08/08/2025 15:15:04 The cashier asked me how much the dragon fruit cost. I said the sign outside said 0.99 per pound. When I got home and looked at the receipt, I realized the cashier charged 2.49 per pound. This is a dishonest cashier, shoppers, please be careful. Her employee number is 101.

Best asian grocery in Queens, I've been going here for 10 years and all the items/produce are fresh and clean! Always busy and no social distancing. Location: It is located few blocks from Elmhurst Hospital, the grocery is huge. Parking is huge as well but always full because a lot of people go here. Inside is quite organized, from the vegetable part to the meat and fish section. Service: I mean they all quite okay. No interaction mostly. Food: what I like about here is the freshness of the produce, they have live crabs and fish! The meat section is always pack with unique meats like pork tongue, blood etc. The vegetable section is organized and the veggies are always fresh. They also have a section for delicacies from other countries like Thai or Filipino which I love! The fruit section are outside, it is a hit or miss cause sometime the fruits are sour. Price rating: 5/10, it is cheap here. That is why I go here even it is far from me. Always pack! But you will come here because the food is fresh and clean.

An Asian supermarket in Elmhurst, Queens which my family have patronize numerous times. It is located within walking distance from NYC Health + Hospitals Elmhurst. This is supermarket is gargantuan as there are abundant Asian brand names to choose. I patronized US Supermarket at the worst time of the year - pre-Lunar New Year 2021 because this date the weather was fair to middling and was not very cold but manageable. It was also the final weekend before Lunar New Year and like all Asians we scrambled to purchase all the essentials foods and items, ergo, the madness of hustle and shove/push and standing or walking back-to-back where six feet social distancing COVID-19 compliance was impossible. Busy - utter chaos = disorganized and uncivilized!! It was extreme utter madness busy that all the store's push shopping carts and handheld shopping baskets were 93% usage occupied. I suggest to locate a shopping basket when a customer relinquish one at checkout and then do not let go like a Golden Goose! Augh!! Wrong timing of pre-Lunar New Year to go Asian grocery shopping. This business do not control the capacity of customers entry/exit for crowd control prevention stampede hazard nor COVID-19 compliance six feet social distancing. Nevertheless, customers and staff did exercise the usage of wearing face mask. There is a substantial size quality fish market within this supermarket where there are seven (7) active fishmonger workers who scale, gut and fillet working methodically and robotically with sharp knives and cleaver knives in face masks, worker's gloves, and worker's aprons. This supermarket carries my fish likings: tilapia, red snapper, and salmon. They also carry stripped bass, and varies bighead carp, black carp, silver carp and grass carp fishes of gargantuan sizes. I did not see any swordfish available. A whole fish (including the head, eyes, mouth and tail of the whole shebang) is imperative to have during Lunar New Year celebration in Chinese culture and US Supermarket heed this mandatory cultural tradition. Customer service is literally nonexistent and visibly appear dispirited and despondent. Price is reasonable. Cashiers are robotic and efficient to keep the line moderately moving who speak Mandarin and Fukinese but, sadly, not Cantonese and very rudimentary English skills. I do not understand the business name "US Supermarket" origin or meaning, err on the side of question? There is a free parking lot available on site which can easily be full to capacity as there were cars who double and even triple parked blocking pedestrians' method of egress. This Asian supermarket is located adjacent to the Q53 bus stop for public transportation assessible.

Don't even think about park here, unless u want ur car to be towed away or get 136 fine tickets

Nasty manager. Has severe attitude issues. My item got stolen from register and he was yelling at me saying I am supposed to keep an eye on my stuff. It was on the register and he doesn't wanna understand. He was literally screaming even after he checked the camera. He is just nasty. He shouldn't be even working there cause definitely he doesn't know how to treat or handle customers. I am attaching the manager pic with comment

New name for the old NY Supermarket is US Supermarket! But... the Chinese name is "New Dragon Supermarket." But... the shopping carts say "Great Wall Supermarket." Confused yet? The first week of grand opening had great prices on many items but now the dust settled and prices are about the same as the other 1/2 dozen Asian markets in the general area. Gone is the bakery, dim sum & snack area. Gone is the Sushi booth. The fruit & vegetable section is still small compared to other places. The fish & meat area is just ok. Watch out for the slippery tile floors in front of the fish area. New is the tacky & cheesy "chrome double dragon" decoration at the veggie area. Overall: it is just another player in the Asian Supermarket; it is just not at the top of my choice.

I really love this supermarket. This is one of the best fresh Asian market I have come across. If I'm not in china town in Manhattan I'm out here. They have your basic Asian condiments plus more.

Avoid this supermarket if you buy more than one piece of stuff, you never can find a parking space near the market.

I particularly can only get Filipino groceries at an actual Filipino grocery like Phil Am, for instance, in Woodside.

We decided to stop by since we wanted to give something around here a try…read more We came in & were seated right away, drinks Passion fruit & Mango shakes w milk instead of water, very good but a bit filling. Chorizo for appetizer great tasting but u may not need it they start u off w some warm bread & cheese, salami app very good depending on how hungry u are I'd say u can skip the appetizer. Main dishes Milanesa à la napolitana this was good, way too many onions but good comes with rice & beans. I had the Pechuga de pollo la provenzal, yumm this was delicious the sauce is so tasty, I got it w tostones great since dipping into the sauce. Next time, Ice tea & Sprite for drinks not bad, no apps since they start u off w that bread. I had the Meat special #4 , This comes with 2 pieces of steak & chorizo , got it w tostones the meat was very flavorful, cooked just right , comes w a chimichurri sauce so good. We also had the Pollo Provenzal again, man that sauce is amazing got it w fried yuca, it was very good. This place is a one stop shop, butcher style Meats for sale, some Argentinian desserts, candy & merchandise they seem to have a little bit of everything. Good size location, decent decor & service. Prices are seasonable since they do give u a good portion size. Good neighborhood spot, this place was a good find & chances are we will continue to visit from time to time.

After more than 25 years of being customers and spending hundreds of dollars per visit, we were…read moreessentially told we had stayed too long after finishing our meal. That was enough for us to decide we will not be returning. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 25 years. The food has generally been good, which is why my family continued returning and recommending it to others. Our history with the restaurant has not been without issues. Years ago, we stopped coming after a Mother's Day incident involving my grandmother. We had been seated in the upstairs dining room (when it was still open), only to later be told by the owner that we did not have a reservation and that we had to leave. After several years, we decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and eventually started coming back again. Unfortunately, today confirmed that the earlier incident was not simply bad luck. I was dining with my parents. We ordered two steaks, two appetizers, three sides, a bottle of wine and later a second bottle (of which we only drank half), along with four after-dinner drinks, cappuccino, and dessert. It was clearly a very busy day, and service was slower than usual. Because of the restaurant's pace, our meal ended up lasting a little over three hours. We were patient the entire time and never complained. After we finished eating and were simply finishing our drinks, the owner, Marcelo, approached our table and remarked that we had been there for three hours and were now only drinking alcohol, indirectly suggesting that his establishment was not a bar but a place for dining. Considering that we had just spent several hundred dollars and have been customers for decades, the comment was unnecessary and unprofessional. We immediately asked for the check and left. For context, I am a physician and understand the pressures of demanding work environments. However, professionalism and respect toward customers should always come first. Over the years, my family has typically spent between $300 and $500 per visit here. Unfortunately, after this experience, this will be the last time we come. There are many excellent Argentinian and Uruguayan steakhouses where customers are treated with appreciation and respect, and that is where we will be going moving forward.
