Here in there, traffic will occur. In my experience, going eastward, the stop light at 9G can be backed up. It moves along pretty well, causing no concerns. The electronic tolling definitely brings speed, which is a huge plus. For great travel convenience, this is the bridge to take.

Though officially the Kingston-Rhinecliff bridge, it is actually named after George Clinton, New York's first Governor, fourth Vice President of the United States and a resident of the Hudson Valley. It's a place you can get up close to the past, but also a peaceful spot to view the river and furnace locks, I especially recommend being here in autumn, watching sycamore leaves float down the river. Parking by the furnace isn't huge, but additional parking is just over the small bridge. There is plenty of interpretive signage to guide you, and ample picnic space to enjoy, but no facilities. We didn't even see a port-o-let. All the same, enjoy your drive and short hike!

IIt's mainly of interest if you're interested in the history of the area, but something you could combine with visiting nearby Haystack Mountain Park. Still, it's well maintained and has a nice parking area, with a number of highly informative signs around the area, leading you on a short walk from the furnace over to the dam where the piping for the steam turbine is still somewhat in place. There's a few picnic tables as well, if you're in the mood for a picnic. Altogether a nice little pleasant stop on the road.

I wrote a note describing the problems to the cleaner company which is at 298 White Street in Danbury, but each time I went back to check the status at L&G, I got dismissive and rude excuses. I even spoke to her husband Jose about this on his phone 203 448 8117. He was polite but no payment was ever given to me. I eventually went to the cleaners in Danbury and talked to the owner Celio there. He said he had compensated L&G for the sweater. Still, I have received no compensation. no payment for my loss. Wow, what a monument. This structure is located in front of Castle Church in Canaan, and is to…read morehonor those Canaan has lost in military conflict. The main piece is a soldier standing above a pyramid of sorts, each side below containing a plaque and a small bench. Facing the brewery below is a plaque for those in WWI, then moving counter clockwise those who were in the Civil War, and finally a nod to the War of 1812. Behind the primary piece is a wall honoring those in more recent conflicts, including WWII, the Persian Gulf, Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon, and Panama. It's a very somber moment when you take in how many lives were impacted in a small Connecticut town, but also beautiful in its design and imposing stature.

This is a very cute post office located a bit off the main street of Bantam, CT. I'm not sure how…read morelong it's been here, but is located in the building I think may be the old town hall. Parking is ample, plus they have several spots for 10 minute parking right in front of the door. There is a drive up mailbox for drop offs (all post offices should have a drive up mailbox....), and a nice postal store inside for stamps and boxes. The interior looks older, how I remember post offices in the 1980s, but also has several cool displays in Bantam's past. I had no idea they were at risk of being called "Rogersvilles" but why.... and why?!? I want to know more. There is also a take a book, leave a book basket inside the lobby.
