T-bone from the Risaralda butcher shop in Queens, after being grilled on my Webber grill.
    Luis A.

I grew up in Jackson Heights and my mom use to send me here all the time. I bought a house a few years ago and moved out to Long Island. Ever since I bought the house I found myself entertaining and having barbecues in my back yard. I needed to find a good inexpensive butcher shop to purchase my meats for said occasions. One thing I love to put on the grill are T-bone steaks. In most supermarkets T-bones are expensive and so I decided to visit this old neighborhood butcher shop. Let me tell you, what a bargain! At $6.50 a pound for T-bone, you can't beat that. I visited another butcher shop just to compare, and the other shop was quoting me $14 a pound. Needless to say I stuck to this butcher shop. I have to say my 1 inch thick cuts of T-bone come out great. For the past couple of summers, whenever I'm going to barbecue, I find myself driving to queens to visit this place. I gave it three stars because parking is terrible. I find myself driving around the block a few times before I find a spot. Service is okay. But you can't beat the prices.

This is the UNDERSIDE of the COOKED chicken and look at all the fat.

I praise the high quality of the authentic grilled meats, specifically the skirt steak (entraña), short ribs (tira de asado), and mixed grill platters (parrilladas). The baked or fried empanadas (beef and chicken) and fresh, herbaceous chimichurri sauce are also local favorites. The front operates as a cozy, casual, and family-friendly dining room, while the back features an authentic butcher counter where locals stock up on raw cuts and homemade chorizo. Service is described as warm, attentive, and deeply personal, with many servers having built long-term rapport with regular diners over decades. Main meat dishes and platters range typically between $30 to $60 per person depending on drinks and sides, offering solid value for high-grade Argentine beef.

We decided to stop by since we wanted to give something around here a try…read more We came in & were seated right away, drinks Passion fruit & Mango shakes w milk instead of water, very good but a bit filling. Chorizo for appetizer great tasting but u may not need it they start u off w some warm bread & cheese, salami app very good depending on how hungry u are I'd say u can skip the appetizer. Main dishes Milanesa à la napolitana this was good, way too many onions but good comes with rice & beans. I had the Pechuga de pollo la provenzal, yumm this was delicious the sauce is so tasty, I got it w tostones great since dipping into the sauce. Next time, Ice tea & Sprite for drinks not bad, no apps since they start u off w that bread. I had the Meat special #4 , This comes with 2 pieces of steak & chorizo , got it w tostones the meat was very flavorful, cooked just right , comes w a chimichurri sauce so good. We also had the Pollo Provenzal again, man that sauce is amazing got it w fried yuca, it was very good. This place is a one stop shop, butcher style Meats for sale, some Argentinian desserts, candy & merchandise they seem to have a little bit of everything. Good size location, decent decor & service. Prices are seasonable since they do give u a good portion size. Good neighborhood spot, this place was a good find & chances are we will continue to visit from time to time.
