This is the absolute worst Government office I've ever had to deal with in my life. The worst…read more We moved into our quite, secluded home approximately 3 months ago. In that time, even though they've been asked not to, the Post Office has continued to use our circular drive as their own person short cut to the neighbors mailbox. Not only are they cutting through the middle of our property, they are doing it at high rates of speed. Each and every time we've called to Post Office to report this, we end up with mail delivery and pick up issues. The previous owner had asked them to please stop using her driveway as a short cut, but our carrier told us "We just kept doing it anyway." Yes, you read that right. We were told, in not so many words, "We're the government, we'll do what we want". Luckily, we get most of our bills electronically, so I don't have to worry about not receiving them and having our power shut off. However, I do send out many packages and the Post Office is now refusing to pick up at my house because there's "no safe place for them to turn around". Not only have we expressed numerous times that driving through our property to pick up and deliver mail is NOT an issue and we would NEVER expect someone to turn around or back up when they could just continue on, but we also have a huge alcove that allows turning around of vehicles much larger than the standard mail delivery truck. With that said, what we DO have issue with is our driveway being used as a public road or private race track. We have pets and children that we are afraid to let out to play in the only flat area they have to play in. They Post Office has twisted every conversation we've had with them. Coming up with many different versions of "you told us we aren't allowed on your property because it's private". This is a flat out lie. At they end of one our many conversations, the Post Master actually told us he would "pray with our carrier for solution". Yes, you read that right, too. So, unless we allow the Federal Government carte blanche to our property, we don't get the benefit of mail delivery that we pay for. Like, reviewer Amy S. We were told they would leave and pick up packages at our mailbox only, which is far from our home and in no way secure or protected from the elements. This is not an acceptable resolution. The Post Master needs to go and someone put in his place that will fulfill their duties to the American public.

Mail carriers are meh - we keep getting the neighbors mail and vice versa - but the folks inside…read morethe post office are great. They are friendly and very helpful - the 3 stars are for them.

I am thoroughly disgusted with the Clyde post office. I purchase many items per month from Amazon…read more For years UPS delivered my packages to my door. I live on a mountain a mile up from my mailbox. For the safety of the delivery persons, I also have a large box below my mailbox that they can use when road conditions on the mountain are poor. On that box is my house number and a metal sign that reads 'Please Place Packages Inside Box'. The sign also has the emblems for 'Amazon, Walmart, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS'. So now USPS has become the delivery agent for Amazon in my area. And if a package won't fit in my 'mailbox' they ignore the large box below (won't get out of their vehicle) and return it to the Clyde post office. I look on Amazon and see they claim, 'it couldn't be delivered to my mailbox' and direct me to pick it up at the Clyde post office (20 miles away). Well, I don't drive and I'm a senior citizen. This morning I tried calling the Clyde post office. They don't answer. I just filed a formal complaint with Amazon. They assured me they will make sure I get my packages in the future (maybe UPS, I don't know yet). My next step is to file a formal complaint with the Postmaster General. As you can tell I'm furious.

Amazon shipped a package and it showed that it had been delivered into our mailbox. (The kind on a…read morepost, on a country road). It was not in the mailbox. Usually they bring packages to the house if too large to fit into the mailbox, then leave it on the front porch, which is fine. It was NOT in the mailbox, nor was it delivered to our house. I tried calling the, numerous times but they do not ever answer their phone. This is the WORST post office we have ever had to deal with! They just lied and said they delivered it!!

Five stars go out the US postoffice, and 5 extra stars to the nice guy that helped us. Wow, he…read moreknows wat service is all about. The US Postoffice should cherish this kind of employees. They make your business. We're on a roadtrip for 3 and somewhat weeks, visiting from The Netherlands. And of course, again, I bought too much Christmas ornaments. - Little note, on every trip I try to buy some local ornaments so when Christmas arrives I can look at a tree full of memories. - This time a Departement 56 Harley Davidsons motel. And that are not things to get in our already overweight luggage easily. So we considered sending it home. We first made inquiries at FedEx in Nashville because we walked by. Estimated costs: over $200. For that price I a can buy an extra suitcase and pay for extra luggage. So we looked further. In Gatlinburg we visited this post office learning that our package can be send to Europe for a little over $50, including our map and two travelguides we didn't need anymore. Huge difference. But that's not the only reason for the 5 star rating. The guy behind the counter is. He took all the time in the world helping us to fill in the forms, get the stuff boxed, and giving advice about some choices to made. In the mean time he helped several other local customers with quick questions without giving us the feeling he wasn't totally there for us. And in the post office hangs a painting depicting him and a little boy. Make sure to ask him about it. It has to do with 9/11 and I had trouble keeping my eyes dry. And no worries, he wasn't pushy, I asked him about the painting and that made him tell the story. And excuse any grammar and spelling mistakes. English is not my first language. And if that isn't bad enough, my Apple device keeps changing words into 'proper Dutch'. Yes, you've guessed right, my first language.
