We were doing some shopping in the Lake Mary area and decided to try the Monroe office since it was on our way. The building is a decent size; however, the reception area where you weigh packages and pay the USPS staff members is very small; only enough room for two to three customers max. A bit weird but it got the job done. Fortunately for us when we are arrived we were the only customers here. Shortly after our arrival, about four more customers came in but had to lineup in the foyer just outside the doorway/entrance to the reception. My mom had two ship two packages to NY. I don't remember the exact weight of the boxes but it cost around $60. A bit pricey, but still cheaper than adding an additional piece of luggage to her flight home. Staff here were very pleasant and we were in and out and no time. Overall the store is clean, organized, and is a great alternative when the downtown Sanford post office is in the weeds.

I've had multiple prior instances where tracked packages handled by this location were never sent, as the tracking showed it never left the facility. Mail theft is a federal offense, and I hope this matter is taken seriously and investigated.

NOT ONE, and I've had several notices that mail was delivered to the old address in DeBary. I lived there for 3 years and received mail for not 1 past resident but up to 7 past residents. The red brick Classical Revival building was built in 1917 by Algernon Blair of Montgomery. James Wetmore served as the supervising architect. The building is typical of government buildings of the time and it is trimmed in Georgia sandstone and white sandstone pillars. The original exterior is still intact. After a new post office was built two blocks away in 1962 it became the city library and in 1975 part of the Seminole County library system. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. I love the architecture of this building and today it is looking better than ever as the Sanford Welcome Center. Their mission is to provide education and information as they market Sanford as "an arts, culture, recreation, and historic destination." I popped in during my visit to town and was warmly greeted by Rosie. I had a great chat with her. Inside the welcome center you will find public restrooms, cheap snacks and drinks, attraction brochures, maps, and places to stay and dining recommendations. The Chamber of Commerce has an office. Most of the time they have an art gallery in the back containing art from local residence. There's always someone there to help you if you need to get advice of where to eat or things to do. They also have bathrooms and a small place to sit if you want to rest and get out of the heat and check out the Sanford newspaper. I come here at least once a week there is always something different to see each week. Walking distance to many restaurants, shops and the beautiful Lake Monroe lakefront.

Some things I did notice while there was that all of their packages for sale were clearly labeled and organized compared to my old post office an improvement. The location is smallest post office I have seen ever. They still manage it pretty well. Great job guys! Only reason I am giving this a 4 star is because of the traffic signs and directional signs in the parking lot are faded. Also no stop bars at any of the stop sign area because they are faded as well. This is a post office and I hope they repair or replace it for appearance purposes. Traffic safety for the public is important for us all.

They do have a mailbox outside if you just want to drop off a letter real fast. For this particular service, I haven't had any issues with the staff and they have always been friendly and quick to assist me in this process. I usually ask for a return receipt and they comply promptly. This is a small store so they might be limited on services or some items usually found at larger UPS stores, but all in all, they do a good job and I haven't had any problems yet.
