This is the absolute worst Government office I've ever had to deal with in my life. The worst. We moved into our quite, secluded home approximately 3 months ago. In that time, even though they've been asked not to, the Post Office has continued to use our circular drive as their own person short cut to the neighbors mailbox. Not only are they cutting through the middle of our property, they are doing it at high rates of speed. Each and every time we've called to Post Office to report this, we end up with mail delivery and pick up issues. The previous owner had asked them to please stop using her driveway as a short cut, but our carrier told us "We just kept doing it anyway." Yes, you read that right. We were told, in not so many words, "We're the government, we'll do what we want". Luckily, we get most of our bills electronically, so I don't have to worry about not receiving them and having our power shut off. However, I do send out many packages and the Post Office is now refusing to pick up at my house because there's "no safe place for them to turn around". Not only have we expressed numerous times that driving through our property to pick up and deliver mail is NOT an issue and we would NEVER expect someone to turn around or back up when they could just continue on, but we also have a huge alcove that allows turning around of vehicles much larger than the standard mail delivery truck. With that said, what we DO have issue with is our driveway being used as a public road or private race track. We have pets and children that we are afraid to let out to play in the only flat area they have to play in. They Post Office has twisted every conversation we've had with them. Coming up with many different versions of "you told us we aren't allowed on your property because it's private". This is a flat out lie. At they end of one our many conversations, the Post Master actually told us he would "pray with our carrier for solution". Yes, you read that right, too. So, unless we allow the Federal Government carte blanche to our property, we don't get the benefit of mail delivery that we pay for. Like, reviewer Amy S. We were told they would leave and pick up packages at our mailbox only, which is far from our home and in no way secure or protected from the elements. This is not an acceptable resolution. The Post Master needs to go and someone put in his place that will fulfill their duties to the American public. read more

Mail carriers are meh - we keep getting the neighbors mail and vice versa - but the folks inside the post office are great. They are friendly and very helpful - the 3 stars are for them. read more

The Waynesville post office lost so many pieces of mail since I moved here 4 1/2 years ago. In my previous 60 years of living in the north I have never had mail lost. What does this say about the Waynesville office! read more

I have a lot of problems from this branch. They mark your packages as delivered when they're not delivered and feel like they were going to steal my packages because some mail was in my mailbox but the big packages weren't outside. I don't like the way this office is run and the postmaster is hard to reach. read more

We have had NOTHING but problems here, with absolute ZERO attention to detail. Package delivery seems to be such a weak point for this location. So, if you're expecting a package expect it to be completely destroyed or not delivered at all. Disgusted to say the least. I hate even having to leave one star! Finally, justice is about to be, um, delivered. Just like you, dear reader, I am hesitant to report complaints directly to this system, as I do not want my bills to land in the dead letter office. Now, if they do somehow catch wind of me, I have proof henceforth of this dated review. Please allow me to present the evidence: -My mom called to inquire about her forwarded mail. She was handed over to the manager. He was very rude. Possibly the fear of another papercut was affecting him. -A package never arrived. I had a proof of delivery from sender. When my husband requested "Form 1000" to possibly find package, they had no idea what that form was. -A carrier actually asked via note for due postage from a letter that was sent to me. Me, people, me. What did I have to do with it?! Dear mail-lady: Next time, write to the sender, not the receiver. Sheesh! Yeah, I paid. Pity. -Carriers speed down quiet, country lanes while semi-blasting "Today's Hits" and/or "Today's Gossip" while on their cell phones. So glad we do not have these things called sidewalks here, anyway. This decreases my chance of locomoting and possibly getting clipped while hearing strains of local news backed by mild guitar riffs. -Packages have been left twice hanging on my across-the-street mailbox via trashbags at least twice. Um, if bored teenagers have time to smash that sucker, wouldn't ya think that maybe someone has time to steal my packages? Carriers: Do what you get paid for and leave it at my door. Please. -I once left a note to mailbox-smashers (see fifth point above). A mail carrier seemed perturbed by this. I am perturbed by intoxicated males, so leave the therapy to me. -Some carriers rush so much that they do not close the mailbox properly, resulting in mail that has been transformed into papier-mâché. -I have lived here eight years now. For the past two summers, a carrier has complained that the flora by the across-the-street mailbox is damaging her car. She leaves a note. The first year that I inspected it and cleared it it was not even a mini-jungle. The weeds could touch her car, yes, but damage it? She has clear, safe passage defined by postal laws. Plus, the land is not even owned by me. Technically, because of that, do I possibly not have to landscape around the box? Technically, because the post office owns the box, should they send out their landscaper? We will never know, because we try to keep the peace by performing this task that is not compensated for by the local government. Hey, the second year I just cut the basics, did not get poison ivy like I did the first year, and imagined sending them a bill for slight pain and suffering. Oh, I forgot to mention the fact that I have a six-inch space to work in with zooming cars at my back. Add some emotional fees to that said bill: "Please, I do not want to die today because someone purchased a car that was not suited to their profession but instead suited to their lifestyle." I am not kidding- I know that complaining empowers some, but is it really worth it? I mean, I know that I am ironically complaining now, but no one is going to possibly get directly, physically harmed by this review. Sorry for going postal. I was in the other day and I could hear someone screaming at people, literally yelling orders. The clerk was obviously nervous. She was polite but acted like I was a big inconvenience. I couldn't see her name plate, except for a "T". Another postal worker came to the front and made the statement the Post Master was at it again. I thought it was just a bad day--then a few days later I returned and heard yelling again. This time the clerk was a male and he said the Post Master was having a bad day! No wonder they go POSTAL--someone should put a stop to this woman! I will be going somewhere else to get my stamps! read more
