This post office always has a surprise every time we come. There is obviously no management around here. There's a sign that says "out for break until 4:38 PM". How ridiculous is that? And they close at 5 o'clock. There's a huge long line, and about four of us get Service but when I get to the front, the lady with the red and black corn rolls says "I'm going to break". Constant, reoccurring problems! Mail tossed into boxes for other addresses. Oversized packages CRAMMED into letterbox. Complain about it and it takes a week for someone, ANYONE, to come and get the package out! Meanwhile, they keep cramming mail on top or behind package so you can't get it! What really gets me, same day a bigger package was tossed over my fence, why not deliver both packages be left at house at same time? Community mailboxes and only access to back, is the keys the USPS has. Yet, when the back doesn't lock easily because the mail people slam the door. Then the useless post master condemns the boxes, some had 2 months of NO MAIL DELIVERY, others of us had 1 month of no delivery! Our park owners had to replace all boxes (and probably raise rent), wait for the USPS to get off their stools and install their key (told both service guys were on vacation at same time!) before we could receive mail! Come to find out, all the local USPS had to do on original boxes, were CHANGE THE LOCKS!! Then, first day USPS came back to deliver mail, our manager caught the idget delivery person, SLAMMING THE DOOR, watching it bounce back open, and SLAM IT AGAIN!! I was told by several people in my area that the useless post master was complaining to them about me filing complaints about her! Ain't seen nothing yet! Bodel, the post master, took 2 months to do anything and we would still be waiting if I didn't DEMAND our case be sent to the OIG USPS Dept. Of Customer Service! Service is horrid! Phone number to call is never answered! Bodel left message on VM to return her call, 4 days of recorded message then hang up! I FILED COMPLAINT! Got a 10 second VM of SILENCE then phone slam! A package that was noted as delivered was not in my mail box. When I went to the Rosamond post office to report missing package, I was told that the mail box was "probably broken into." My information was taken and I was told that "the boss" would contact me. I spoke to my mail delivery lady the next day. Told her about the missing package and she told me that the mail box had been broken into and a lot of peoples mail was gone. No notification was made about the street mail box being broken into. I lost my keys in Rosamond CA on 5 Jan 2024 for 7 days and looked everywhere for them especially at home with no luck. The last place I remember using them was at the mailbox, but the car dealer told me I could not have driven the car home without the keys, so I assumed my keys were lost inside my home. It wasn't long before my daughter checked the mail box with her key and thought someone tried to access it. So I went to the Rosamond Post Office to report a possible break-in but was surprised someone found my keys in my mail box, turned them in and Rosamond PO staff kept them safe in their office for 7 days. My humble gratitude to whomever turned my keys in and my thanks to the Rosamond Post Office for keeping them safe until I was able to locate them. I've always had pleasant experiences at this post office over the last several years. The staff does a good job of keeping this office clean and well-organized, and there always appears to be an appropriate staff level to efficiently help the incoming customers. This location has a good number of postal mailboxes as well, which I believe is the most reliable method of receiving our mail in Rosamond. The folks who work here have always been pleasant, patient, and friendly. The USPS couriers delivering mail to my physical address have also been excellent. I do wish that this location had longer hours of operation, because they are often closed when I need their assistance. I also wish that they didn't remove the U.S. Postal stamp vending machine a few years back, because I found this to be very helpful when trying to mail items late in the evening. Of course, I do understand that both of these things are somewhat limited by tax funding that this location receives, so it is what it is. Overall, I've really been pleased with the service at this location. The folks here have always been friendly and helpful. read more

The people in the post office are great. It is the carriers that are horrible. I had a key in my mailbox three times for a package box that didnt work. I have to physical take the key to the post office because carriers wont see note with the key saying it doesnt work. I asked that the package just be put at my door. Today I found a key in mailbox again and there was four packages. One saying live insects/plants inside. So of course the insects are dead from being in the package mailbox. read more

I have several concerns; 1) the hrs they are open are when I'm at work on base so it's nearly impossible for me to get there between 0930-1700. 2) multiple times I've had small boxes put in the mailbox that won't fit out the opening. Teach your mail carriers that the opening on the back side of the mailbox is slightly larger than the front side and to spend a min taking the time to deliver the box to the residence. 3) I've received mail to my address for another person. I took the mail into the post office and told them the issue. She took the mail from me and wrote something on each envelope. The next day both envelopes were back in my mailbox! The service provided at Edwards AFB Post Office is phenomenal compared to Rosamond Post Office, get it together folks! read more

my usual lady is bust her tail when making delivery of packages but when she isn't there look out! Yesterday I was home all day and the package said out for delivery. At 5 I run down the post office they are now closed and I intercept a lady out back and she told me that sometimes they get the mail but haven't sorted it yet is why it might say that. I wake up to find "no authorized recipient available" "notice left" Funny I have 15 4k security cameras and none of them have anyone within my property and my normal person didn't even drive by the entire day because I can tell with motion sensors and logging. I have complained to the Rosamond Post Office Manager, Paul on 5/3/ 2016, as well as the employees (since March) and USPS about my letters magazines, packages, bills etc, being returned to sender as undeliverable. I've lived in Rosamond for about a year, never had a problem until February . Poor mailmen, slow service I have complained on multiple occasions about mail being crammed into a small post office box. Our diplomas from college were folded in half and put in the box. Often when I put mail on hold, packages will still be delivered to the house and left in the porch for days. I'm constantly reminding the staff that the American flag must be raised during operating hours and I'm frequently ignored. When you track packages to your house, add a day because in my experience the post office will hold it for a day. The staff needs better training and/or replaced. read more

The post office is unfortunately one of those things that you can't really change. you can choose to send through other services, but you can' force everyone else to use a different carrier. I have only been in town for about a year, but I have lived numerous other places and I can say hands down that this is the Worst. USPS. Ever. I am never able to call them. Ever. I mean seriously tried about every 5 to 15 minutes for 3 hours, on numerous different days during their posted open hours, and have never once gotten an answer. The deliveries are contracted out to people driving shady beat up personal cars, who don't seem to have much care as to if you get your package in one piece, or even at all. Mail takes longer to get here than anywhere else I have ever lived, sometimes being delayed a week or two. You just see it sitting in the tracking info area, leaves one area, then doesn't show up again in Rosamond until several days after it should have. I have even watched as it was scanned in to local area, and then sent back out somewhere else for a week, just to come back to Rosamond and be delivered super late, with damage. Today was really the last straw for me however. Yesterday I got a notice in my box that they had packages for me. They did not require any sort of signature or confirmation, however instead of leaving them on my doorstep they just tell me to come pick them up myself. So today when I stop by, they can't find any of my packages. They said they THINK, they GUESS, that the carrier might have taken them out again. But they don't know. Real tight operation you got there guys, When I get home again, no packages on the door step, no notice in the box. Packages are just gone, without a trace. This is by far the worst postal experience I have had. In the last 7 months, my mail has been opened on numerous occasions to include a birthday card minus the gift card that was sent to me. I was expecting items shipped from Amazon which the tracking stated my item was left on the front porch. Funny how I was home and nothing was ever left on my porch. I had the same problem as other former residents of Rosamond. I moved from Rosamond to another town nearby and requested my mail forwarded. The first time in person and the second time online. The second time you ask? Because I never received one piece of mail. What happened after the second time? Absolutely nothing! I left a message on USPS.com, received a call from someone in the Eat coast. Later got in touch with the Rosamond postmaster. He took my information, acted as if he listened and cared, said he would personally call me back. Well, surprise, surprise, no follow up. Fast forward, 6+ months later, not one single piece of mail forwarded. How do I know? No yellow piece of forwarding address. In fact, I have not received ANY FORWARDED MAIL. The mail delivery folks in Rosamond are worthless, too lazy cruising around in the comfort of a Chevy HHR to get their ass out of the car and bring a package to the house where the resident has a broken back and can't drive down the street to get the package, and they leave a note. When someone can get to Rosamond to help a cripple, the postal workers rummage around in the back because they only want to work 2 hours on a Saturday and ignore any request for help. HORRIBLE! They have refused for months to deliver our mail. They first claimed we didn't have any mail coming to us but tracking numbers proved otherwise. The post master is rude and blames the private contractors but then helpful employees found hand written notes stating the post master had instructed all our mail not be delivered to us. We have opened complaints with the regional manager's office who was shocked by what is happening. Still this week I've had packages that USPS website says were delivered. You guessed it! No mail! These people should all be fired! The Rosamond P.O. is the worst I have ever used. They keep their phone off the hook so you can't call them about a mail delivery problem. I stopped using their Post Office for my mail services and now use Edwards AFB P.O. I still get mail delivered to my home address and that continues due to the 15 mile drive to Edwards I would have to make to get my mail delivered there. I have lived in this community for over 36 years and in those 36 years Rosamond P.O. has never improved their services. These people need to get their heads out of their rears or look for other employment. read more

This post office is terrible. They constantly give us the run around about packages and will refuse to deliver packages to our home. Which is literally less than a mile and a half from the post office. Our postal worker sometimes won't even deliver dvd size packages into our mailbox. We've gotten the excuse that they won't deliver packages due to possible theft and that their truck is too full(all the time, really?). We order online a lot and have packages come through usps, ups and fedex. UPS and FEDEX are WONDERFUL and give us zero problems but usps is a constant issue. We went on vacation for just a few days, less than a week, didn't bother to put the mail on hold because we figured we wouldn't get that much. Not only did they not deliver any of the packages that came that week, we had a neighbor agree to pick them up from our porch, but the postal worker took all of the mail back out of our mailbox (its one of those big box ones that is locked and there are several together) and didn't even leave a slip saying that they were holding any of our mail or packages. She just took it out of our box and left no slip or anything. This post office is terrible!!!!! I'm honestly afraid to let my mail go for more than a couple of days because I wonder if the postal worker is just going to take it all back out of our box and not tell us that we have mail. read more

The worst post office ever. They never answer the phone. I can call them during business hours any day of the week and they wont answer. I can be standing in the lobby calling them and they just ignore the ringing !!! They lose mail at an alarming rate, are under staffed etc.. WAIT !! I recently moved to Rosamond, CA and was extremely concerned to discover, although we are not rural and live on a main public street, the local post office contracts out their service carriers. This wouldn't be a problem if the Post Master of this office ensured these contracted service providers adhered to all Federal USPS policies and guidelines, as with any USPS carrier would acting in his/her official capacity. I often have my mail delivered by different people day to day, week to week, in different personal vehicles, with differing passengers in the cars they use, and never at consistent times!! All which are not within Federal USPS policy and guidelines! Really? Is this acceptable practice for "official" government service providers? They often mark packages as delivered, only they are not delivered as recorded by the carriers. Again, not within USPS policy. Today I heard my packages being thrown to the ground in my front porch entryway, as a young women climbed into a private vehicle with other passengers. A package marked in the USPS website system as delivered, was not among them? Then delivery info often not updated and my package whereabouts unknown. So if not taken back to the post office, where are my packages kept? In the contract service carriers "private" vehicle? Unacceptable and once again against USPS policy. Where is Rosamond's Post Master, and why aren't they ensuring "their" Post Office carriers are adhering to United States Post Service policy and guidelines, whether in-house or contracted? It is ultimately his/her responsibility acting as an Federal employee to ensure the residents of Rosamond are receiving their US mail and packages, securely, safely, and following ALL United States Postal Service policy and guidelines with the utmost trust. As a new resident to Rosamond, I can only hope things will improve with there "official" government business practices, but I am not confident it will any time soon. To add insult to injury, there is no way to bypass this office, as even UPS and FedEx often passes off packages to "my local post office" for delivery. So in essence, Rosamond residents are at the mercy of this Post Office and it's questionable and unethical business practices. read more
