What a wonderful little post office! I was so impressed when I walked in. It had so much old charm in the inside. The clerk at the counter was so pleasant and nice and happy to help me. This post office NEVER (and I mean never) has anyone behind the counter and they make their own signs saying no one is on duty or wait just so they can call their own shots. Sometimes the door is locked with a hamper collecting stuff outside!!! They have been wildly inconsistent with service and I'm frankly fed up. They truly don't care about you here they want you gone. read more

I love the old architecture of this post office. It has so much charm. The outside grounds are always clean and neatly kept. The inside is clean and spacious. There is always an abundance of cards, packing materials and other items you may need for shipping. There's always only one postmaster whenever I come in. They are always nice and always willing to answer any questions you may have. While standing in line, I could hear the other workers in the back conversation, and it definitely was not appropriate for the workplace. read more

This location has low stars, but that wasn't my experience at all. I did 15 min. street parking and was in and out very quickly with my two packages I had to ship. The teller was nice and we chatted about unusual postal addresses. I would much rather come here than the Shrewsbury location. I liked the interior, as well. It had an interesting look to it. This was always my go to Post Office, mostly because the customer service was great. But after today and the horrid woman behind the counter that Jess was full of meanness and snarkiness, I will never come to this Maplewood post office again. She couldn't clarify my mailing options and instead just continue to repeat herself over and over as if I was an idiot. read more

Just had one of the rudest experiences ever at this location--the place was empty. NO ONE in line. I seldom go here so am not overly familiar with the layout and "rules." I walked up to the window--again-NO one was in front of me-after about one minute, a female employee comes from around the corner and says, "I can't see you there--that's why the sign says to wait behind the rope. Like HE did...(she then points to a man who came in after me). Ummmm okay. I then proceed to explain I just need to hand over small prepaid mailer that wouldn't fit into the mail slot in the lobby--I was then scolded AGAIN because the window next to hers is where those are apparently left. Look-I get it-you probably deal with some rude people but you CHOSE a customer service job, lady. And you could have communicated those "rules" in a much gentler kinder manner. I am still processing this as it was literally just rudeness and horrible service from the minute I walked in the door. Someone could make a fortune doing Customer Service 101 training with the staff if they are anything like the disgruntled person who interacted with me today. read more

Some of the staff are old school unreasonable and dark-hearted. They wouldn't give me 2 inches of scotch tape to finish sealing my box. They wanted me to buy an over priced roll of tape rather then gift me 2 inches of tape Although I told them UPS and FedEx would give it to me..They told me they charge me by having higher prices. I went to the friendly post office in Clifton Heights and they chuckled at the grinches in Maplewood, generously giving me the little tape I needed. No extra charge. Happy Days. read more

I like this post office as much as you can probably like a post office. It's never very busy (I'm not sure if any of them are), and the ladies that work there are friendly. A plus is that I'm always surprised at how much it *doesn't* cost to mail a package. Compared to UPS or FedEx, I'm not sure how they compare, but I'm always pleasantly surprised. And, it's right behind Schlafly Bottleworks, so if you're thirsty, you can get your stamps, then go get a beer. Win win? read more

Ah, that's right. I don't like this place. Continues to be the worst post office. Zero F#€%$ given if you need help or write a rural address in a way unfamiliar to the attendant. No leeway here. Have everything ready the way they like or you'll get sent to the back of the line. Looking for the least expensive postage? Only one option given and it's up to you to suggest the alternatives. This is a pretty convenient location for me to visit. I wish they had better parking though. It took me a while to find something and then I ended up missing a turn and before I knew it I was taking a tour of Maplewood. When I did finally find a street spot I was able to walk in and since I had a lot of mail (sending out wedding invites) the girl behind the counter asked me to drop them in the slot on the wall. I would have much rather handed them to someone, but instead I was stuck putting a few invites through the slot on the wall. I could only fit a few at a time so I was there for a few minutes dropping them through, but whatever. I don't think there was anything about this location that stood out to me. In general, I have no problem with service. Parking is pretty limited, but not horrible. My latest issue is that I sent my boyfriend to get some stamps for Christmas cards. The clerk at the counter did not ask if he wanted any specific type. Of course, being a man, he did not notice. He came home with "Diwali" stamps. I had to Google that. It turns out to be a Hindu religious holiday. I now have to explain to my Christian family members that I have not converted to Hinduism. Merry Christmas everybody! Common courtesy at holiday time would be for clerks to ask for a preference. read more

Horrible. I called waited an hour on hold to speak to someone about my package, which I had missed the delivery window. After redirecting the package to the nearest post office I got down to this location to wait an additional 45 mins in the line because they omg have one person working the window. That's not even the worst part I finally get to the window and the tell me I won't be able to pick up the package till the next morning... Its already a week later what's one more day right, horrible service, plays games with your packages never using USPS EVER AGAIN!!!!! read more
