No complaints on my end! I was able to park right up front in a 15 min zone. There were a handful of people in front of me, but the employee was efficient and the wait was short. I stopped in because I needed my stamps replenished. The employee happily pulled out a basket full of different types of stamps to choose from. I originally didn't care, a stamp is a stamp, but some of those options were amazing! I ended up with baby animals, because how can you not? Little bummed they didn't have a kiosk, but the line moved fast enough. read more

Everyone likes to complain about various government agencies but the Proctor USPS has been absolutely fantastic to us! We've had two situations requiring us to contact then (once they call me and different time I called them) and first... I can't believe they reached out to me! Second, time when I called them, they actually came to our home to remedy the issue. We have had several different mail carriers over the years, but everyone of them has gone above and beyond to help us. Hats off to the Proctor Post Office team as I've never had better service in my (very many) years! read more

Access is sometimes difficult because they don't bother to enforce the time limits posted in their parking area. The spaces are often completely full but when you go into the post office you might see just a few customers. The situation has worsened with the opening of the apartment building next door. read more

NIGHTMARE!!! PlEASE READ We live in Ruston area about a year and I never ever had any issues with USPS in my entire life. Our mailman who delivers mails from proctor location decides to hold our mails ILLEGALLY and NOT deliver. Remove our name from the mailbox and put vacant note out of a sudden (which they delivered our mails for us for about 8 months, and our names are registered in USPS website) and then he/she ripped our names and just left ripped name in the mailbox for us!!! Just awful people with no respect and dignity at all, whatsoever! I go to proctor location and speak with them and ask for manager, (this is 3rd time) lady who works there she goes back and comes back and then she goes "my manager is not here" or "my manager is on vacation" like what the heck?! Will your manager ever be available?! Because I want to know!!! We reported to hotline USPS and they do absolutely nothing!!! We have been grabbing our mails since day one. And why they still do this to us we still don't know. Our bills are delayed, everything is delayed, we can't even get hold OUR MAILS THAT COMES UNDER OUR NAMES!!! The people who work here seem unhappy about it. I have a PO Box here, and they regularly turn off the lights inside and out, to give the appearance of being closed early and they always only unlock one of the two front doors. It's just inconvenient. It's like they really, really don't want to have to deal with with customers! Oh, and sometimes you have to wait for a really long time at the door that is supposed to be especially for PO Box customers to pick up packages that are too big to fit in the box. I've been told I had to wait in the long line, when this express service is supposed to be included with paying for a PO Box here. Oh, and a third of the parking is now dedicated to post office employees. You can't always find parking now because of this. It's ridiculous. I only still use this post office because of its proximity to my neighborhood. read more

Kind of a bummer to see rising prices, smaller flat rate boxes, and tape is no longer included on flat rate boxes. Aside from government-set prices and options, this is an overall okay store with good employees. One, a mail carrier, pulled his own wallet out to pay for a stamp on a stampless Christmas card so it would be delivered on time. Heartwarming moment! Bring your own tape, even for priority mail packages. They no longer provide priority mail tape. read more

As far as I can tell, this is the closest post office to Ruston. I have tried on several occasions to find the other ones listed on the USPS website without luck. My sister mailed an "overnight letter" to me that contained important documents. She sent it from Tacoma, Washington to Long Island, New York. They said that now they are not even guaranteeing delivery next day! Whoa!! Since when is that downgrade? She paid the $27.95 and crossed her fingers. Sure enough, as I'm tracking the package the evening of the NEXT DAY, I see that it wasn't even put in a plane yet and is still in Tacoma!! What the hell?? I'll never, EVER send anything important with the USPS again!! Total Incompetence. How can anyone have faith in them if they charge the Next Day price but don't guarantee it? I'm really disappointed in this location. Whenever I go, they have such attitudes. What's upsetting me most though is that I'm currently in Washington state and needed to mail important documentation back home to my mother whom I live with. I made the mistake of not making a signature required so even though the mail was supposed to get there 2 days later by 6 p.m. my envelope said it was "delivered" not even half a day later at 9 in the morning when my mail back home doesn't even get delivered until the afternoon. My brother is home as well and nothing arrived. It's now 6 days later and I'm being thrown around in circles and they not only won't refund me because it says "delivered" but my mail is lost. No one can track where my mail is. I'm on the verge of tears because of how important this mail was. I'm so upset with them and myself for trusting them. read more

None of the workers there are wearing masks, as of 10/9/20. One worker wore a plastic face shield, and I saw a guy in back with a mask hanging from one ear. The worker at the counter said she'd been tested (once? When?) and it was negative, so she thinks she doesn't have COVID. She said it's "a personal choice" for workers and customers to wear a mask. Cool story, bro. It's a total fail on agreeing to live together in a society / understanding 8th-grade-level science. Avoid this office like the plague. read more

When one has the unfortunate experience to encounter the level of hostility espoused by employees at the University Place USPO, one can see how the USPS has earned such a bad reputation over the years and why "going postal" is part of our vernacular. In my particular case, it is worthy of calling out one individual in particular for his bad conduct and lack of customer service: Jim. Never have I ever encountered such a hostile employee and one quick to insult the customer or the customer's supposed lack of intelligence in asking of questions. Simple questions of Jim were met with hostility and retorts as to postal code, which technically upon review later were ironically incorrect. Jim clearly likes to espouse knowledge that he does not have. Not only was he discourteous to me in my questions as to postage and passport renewal but also discourteous to his fellow associates. You could see his associates cringe on either side of him and refuse to look up as he continued his "higher than thou" berating of customers. Regrettably, as is frequently the case, Jim's level of self-imposed superiority did not match his actual level of perceived intelligence. There are a lot of hard working and good people employed by the USPS. It is unfortunate that someone as volatile as this individual is allowed to retain not only his job but also a position at a counter waiting on customers. While there are limited options for mail service, if you have the ability to patronize any other location, try to do so. read more
