This is my neighborhood post office. Yesterday I went in, just needing to get stamps. I called out Hello--and waited, again waited and said Hello again, waited a little longer and again said Hellllooo?? This was over 2 min I would say. He finally came out and I said you saw me come in right?--aren't customers more important than what is going on back there?? He said "you do not determine what I do"--I said NO I do not. Hoping someone else does though-unshaven guy forget his name. Very, very, rude--that he would even think to say something like this to a customer is really beyond my comprehension. Had one other problem with him -- do not remember about what, but again recently. I said I wanted some nice Christmas stamps--he said oh they only come in a book -- oops he forgot to mention what a book might cost ?? Left with a couple of single stamps. Just weird, I am not the type of person that receives rude treatment ever. I certainly do not accept it.

I came in for my appointment early, and used their machine to log in for my appointment. I was quickly called for my appointment, with very little wait time. My appointment went very well. I feel very fortunate to have had such a great experience. I definitely recommend this SSA location but I also recommend making an appointment for your visit ahead of time.

I stopped into VFW Post 10131 in Cape Canaveral yesterday at about 12:15 PM for what I thought…read morewould be a quick lunch. When I walked in, the place was basically empty. There were employees in the back and one elderly gentleman sitting at the bar. I ordered a sandwich and a Diet Coke. Nothing complicated. I figured I would eat, be done, and be back out the door in about 25 minutes. Instead, I sat there and waited. While I was waiting, more and more people came in. Before long, the bar was nearly full. Then I started watching people who came in well after me receive their food. Some were nearly finished eating while I still had nothing. I did not make a scene or keep bothering anyone. I waited patiently because I assumed there had to be some reasonable explanation. Finally, after about 48 minutes, I asked the waitress about my sandwich. She told me there were "three in front of you." Three in front of me? I walked into an almost empty bar. How did I suddenly end up with three orders in front of mine while people who arrived after me were already eating? Then she told me not to worry because it was coming out and she could "hear her." At that point I stood up and told her I did not have any more time to wait. She said she would get it to go. So I waited again. Another approximately eight minutes. She went into the back and disappeared. Still no sandwich. Still no to go order. Still no explanation. After nearly an hour, I finally walked out. And before anyone focuses on the Diet Coke, let me address that too. I had taken a sip or two and left without paying because the waitress had disappeared into the back after telling me she would get my food to go. I had already waited close to an hour. If VFW Post 10131 wants payment for the Diet Coke, send me the tab. I will gladly pay it. But let's keep that in perspective. I could have bought 50 cases of Diet Coke for what the time I lost that day was worth to me because of the way this was handled. The Coke is not the issue. The issue is nearly an hour of wasted time, terrible communication, and watching people who arrived after me get served and nearly finish their meals while I continued to sit there waiting for a simple sandwich. I am not saying I know what was going through anyone's mind. I am saying exactly what I witnessed. I arrived when the place was almost empty. I ordered before most of the people who later filled the bar. They got their food. I did not. After 48 minutes I was told there were three orders in front of me. Then I was told my food was coming. Then I was told it would be boxed to go. Then I waited another eight minutes and still got nothing. What makes this more disappointing is that I am not a tourist passing through Cape Canaveral. I own property here in the Cape. I spend my money here and deliberately try to support smaller local establishments instead of always giving my money to large corporations and chain restaurants. I like seeing the little places make the money. I like seeing money stay in the community. That is one of the reasons I chose to stop here in the first place. But supporting local does not mean my time is worthless. I am not a member, and after this experience I was certainly left with the impression that being a nonmember put me somewhere near the bottom of the priority list. Maybe that was not intentional. Maybe there is another explanation. But that is exactly how it looked from my side of the bar. If nonmembers are welcome, then treat them like they are welcome. If members or regulars receive priority, be upfront about it before taking someone's order and letting them sit there for nearly an hour. Had someone simply told me, "We are backed up and this could take close to an hour," I would have thanked them and gone somewhere else. Instead, I was allowed to sit there while people arriving after me were served. I wanted to support a local place. Instead, I walked away feeling like my business and my time meant absolutely nothing. Nearly an hour for a sandwich that never arrived, while people who came in after me were already finishing their meals, says pretty much everything that needs to be said.

No, not a kid and although no family worked there our daughter was able to get us passes. Amazing. So much to see and Navy personnel were there to explain so much. The most interesting places we were not able to take pictures of or even bring our phones and smart watches inside. If you get a chance this is worth seeing!!

That being said if the rocket gods are on your side you'll get an experience you won't soon forget. Today SpaceX launched the first heavy rocket from the Cape carrying a Telsa with 3 returning boosters 2 to Lz 1 and 1 to an ocean barge. It was amazing to see the boosters come back almost simultaneously and land right next to each other. Night launches are even better so if u have the chance u can't beat this experience live!

They have Christmas themes with the general saying of "mailed from Christmas FL" and both red and green ink pads the lines are long-ish but the employees are wonderful. This is my new tradition which I started after reading a similar review from fellow Yelpie Joe S. There's parking right outside as well.

You might think the town was named for the popular winter holiday but it was actually named for Fort Christmas, which was built on Christmas Day 1837 during the Second Seminole War. Post 348 has great parking since it owns a grassy lot that goes through to Johnson Ave just south of Lincoln Avenue. It has an additional outdoor bar jutting into the parking lot. It opens at 8 am on Saturday for fresh cooked breakfast. I'm going to sign off now and go there.
