I gave 1 star, but would have given ZERO stars if I could have. Below is the letter I sent them. Horrible experience. I do not recommend them. Service is bad and customer service is non responsive. Do not rent from Uhaul on Rodi Rd or Uhaul in general. There are other options. On Friday August 9th, I made a reservation for a 9' cargo van at your location on Rodi Rd. in Pittsburgh for August 10th (see contract number above). On the morning of August 10th, I received a call from UHaul to confirm my reservation. I confirmed the reservation and the representative said everything was all set. About 20 minutes later, as I was enroute to pick up the van, I get a call from the office on Rodi Rd. saying they have no vans to rent. Since I was about 2 minutes away, I told the person I will be right there. When I got there, the representative tells me that although I made my online, someone came in and made a reservation in person prior to the reservation I made online. I asked why did the online system reserve me something that wasn't available. The representative was extremely curt and answered he didn't know. I asked what was I suppose to do since I obviously needed a van. He responded, "I guess you will have to go another place" He suggested another UHaul center that was farther away which would mean more mileage charge. When I mentioned that, the other representative said, "Tell them your situation and maybe they will waive the mileage charge" I asked if they could call and tell them my situation and make a reservation for me since this was not of my doing. The one agent said, "This wasn't our doing either. It is the online reservation system's fault". I was hoping that the training on good customer service you provide your representatives would kick in and they would attempt to resolve the issue as best they could. Unfortunately, they did not try. They sat there and offered no assistance beyond I would have to go somewhere else. At this point, I am furious and asked to speak with the manager. The one replied, "He is not here". When will he be in? "Not today, he is on vacation" Can he be reached? "No" So how can I get resolution to this situation? "I don't know" May I have your name? "You don't need our name" Eventually, they did tell me the manager's name was Doug and he would be back sometime this week. Since I needed a van, I was going to the place they suggested when I saw a UHaul place a little closer that had a van. Although the 2nd place was more professional and accommodated my need, I think, going forward, I will rent from places other than UHaul and encourage my family, friends and colleagues not to rent from UHaul either. My experience at the Rodi Rd location, along with the lack of professionalism, and overall rudeness has left me with a bad taste. It would seem UHaul doesn't appreciate nor want my business so why should give you my business. I will be placing this review on Yelp and other social media platforms so other customers will not have to endure what I did. The courtesy of personal reply would be greatly appreciated.

We tried to find out about shipping a simple box after wasting an hour on the world's worst website, fedex.com We called this store and spoke to a dopey kid for ... well, a long, long time ... while he actually said many, many things like this: "Duhhhh ... I don't get it. Are you trying to just ship the empty box?" Why does this happen? It happens because Fedex is the worst company on Earth, so no intelligent person will work for Fedex. How many news stories have we seen about Fedex drivers ... whom Fedex refused to classify as employees ... have just snapped and dumped hundreds, or even thousands, of packages in ditches, ravines, and other places in the woods? Too many times to count, that's how many. Fedex's website is utterly incompent and useless when you try to get info on shipping. Then Fedex refuses to connect you to a human being in its CHAT function, and every response from its incompetent A.I. robot is utterly irrelevant. That's the experience you have when you try to perform the simple act of finding out how much it costs to ship a damn package. Just imagine how bad it's going to be for you when you have a real and complex problem and you try to get Fedex to do something about it!
