The clerks are very serious about credit cards--yours has to be signed or they won't take it. Kind of a pointless rule since you can sign it on the spot and suddenly it's valid. One clerk asked me for two forms of ID since my card wasn't signed--seriously? Is there that much credit card fraud at post offices? Oh well--no other choice here unless you want to go to the next town over!

(Yet the post office was established in 1797 and then moved to this building.) I love the majestic columns and the impressive facade. Not only is this post office beautiful, but it's efficient, has friendly service and impeccably pristine! It's well stocked with plenty of mailing supplies and has a greeting card kiosk. Passport service availability! I loved visiting this post office, it's what all other post offices should aspire to! Hours 8:30-5:00 M-F, 9:00-12:00 Saturday

You have to go into town in order to interchange from the PA Turnpike to southbound highway 70. It's criminal that they force you to exit and reenter the route, instead of having a normal interchange between the highways. The places in Breezewood where we've stopped are much less well-maintained than the turnpike stops, where standards are imposed on the businesses. We have had as much as an hour delay in what should be a 5 minute drive because of the poorly designed traffic flow. We now plan our route to avoid stopping and also to avoid times when traffic jams are likely. This town gives "highway robbery" meaning!

The assistance ranged from completely cheery and competent and kind and efficient, to surley, hiding behind made up rules bordering on confrantational, and frankly, somewhat provincial behavior. Could have been better. the first part of the interaction is why I root for USPS, the second half is why the public sometimes do not support them. It would have been so easy to have been nice. But I was alas not from Lamont; I think that mattered too much to them. They are not a LPS (lemont postal service), but a US postal service. Not that this will influence their evaluation, it might help you, and reminder to self, if you are trying to avoid the large, too busy but on point post office in State College, try the one in Boalsburg, where I've had better luck.

While traveling back home from Niagara Falls towards Massanutten on our summer vacation last year, I came across a directional sign saying "Turner's Covered Bridge" and I couldn't help myself. Situated about 1/2 mile off Hwy 31 along a dirt road, it was an easy detour to make since it didn't take us too far off course. BRIDGE FACTS Year Built: 1892 Builder: Unknown Length: 89 feet Also known as: Diehl's Bridge Truss type: Burr Arch Location: Raystown Branch of the Juniata river FINAL THOUGHTS I think all historic covered bridges are beautiful, but this one is probably one of my least favorites. Surprisingly, despite its wispy appearance, this bridge is actually still drivable. However, it is riddled with painted graffiti as well as names carved deep into the wood truss. This is one of a very few covered bridges that I would probably not recommend visiting. It's pretty beat up and decaying. Interestingly, there are approximately 14 covered bridges in Bedford County and almost all of them look like identical clones to Turner's Covered Bridge: http://www.pacoveredbridges.com/bedford-county/ SPECIAL NOTE - After reading my review, Turner sent me a message saying she loved how the bridge reminded her so much of herself: Resilient and wispy with deep invisible carvings (scars), but still standing! 2016/20
