the girls. The instructors were top notch and very patient with young students. The girls were taught fundamentals for the first few months and then started working on recital pieces in January. The DA dance recital was today and I have to applaud the staff for a job well done. I'm specifically speaking of the talent we saw in the older girls. I was blown away and now am eager for my daughter to continue. I do have a couple of minor complaints, but that won't change my 5 star rating. The lobby is entirely too small and only holds about a dozen chairs for parents. When arriving for your class, you had to deal with crowds with parents from the earlier class. A lot of times I ended up leaving while my daughter was in class and either went shopping or sat in my car. In addition, I did not feel safe in the parking areas. In the beginning, my daughter took Tuesday evening classes that would end after dark. The residential areas around DA are low income looking and the people would come out after dark like cockroaches would in South Texas. There's a little grocery store close by that residents would walk to. A few times I was wrangling 2 kids outside and the cockroaches were entirely too close to my vehicle and made comments about how nice my car was or something that scared the crap out of me. Needless to say, we switched to Saturday morning classes and I never had any issues. Again, I would definitely recommend Dance Academy. You will not be disappointed!

First off, this is the second time they cancelled due to an emergency, with no rescheduled date. But when I arrived ( I also had services booked for that day) the financial aid lady was there, and looks like there were tours happening. Weird. The student who did my nails and the nail instructor were adamant that I would have to stay on financial aids ass in order to get enrolled in classes. I will not be chasing anyone to enroll, I will just take my business elsewhere. So on to my services, I want to start by saying that I completely understand that these are students who are learning and mastering their craft. HOWEVER, if the student is a senior and they are doing subpar (and that's being nice) work at best, they should not be taking on clients. The instructor was no where to be found until it was time to sign off of the students paperwork. The instructor didn't even take the time to look over to students work. The student was nice enough, but I'm not sure being a nail tech is her passion. There is no way that could be proud of the work she did on my nails. The before picture was embarrassing and I couldn't bring myself to post. The pic is after I came home and tried to file and fix my nails a bit. YIKKKKEEES!!
