From the outside you would just pass this place up. Much like I did on several occasions. Honestly, this is the only thing in the building, all other businesses that once took up shop here, left. I wouldn't come here for my post office needs, especially since the one in Swissvale is much nicer, and doesn't look like a haunted house on the inside. One thing that is better here is space. There is a ton of it in there and you are not crammed in waiting your turn to get to the counter to buy your stamps/send a package. Even though this place seems uninviting, from my one visit there, it is very busy. People are actually using it.

If you prefer to get in and get out without a hassle, stop here instead of going to Squirrel Hill. The clerks fly through customers and keep the line moving. Frequent enough and they begin to recognize you and instead of the standard motions will chit chat with you while your order is being processed. Word of advice, try to avoid during school being let out. Parents park in the lot and wait for their children as well as school buses clogging up the street.

The process was really stressful and rushed due to so many customers being crammed into a tiny store waiting to be helped. The associate was impatient and did not give me time to closely measure the prints, and the ruler they gave me to verify the photo measurements was beat up and inaccurate. The photos ended up being the wrong size and poorly lit. Total waste of $20. When I emailed the store asking for a resolution, I received a really dismissive response. Avoid at all costs.

I'll take accountability in saying that I visited within the last 15 minutes before closing…read more I came in with a large box that I struggled to bring in due its size and weight, waited in line for most of this time slot, got to the counter and was demeaningly advised that they couldn't accept my box because it required more tape. I asked if it was possible if I could buy a few strips of tape from them and they declined--that's fine, because perhaps they're not allowed, nor it is their job. I then asked if I could leave the box on the side of the counter or on the floor (pushed to the side) so I could run out to the car and grab my tape, they stated I am not allowed to do that because they cannot be responsible for my package. While I understood that, I asked if they could please make a one time exception being that the box was a struggle to bring in, and my car is just right outside the facility; the answer was still no. At this point, it's about 4-5 mins before closing, I brought the box out to the car, wrapped it in tape like spider-man would wrap you in webs. It wasn't necessarily the taping that took up most of the time, but rather the transportation of the box itself. Once I got back into the store, it was about one minute before close. Another person before me was finishing up as I walked back in, I got to the counter and I was told they cannot service me with shipping my box because they're now closed. I asked if they could please allow me to ship it as it was literally the last day I had available before a move out of state, and he said "No". I had visited this store in particular because of their hours and convenience..or so I thought. These guys here are just merciless in the fact that they watched me have a hard time and seemed to have never had the intentions of being of service to begin with. I understand it's a busy location, but projecting any frustrations that come with such, onto people is unacceptable. Abusing your power is inhumane, shadowed by undertones of disrespect and then passing it off as just doing your job. Please keep in mind that parking, or lack-there-of, is like playing a game of duck-duck-goose. Which was what partly left me with that 15 min time slot, as I circled around the block countless times to catch a spot close enough to make it possible for me to bring that box in. Had I not gotten that spot, there would've been no way I could carry it into the store from a longer distance. In any case, there are really fun and cool places to eat around the area; maybe explore a little if you're ever feeling adventurous.

I came to renew my driver's license (real id) with a new picture…read more I came prepared with my camera card. Parking here is a cinch with a huge shopping center parking lot available. There was one person ahead of me for the first line. I was waited on by a friendly gentleman, given a number and instructions where to wait. I waited maybe 15 minutes until my number was called then sat for my photo. I was asked if it was ok. It was (well, ya know, good enuff for a mug shot). I signed something before or after, I don't recall which. The gentleman taking the photo explained that because it was a real id renewal, it would come by mail in about 15 days and, in the meantime, he gave a receipt and my camera card back to use in the meantime. That was it. In and out in under half an hour. This location has always served me well, especially the time it takes and everyone who works here has always been pleasant.

It is a large facility, but all of the staff that we met were extremely helpful, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. Despite there being a lot of customers in front of us when we arrived, the waiting time was shorter than we expected. The waiting area is clean and fairly comfortable and the restrooms were very clean. Also, there are a lot of restaurants and other businesses nearby if one wishes to access other services in the area before or after visiting this PennDOT customer service center. Compared to other PennDOT customer service centers in Pennsylvania that I have visited, this office far exceeded my expectations.

This place is EXCELLENT. Aaron and his team are master packers -- I had a delicate, expensive item…read moreto ship and was seriously unsure whether we could ship it without it being ruined en route. It was a silk floral arrangement that needed to be contained in a box without the flowers on top being crushed, or the vase on bottom getting broken. Aaron did some serious magic....it involved gluing one box into another box, putting padding in between the two ... securing the vase to the bottom, and creating an inviolable chamber on top for the flowers to breathe in...making sure that if the box was thrown around in transit, everything would be safe. And it was. Truly amazing. They are also very nice to deal with. I really prefer going to this small, personal, thoughtful place where they take the time to problem solve, where they are sensitive to costs, and where they execute extremely well.
