I have found it very difficult to work with Postmaster Lori Harris throughout the process of requesting USPS medical hardship mail delivery. When I submitted the required documents to the Payson Post Office, I requested a receipt confirming they had been received\. That request was denied\. I then asked to take photos of the documents in the post office environment proving they were in the post office at that time. I did follow up with phone calls which went unanswered, however, I persisted calling and was told Postmaster Lori was in a meeting and could not come to the phone. They did give me a verbal confirmation that she received the documents. During the inquiry and gathering of documents, Postmaster Lori did not provide me with all of the information necessary to complete my application\. Fortunately, I researched the USPS requirements myself and discovered additional forms that needed to accompany my request\. Had I relied solely on the information I was given, my application would have been incomplete\. During a scheduled visit to my property to discuss my hardship mailbox request, I felt I was treated disrespectfully\. Based on observing me walk only a few seconds, Postmaster Harris stated, "You do not look disabled\." I found that comment inappropriate and inconsistent with the purpose of the visit\. At that point, I began recording the conversation on my phone to preserve an accurate record of what was being said\. When she noticed, she asked if I was recording\. After I answered yes, she stated, "It is illegal to record," ended the meeting immediately, and returned to her vehicle\. Before leaving, I asked whether it was illegal to record on my own private property in Arizona when the recording was not concealed\. My question was not answered\. Instead, I was told, "I will call you," and she ended the meeting by abruptly leaving\. My experience has left me concerned about the professionalism and customer service I received\. I intend to submit formal complaints to the USPS Consumer Affairs Office and the USPS Office of Inspector General so the matter can be reviewed through the appropriate channels\. For anyone considering filing a complaint with the USPS Office of Inspector General online, pay close attention during the process\. Some complaint categories may redirect you to the USPS Consumer Affairs system instead of the Office of Inspector General\. If your concern involves employee misconduct or other matters within the Inspector General's jurisdiction, verify that your complaint is being submitted to the correct office\. I encourage others who believe they have been treated improperly to document the facts and use the established complaint process\. Constructive feedback and accountability help improve public service. I certainly hope my review is not met with retaliation. read more

Called the PO 3 days and finally got through. Spoke to a rude person named Lori about a package that wasn't even supposed to be there. Every day in tracking it says that it is being "processed" but it never leaves. She hung up on me when I complained about it not being routed correctly. The United States Post Office in Payson, Az. is the worst for service and delivery. I now have had 2 packages not delivered and sent to who knows where. This message is a lie as I never agreed to it and never signed it. An address redirection agreement is in place between the customer and the carrier. It's 9 am on a Thursday, one person working the counter when we hear a crowd singing "happy birthday" from the back. Now, I live a good birthday celebration just as much as the next gal, but if I ignored the people I am to be helping to sing, the bosses may have an issue with that. When it was finally my turn, I was told to step out of line to complete a priority label by hand. Color me silly, but in 2025 & as much as they charge for 'priority mail' maybe hook up a printer. After taking the 45 seconds to complete the address, I had to wait another 10 minutes as the one clerk took the folks in line behind me. I get she was trying to move the line, but it took less than a minute to complete the address. Why make me get out of line to wait even longer? It would be nice if a) they adequately staffed the counter and b) respected the time of others. This might be one of the reasons the USPS is floundering. I wish I'd gone to PostNet. read more

There is something terribly wrong at this post office. The post master here should be fired. There are plenty of solutions to the influx of Amazon box deliveries. No one at this location is doing anything to provide better service and long wait times. read more

Slow service and bad attitude for a service oriented organization. They are the only game in town and they know it. Nothing will move them to improve because there is no incentive. One clerk is famous for being angry or having an attitude. The Postmaster will not take complaints directly and the whole place stinks of indifference. An entire bank of mail boxes is wiped out in town and the wait is over a year for them to be replaced/fixed. Their response? "Come to general delivery for your mail." read more

I was in that USPS office to send a box to my daughter with allot of books and some magazines so then can read where a the hospital. That Clerk was talking a restaurant, not what she was talking about. I hold this box of allot of books! She said something about books, then said can not send ads! Why? Something about magazines ads! Again, what about ads on magazines? She says if i send ads or cut and open that box with ads so she can see in that box! I want to send my box or care send that box! I have been to the Payson Post Office on several occasions for a variety of reasons. The customer service has been great when I have been helped by Ellen, Deidre and Shayla. However, today I had the unfortunate pleasure of being helped (I use this term loosely) by Bill. He seemed bored and unhappy to be at the customer service counter, therefore, making my experience unpleasant. The Payson Post Office is the most mismanaged Post Office I have ever seen. There are not enough employees and most of the ones working there are not friendly and seem to sound like they are doing you a favor by serving you. I have called on several occasions for information and no one answers the phone and you cannot leave a message. Also I get mail in my box every other day; it is not delivered daily. They failed to deliver a package. I inquired, and their postmaster Lori Harris called. When I suggested they are not doing as well as UPS, FedEx, et-c and said I would stop by to pickup the package at great inconvenience, she apparently didn't like it. She threatened to return it to sender when I inquired about business hours. So much for customer feedback with this bureaucracy. Absolutely the worst experience in getting mail & packages delivered! Twice I've waited for packages to be delivered, and never showed up! The first even though the USPS website showed to be delivered at home we called & they said come pick it up This time after a 2+ week hold, website again listed they will deliver accumulated packages & mail & nothing! I called, but on Saturday they close at 12pm, seriously?? Work only half a day & it's Memorial weekend so I won't see mail til Tuesday where once again I will have to pickup! Second damaged packages in a two month time period. Wrong information provided to Amazon by postal carrier on multiple occasions. Stating "address not found " "package damaged and leaking " "packages on there way". Multiple products damaged by USPS Payson Az. Drivers throwing packages over my fence. Mark Payson Az told me my package was on its way 12/4. It never came. The next day Lori leaves me a message stating my package was damaged and leaking but if I wanted to pick it up I could. Missing and misdelivered mail on the regular so thanks USPS for helping me get to know my neighbors, especially the 84 year old lady who I correctly gave her heart medicine to since it was put in my box. Extremely slow and poor service at location. Very frustrating to drive 25 miles into town with your pink "could not deliver" slip and no one can find your package. "Oh, this stuff happens" you say....... Of course it does. But 3 times in the last 6 months? I have attempted to pick up the most recent missing package 3 times. Someone took my phone number the first 2 times but no one called me. The last time I was there I waited in line 30 minutes only to be asked to return when the manager was in. If you want consistency then this is your place. Consistently run poorly. Important things have disappeared with no follow up on their part, I have been given pink "unable to deliver" pink slips for very small packages that would have easily fit in my locker. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of customer service by a hometown Post Office. I brought two small packages in to mail, both with prepaid shipping labels and packaging, and asked a male clerk where I needed to put the label on the packaging. He told me where to put the label, told me I needed to cut the label smaller and said 'Here, I will let you borrow my scissors this once', and then told me to go to the back of the line because he would not wait for me to do so. I went to the back of the line, got to the front of the line, and then was told by a woman clerk that she would not let me use their tape to stick the label on the packaging, I had to purchase my own tape from them. Again, I was told to go to the back of the line to purchase the tape. By the third time I got to the front of the line, a different woman clerk waited on me and I said to her, "Wow. I am in disbelief over having to purchase tape and the last clerk giving me a hard time using his scissors." She told me I was lucky they even let me use their scissors to cut my printed label from home, and said now I know how to come properly prepared. I am still sitting in the parking lot writing this review. I can't believe how rude and cold these employees were! The fact that I was not given all the information to mail my package with the first clerk, then given a hard time each and every single time I approached the counter absolutely makes me appalled. And you make me purchase $4 in tape for the two pieces I needed to mail my small packages??!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

I do a lot of mailing and have use post office all around the country. The Payson post office is by far my favorite I've ever used! Their pleasant, courteous, knowledgeable and fast. The USPS in Payson, Az. Always has plenty of clerks to help you. They're constantly calling for back up so people don't have to wait. I definitely look forward to my post office visits. read more

Payson PO is the best. Fast and friendly. Occasionally quite busy but the clerks are quick. I would recommend it for anyone to go through there. read more
